Am I the only one who loves FF3 and FF5 for their Job System?
I just...like the fact that leveling up isn't the ONLY thing I can grind.
Especially with the Final Fantasy Tactics saga, where grinding is key. But not leveling up, but to get those abilities to put bosses into comas. Comparing those games with their freedom and flow, it makes the rest of the FF's kinda of stuck to a key-basic. But then again, I'm ignoring the fact that the choices you make in terms of equipment, determine what's your style of play and which skills you bring into battle.
But then again...those previous games I was talking about, make it so flashy and quick to change jobs and roles that you don't need to dash off to a shop and get materias or draw magic from monsters.
I just...like it because it's there. Open menu > Jobs > Pick character > Choose the job > Done! With FFT and FFTA 1/2 it's slightly harder...
Find weapon>Equip it>Get AP>Max it>Go to the next weapon.
Maybe I...just...love grinding levels. I like progress. Or maybe I just want to be enrolled in a quest where I have to repeat my actions over and over again, so I can feel safe with my choices, considering that in the end, I'll eventually get all abilities and weapons.
...I'mma nutcase.

Now, in terms of animation/storyline, I can't say much. I don't think I ever saw a Chinese anime. And the anime I watch that comes from Japan is older then I. Sooooo...yeah.

To be honest that's now. Back in 08 when that article was written that wasn't the case. The developers had to dumb it down a lot so players could actual complete it. Also, I honestly don't know what raid you're talking about in WoW that takes 10+ hours.
Actually do you know the blog of GMDave? He said that on maximum the PW would take a bad LS 10 hours to defeat. And this is a guy from the inside.
And there's lulzy video of WoW'ers going on raids about 10+ hours, I might be wrong, but I've heard podcasts where people brag how they've went on quests and raids that took them half a day to complete.

Even the Mystic Quest one. FF3, FFV, FF8, FF11, FFT:A and FFT:A2 are my favourite.
Also the Pandemonium Warden only takes 5 hours to defeat. That's half of the hours that a raid on WoW takes place. Stupid clans are stupid.
