Yup it has been confirmed: the poster girl for Overwatch is officially revealed as the first LGBTQA character in the series http://www.gamerevol...bian-lgbt-38691

Now I see why some people are worried that Blizzard might be following the "hot lesbian" trope by revealing her first. While I sure hope that they aren't going down that road I gotta say I'm pretty happy about this

Why happy?

Comics was intresting, in terms of showing what is happening with all of characters.

I'm happy about it because the cover character and arguably the main character of the series is the first LGBT character. That's a pretty big step forward in terms of diversity in video games

But her being lgbt is not point of comics, and it's not what determines her character.

Its not what determines her character no but its still a big step regardless. Most LGBT characters are generally reduced to the "gay partner" or back up roles. This a is a Gay character taking a lead role as both the face of the series and one of its more popular characters.

Its the equivalent of Wonder Woman or Spiderman being gay. its a flagship character not some mere backgrounder which has traditionally been where such characters end up.

Yeah it doesn't and I never said it did. That's not the point though

I'm more suprised this is still news, I read the Eurogamer article a couple of days ago, and my only reaction was, Hmm...not a big surprise, only real question I had was after reading a comment on EG, was how come she isn't wearing her suit? I thought she needed to wear it to stop herself from shifting outside the timeline.

I'm pretty psyched about it! I sort of figured that whenever Blizzard made one of their characters canonically gay, it'd be a somewhat-irrelevant side character. Never thought it'd be the poster character, but it's a pleasant surprise. Now here's hoping that more of the heroes get revealed as LGBT+ sometime soon (personally, I'm hoping for bi McCree.)

Tracer is gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, I know, I love her   But really, for the people saying "it was not necessary showing her making out with her girlfriend" I'll say this: About 99% of all the movies, comics, series and animes I've watched and read there was an heterosexual relationship not related to the plot AT ALL and I had to watch/read their drama anyway but you start getting annoyed when it is a gay couple? F uck off.
