I always liked Sakura's eyes the best, as well as her smile. Specifically the one she reserved for Naruto

As for curves I really hate the  whole, "LOOKATHERGIANTGAZONGASTHEYARESOBIGICANTEVENFITTHEMINTOMYEYESULTRAWAIFUULTRAWAIFUULTRAWAIFU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!."

Fukkin makes me sick. Sure Hinata had curves but her face was average and her eyes were creepy as hell. The problem is they pushed her boobs so much that eventually that became her signature characteristic.

Tsunade was a bit better, at least it wasn't every five seconds.

One of the things I liked about Sakura was (Save for the stupid SP filler and RTN) SHE DIDN'T GIVE A FLYING F ABOUT HER BREAST SIZE.

She had beautiful eyes, a lovely face, a nice rump and was actually USEFUL IN BATTLE. HINATA GOT PASTED IN EVERY FIGHT SHE FOUGHT IN AND TRIPPED OVER A ROCK. :wallbash:  :wallbash:  :wallbash:

No wonder relationships are so backwards these days and that NH and SS were so popular. They're both based completely on SEX..... and that's it

I liked NS bc it reminded me of the actual relationships I had been in. 2 of the girlfriends I had became my girlfriends not bc of rippling biceps, but bc I helped them break through some really depressing garbage where they hated themselves and in return they showed me loyalty and affection. There was NO creepy stalking or MURDER attempts involved (Though there were plenty of sore female bums :chuckle: ) And none of them were goddang M cups.

Hell the majority of women are not even D Cups. You don't need a moundful of melon for your juicer to get what you need, hell a B or C cup can be quite the handful

2988283-character_large_332x363_master-r

I loved Sakura bc she was NATURAL up until that stupid 693 confession. The fact that Sarada's being so sexually objectified even though she's THIRTEEN YEARS OLD is evidence of how screwed up NH and SS really were. They were superficial at best and the decision was made to go down that direction. Their supporters now draw Boruto.

LOOK AT HOW TWISTED AND DISGUSTING IT IS NOW

Yup. That's the point. No need for a character to be super sexy to be liked. Actually, no manga has this issue except Naruto.

Look at rukia from bleach she doesn't have big kittens but is the best character in the series.

I think the popularity that Naruto has in the West that completely outweigh the one in Japan had something to do with the fact that the west had a more prominent and vocal fanbase.

Naruto garnered the attention of internationally popular stars such as Soulja Boy, who loves Naruto so much that he made an album cover inspired by Kishi's artwork:

qd0F5Ti.jpg

and when he tweeted out:

tumblr_mdk8gmHgf51qeprsoo1_500.png

that gain 30k+ retweets to this day.

EVEN SNOOP DOG POSTED THIS VIDEO as him dressed up in Naruto's clothes and called himself Snoopruto while smoking a blunt LOL...

Chris Brown is known to like anime as well. When making his Black Pyramid album lately, he was inspired by the language, culture and anime from Japan. Like him posing with samurai swords on his back (with people commenting about Naruto references), him painting animeDBZ, Kuroko's Basketball, Megaman, Astroboy, Ninja Scrollsmore DBZ, DBZ ON HIS HOOD BRO CHILL. (There was anther IG post with his BP shirts and Naruto featured on in it & I CANNOT FIND IT asfjrfndizdjkf)

Rap is SO mainstream internationally now that just a shutout from mainstream artist like the ones above me can generate a lot buzz behind them. Hell, even all the 20-something year old dropout douches in my classes have no problem mentioning that they love Naruto, and wear Naruto printed shirts, skateboards, and gear around here. Like do you ever see this with Bleach? One Piece?

And it's just sort of a cool thing to like Naruto and certain other anime here in the states, so it's not a complete surprise to me that Kishi would overlook his fans in Japan to hear out the ones here since Japanese fans aren't too wild about Naruto. It's starting to show with Boruto as well, with him saying that his favorite food is hamburgers, an iconic western food that just screams 'merica.

Didn't Japanese fans say that the western fans ruined the series or something? Cause I don't doubt them at all when they say that.

this is very true, i've also noticed that the western fanbase are more vocal than the japanese fanbase. there seem to be more nh fans in most of the forums i've been to and social media like youtube commenting how much they hate sakura and how cute hinata is. and that's how nh became canon. the franchise just generates more money here so they wanted to appease the nh fans and the sakura haters here as much as possible. i guess most people just don't care about pairings.

