Odd topic, huh? Well over the past couple of months I have noticed an odd trend in manga, in that Satan is a main character in the series and has a group of "soldiers" following and protecting him.

Example #1
Shina Dark
Welcome to the cursed island of Shina Dark. This island is called home by the dark lord Exoda C. Claw AKA Satan. He's as powerful a being as you could ever hope to meet. Feared and hated the world over for the infinite amount of atrocities he's committed. He's.....actually a really nice guy who just wants to chill out around the castle and relax... After a month long nap he awakens to find that the rest of the world has made up another ridiculous rumor and blown it way out of proportion and that has caused his little island to be crowded with a thousand beautiful princesses meant to be his mistresses/sacrifices. Worse yet is that since they have set foot on his island they are all believed to be cursed and are now shunned by their homelands. What’s a couch potato Satan to do with 1000 women who wont leave? Who can say?
-edit-Hmm... I am curious to see if this one should be included. The last chapter I just read said the term Satan should actually be translated as Demon King (mou). But they decided to go with a localization of the translation...b]

[b]Example #2

The Lucifer and Bisquit Hammer
The world is in mortal peril. Sir Noi Crezant, the Lizard Knight, has been sent to gain the aid of the great warrior Amamiya Yuuhi in hopes of finding the Princess Samidare and protecting the planet from the incredible 'Biscuit Hammer' poised to crack the Earth in two. Unfortunately Yuuhi wants no part of it, and the Princess doesn't prove to be the shining 'hero of justice' role model that Noi had hoped for.

Example #3
Beezlbub
The story follows the "strongest juvenile delinquent" as he watches over the devil king's son (and future devil king) with the destruction of the world hanging in the balance.

Lol, I wonder where this has come from. laugh.gif

lets all blame it on 666 Satan or the bible lol

but seriously, it might be just translation quirks or mangaskas finding ways to combine eastern and western ideas.
