I need a good book about the depression for history class. I already read the grapes of wrath, and i would prefer the book to be between 200 and 300 pages.

How about Of Mice and Men as it's from the same author who did The Grapes of Wrath John Steinbeck, though granted its a 187 pages just 13 away from what you recommended at minimum.

Fictional or factual books?

Of mice and men is a good choice, great gatsby came out in 1925 so a bit early.

The Grapes of Wrath for sure. The film adaptation directed by John Ford is worth a watch, too.

The second Nero Wolfe novel, The League of Frightened Men, is pretty entertaining.