They will probably keep it going till they can send it abroad and hope it makes that cash they are hoping for. Unless it does so poorly in Japan it not even worth the risk, but they come this far. Once it hits the States well the last barely made anything, and Boruto's movie did better but made nothing compare to the movie made in Japan. Also the Naruto fanbase is more used to not paying for it and watching it online, with a large amount of the people paying for it left. A lot of people say they prefer watching the subs over the dub. People are watching it now may be less interested in watching it again when it hits the states. Also hopefully the people at cartoon network will be less then enthusiastic about it and just put it where they currently have Naruto, if they judge it even worth the cost of dubbing it. Hopefully all that (and more) add up then if it fails by that point it will die, permanently....but hopefully it dies before that point.

Well I just think it comes down to one thing with some of the western fanbase you have to keep a few things in mind with them, now I am not say they are all bad most of us on here are western fans but unlike the others with NH and SS we know what is right and what makes a good story however with the other side of the western fanbase and how the view a female and what they think a female should be like and also what they want in a girl aka how all woman to NH and SS fans should act.

-They hate woman who do not do what the man says, the main reason the Hinata fanboy love girls like Hinata is cause she is a girl that will always do what Naruto says no matter what and she will never yell at him for anything even if he missed her birthday and all that.

Now that is something that NH fans love mainly the males of that side as one on youtube said on Naruto couples a man needs to be the one in charge of the relationship not the girl.

-They hate woman that do one thing wrong to the hero, with this one it means anything talk back to the male hero or anything else to the male hero as well as they feel that all they should do is have big breasts and just say yes to everything that main male hero says, because the male watchers will hate them.

its just sadly a sad fact that many people just like the sweet girl that is perfect right from the start and does not any growth cause she has it from the start, will this ever change? Maybe one in the far future when we are all long gone, but its is also up to us to teach our own kids and any kids our family has to show them what is good and what is bad.

like I'm an Uncle and I am teaching them what is good growth and what is bad growth, I feel that it is up to us to show kids who have not yet started to get into anime and Manga to show them what is good, like my niece who is now 12 and she is getting into Manga I told her what ones are good like Sailor Moon and all that.

If we do that then what happened to Sakura may never happen again I mean I even showed my 7 year old nephew who found my old Naruto Vol and he asked why I hide them away, so I told him and showed him.

And when I showed him Hinata he said this, "She looks ugly and Sakura looks pretty." A 7 year old said it I did say how bad Hinata is as well taking my time to tell him why Hinata is bad and what she did. Again he asked me this. "If she loves him why is she hiding behind a tree and watching him suffer?"

In the end he said he was not going to read it as I said how it has ended.

Cool, what was his reaction when you told him about how the story ended and the ninjas in space.
A 7 year old sounds more mature than 90% of the nh fans out and questions things, when what happened to Sakura you 693 and on.
I saw on deviantart was going to have a growth drive and one choice was naruto and commented on why do that when I knew the person would have put Hinata in it and it wouldn't be fun or a challenge if hinata was in it since pretty much everyone on deviantart would vote for her.
You think that genjutsu naruto went through did some brain damage or lobotomies him beating him to her will or hinata has marik's rod.
Just finished season 4 of the clone wars and it's really good so far and the last episodes were great with maul can't wait to see season 5 and more of maul.

Yeah, that's the flaw with my post. I still think people that started from the beginning to chapter 700 checked into Naruto out of either 1) habit or 2) hope/expectation for their ship. Other than that it's just mainstream notoriety. There is literally no other reason to be into Naruto post-Pein, cause the plot sure as hell went to s**t pass the glory days when the Akatsuki were still around.

Look at rukia from bleach she doesn't have big kittens but is the best character in the series.

The difference is, is that Rukia has more power. People are automatically attracted to people with power.

There're SO many pro-NH'ers/Hinata-wankers that think she can beat up Sakura and others just because of her magical Hyuuga/Kaguya linage. And it's the same with Rukia and Orihime. Orihime is weaker than Rukia, which is why people bash her a lot.

I've always wondered how people would feel if Sakura got a sudden power up treatment like Hinata, Naruto and Sasuke did. But ngl I feel like even if Sakura did had some sort of BS power up like three of them did, she'd still get bashed. Dare I say that in a way, she's like the Justin Bieber of the Narutoverse, ya know? It sounds so silly, but like no matter what they do and how much they've grown, they just cannot for the life of them escape their past embarrassments and screw ups. (All except Sakura didn't turn out to be an egotistical idiot.)

