Eh . . .given what we've seen in the series, I don't think it matters since they are all the same and Naruto will retain all the memories when he disperses (assuming that hasn't been retconned too). Still, if that's the problem, the solution is for the "real" Naruto to stay home. Problem solved.

 

It's not whether he remembers. It's the principle of the matter. I think it's one thing that if he promises Bolt they'll got to the park only for Gaara to suddenly decide an invasion is nice because of some tainted ramen Naruto sent him. Life happens and you have to work. It's another matter to do it over and over. Sorry, son I'm busy, here's a shadow clone will only work so many times. If it happens a lot then the kid will feel like he's just being foisted off on a cheap copy. The act of being there and making the time matter otherwise he'll feel like second fiddle to work.

As it is now, Bolt IS the second fiddle to work, Shadow Clones or no.

In this case, it's either:
-Naruto has interaction with his son in the form of sending a Shadow Clone of himself.
-Naruto sends a few Shadow Clones to handle the work for him while he spends time with his son.
-Some type of medium between the two. Some days, it's himself, other days, a Shadow Clone.
-Or no Shadow Clones at all, and therefore, no interaction at all with his son of any sort. Look where that's gotten him.

 

And isn't Naruto supposed to be more resourceful than that?

 

Honestly, I can only see the use of Kage Bunshin as being better than the alternative of none at all. It'll at least provide an emotional buffer for Bolt in the least, and makes sure his son gets at least some attention. It's definitely better than 'Deal with it, Son.'

In any case, I wonder just what kind of work being Hokage entails in those days. Not like there's much ninja work going on lately.

I do think Bolt would see it as a cheap substitute. It's better than the alternative, but it's using ninjustu rather than what he should be doing: making time. It just not the same and I could see Bolt still being resentful. However, the better question is if the five nations are at peace why can't he make the time? After his own childhood you'd think he'd find ways to make the times not fail to do so and then tell his son to suck it up.

Ehh the real Naruto could be with his son while clone Naruto's in the meeting. Like..the real Naruto could have stayed to clean up the faces with him and the clone go to the meeting. I see nothing wrong in that.

Dunno, other than it would have prevented Naruto from stating a  point that effectively puts the blame on the kid. Way to go, Kishimoto! It's not my fault for not being there it's yours for feeling bad about it! Naruto's final lesson the manga. Warms me up inside.

You took the words right out of my mouth, Nate ol' buddy. Honestly, Naruto's not as much like Goku as he had come off as at times, and the fact even with his being busy he can't spend time with his family shows he really may be happy to be Hokage, but maybe there's more to his lack of happiness in his family life if he can't make time for Bolt.

OT: Anyone else hoping Bolt becomes a badass at his age?He seems to act like Sasuke, he isn't loud like Naruto. 

 

I really hope he creates his own nin jutsu, Rasengan is too main stream now.
