Just like the last episode. It expounds Naruto's thoughts of Sasuke. But oh the redundancy, they're dragging it out for too long it's getting repetitive and boring. I actually expected to see Kakashi saving Sakura here.

I give it a 6/10 okay 7/10 because the ep has done a good job explaining the corresponding manga chapter

man that sucks, don't know which I hate more filler arc's or filler flashback to canon scenes to fill time.

Sadly yeah, next episode is Kakashi's turn to flashback and we only get to see Sasuke's first assassination attempt. I imagine next episode ending with Sasuke telling Kakashi that he'll end up like the 3rd.

Edit: It is possible that it would be quicker next week because Sasuke activated his MS which is after his statement to Kakashi. My optimistic prediction is that Naruto will save Sakura at the ending of next ep.

Well, they don't show some of the big events or say anything really big in the previews for those who don't read the manga most likely.

this is setting up to be a Sasuke worship scenario, when in the manga the rescue was clearly a reference to Minato's saving of Naruto (I know it's in the future, but they should be laying the groundwork so the viewer can connect the dots). So I'm preparing for another sasuke-lost-bond-lovefest, rather than Naruto intentionally saving someone who's important to him or Sakura becoming a little more self-actualized about this whole thing.

The animators think the Sasuke worship is necessary as a last hurrah as after this we won't be seeing Sasuke anytime soon. Hence they're giving him screentime as much as possible

*Yawn* Filler, and boring filler, at that. I don't think there was even five minutes of actual present day activities in this episode.

And I, like tricksie, am so sick of the pedestals the writers and animators for the anime have placed Sasuke and Hinata on. It's no wonder so many anime-only viewers have such a broken concept of characterization, as, in order to build up the anime team's favorite characters, everyone else is torn down.

And we have been getting a lot of them recentlyyy >:(
Nothing special about this episode. Just stuff I already know. So there's not a lot to say. Hopefully Naruto will come in sooner rather than later.

Naruto wakes up.
Yamato tells him not to leave.
Naruto leaves.

Ugh, come on, just finish the arc already. Seriously, if they're giving us this many flashbacks they better not have another filler arc before the next canon arc. Seriously, the manga's almost two years ahead of the anime, there's no point dragging it out with all these fillers.
And if they add more flashbacks before Sakura tries to kill Sasuke, or make it more romantic or something, I'll be ticked.

I officially hate flashback episodes more than filler episodes.

Like Darth Krypt says it would be better to drop the anime for a while but I don't have the patience to do so.

But imagine in what kind of suspense the persons are who don't read the manga. They still sit with the last line of Sakura "I want to defect from Konoha" or smthng among those lines.

About the pedestals just hope they'll fall sometimes I get the impression that Kishi is working on it but Pierrot deliberately keeps them up. A shame for Kishi's story.

And how many panels would have past in this episode? Two pages worth at the most?
