Since Vyse pinned this thead (thank you, good sir.) It'll be changed to a general tech thread. Like my game thread, post or discuss anything new or cool. Or if you need help with anything, we have a few experts running around.

Never liked the Radeon 4570. I was going through my laptop choices this year and half of them was equipped with it, with a high cost too. It's not decent for gaming.

Seriously? Yours is still very well equipped, all it could use is a hard drive upgrade. The Blu-Ray disk drive is a rare commodity in laptops right now, you'd have to pay at least $1000+ for a laptop to be equipped with Blu-ray.

I guess not, eh? I like widescreen laptops. And mine is widescreen.. therefore great for portable gaming.

Compared to my old laptop (which my parents now use)

ASUS A3FC

15.6" LCD
80 GB HDD
DVD-ROM Drive
Intel Integrated 450 (or was it 500?) Chipset
2 GB RAM

Utter crap for gaming, but I used it for 3 years. The screen is now wobbly and hinges are loose.

Widescreen laptops are great I had a toshiba a couple years ago with a screen that was 17 inches wide at least.

Well, I don't use my laptop for gaming (mainly at least). I use it for schoolwork and simple games (Ragnarok Online, it runs more than enough for it). And... I bough the laptop last January for 600 AUD, which is pretty cheap for the standard since at that time, even the lower end of the laptop line are usually around 800-900 AUD.

Trust me, not HP. I got a friend who works in HP repair service store, he told me: When an HP brough in for broken part, we just remove them and put in a COMPATIBLE part instead of the original HP part. Sometimes, we use parts that comes from ANOTHER laptop that ALSO happen to be under repair. That is why sometimes the new part is wobbly or not even fit with the socket and easily broken again.

Dell has poor customer service from what my friends tell me. And Mac? Really? Stick to windows if you don't want the headache. My sister's hard drive failed on her Macbook a few months ago. Around $200 dollars after taxes to get it fixed.

What bull.

On a laptop, give me around 100 dollars, I could get it upgraded and installed and still have change.
