From what I got from the last episode, Ilya was mainly driven to go through with the operation because she was hurt that Blake didn't return her (romantic) feelings and not because of her past.
Ilia was jealous because Blake was together with Adam but I don't think it has anything to do with the path she chose, it's more like what she's willing to sacrifice for taking the White Fang's side. She's been through a lot since her parent's death. Not to mention she's just another victim of humans hating on faunus. She thinks Adam's way is the right way but she's wrong. Like I said, Adam's path will only lead to more hatred towards the faunus. Also I highly doubt if Salem wins the war she will let the White Fang and faunus do whatever they want. I won't be surprise if she kills them all because they're part of humanity and she wants humanity to perish.
