Smokin' Parade 

 

2 years after Deadman Wonderland ended, Kataoka Jinsei and Kondou Kazuma finally came out with their new manga "Smokin' Parade". The manga is monthly and will be serialized in Shounen Ace.

 

I didn't except the authors to do a better first chapter the this. Gore and everything, really remind me of Deadman Wonderland's first chapter. Here's the link to the first chapter; http://www.mymangaon...-Vol-1-Ch-0-001

Chapter 1

It was a decent first chapter, and definitely pretty gruesome, not that I expected any less considering their previous work. It's got my attention though and I'm interested to see where it goes. If Deadman Wonderland is anything to judge by, this manga should have some shocking twists, and hopefully, interesting characters with solid development. My only complaint at the moment is that I don't like that the main character looks so much like Ganta. It feels like they were too lazy to come up with a new character design. But I'll just have to get used to it.

Chapter 1

This series really reminded me of Deadman Wonderland. Glad you liked it, this manga was the first new manga I looked up til. And I'm not disappointed.

It all just have been a really bloody birthday. About the character design, yeah it seems like they haven't really thought about changing the art style. But I'll like it for mangas like this and DW.

Not sure who is still keeping up with Smokin Parade, but I decided to catch up after Chapter 5, and it's been really interesting so far especially when it comes to a certain twist that occurs later on.  Right now there's about 15 chapters, and to me each chapter slowly gets better.. One thing I can say is that it's kind of got a slow start when get passed Chapter 1 I think until Chapter 3, and then Chapter 4 things slowly speed up.  There's only 14 chapters out at the moment, and I think it's on par with Deadman Wonderland.. It has potential for it to be better, but we just got wait and see.