The anime had a lot of disappointing fillers, of course people would be turned off. The anime being on a decline started years before the ending.

Casual fans also has as much importance as dedicated, analytical fans, which is why I decided to stop being very serious about what I choose to get into. I feel like we are forgetting that there are fans who just get into Naruto for the most basic of reasons and don't take the morals or lessons seriously because, to them, they are just drawings on pieces of paper, fiction. I'm saying this because my sibling is a Naruto fan, spent money, but cringes anytime I take it seriously.

I'm am saying this for all series, not just Naruto.

@lux: I don't believe it's really power, more so then presence and importance. And likability. There is a lot of NH who ship IR. With IR and Rukia, Kubo did made it clear how important she is when it comes to Ichigo, her status as heroine, and the overall plot. You also have the anime emphasized her points even a little more. Her power was just a bonus. She's also very likable in personality and character traits. Orihime was okay, but wasted potential, which is why people didn't like her. Kubo didn't explore her potential and left a lot of plot points out. I won't say she wasn't important to plot, she is, but it's not hard to see that Kubo had opportunities to give Orihime a decent platform, but didn't or failed/ignored.

I say the same for Kishi, somewhat. I agree, the Sakura hate became a meme, but even without the "haters", she would still have a large hate base. I'm sorry, but I really side with SNS shippers when they argue that Sakura was the third wheel in Team 7. Sakura was a heroine with secondary character's trait. We had to find out about her parents through a movie not everyone will watch or see as canon. We has significant Sakura moments reduced (the POAL for ex.) into pro-SNS. You had the anime exaggerate what fans dislike about her character to make her even more disliked. Despite have important moments, they weren't emphasized, more so, "oh, here's a Sakura moment, enjoy!"

On the other hand, Hinata was a background character with traits that would fit a heroine, if one explores in depth, and I think that's what makes her more likable than Sakura. Hinata had unexplored potential while Sakura was wasted. She was the one who ended off part 1 with her "proud failure" speech, after having a background slightly explored into, and why she seeks validation from Naruto. You have moments like 615, that would fit a heroine more than a background character, and yeah people do find her submissive and shy, but for some NH, with 615, it's not hard to picture her as assertive when she needs to be. A lot o NH also likes how she plays out side of status quo as well. For ex, Hinata having no interest being a ninja, which is why some many people are not angry with Hinata being domestic compared to Sakura. Some anti-NH even mention if Hinata had a bigger importance they wouldn't have minded NH, and that's pretty much one the major reasons why people dislike NH. They hated how important Hinata became suddenly, with The Last. Which is why you see NH adamant that the manga would have been better with Hinata as heroine.

Both Sakura and Orihime were wasted potential, but Kubo only mange to save Orihime, slightly, by keeping her important to the plot and Ichigo, the main character. With Naruto, it was the light shounen-ai version of SNS, with Sasuke taking on the heroine role and Sakura being the honorary mention.

@neonranger

Yes: personality, relevance and backstory plays a huge role in a good character, not just secondary stuff like powerups. Sakura lacked 2/3 of these factors (backstory & relevancy, which she needed badly since she was a main character), whereas Hinata only lacked personality (for the most part). So I could see why fans liked Hinata > Sakura. Hinata just felt like a main character. But it always drives me up the wall at how Hinata was only destined to be Naruto's incubator and used Sakura as her life raft. It's deeply frustrating. (What I was sort of angling towards was the aesthetics of power actually, lol. But power means nothing if you don't use it anyways.)

And again, it goes back to Kishi failing to provide adequate development for both Hinata, Sakura, and all his female characters, I cannot preach this enough. Whether people liked Hinata or Sakura, NS or NH, everyone was let down in some way. He just doesn't know how to make a lead female, make a solid decision and to stick with it. The only real bond that's truly cemented is SNS, I've always believed that. They talk more to each other than their wives ffs.

I'm still upset at those phony interviews he constantly gives just to backpedal on his kitten ups and bad writing. Had Hinata been the heroine from the beginning? I probably wouldn't be here. Things would have been MUCH easier for me tbh.

(As for Orihime and Rukia, while I admire both girls and don't fuss about shipping in Bleach, I can't say much about them... I actually stopped watching Bleach when Aizen was defeated, so I'll just keep quiet about that, haha...)

The thing is that Kishimoto thought by making her an average normal girl would make her relatable. Well she did it remind some of themselves, some of people they know, and some of people they hate. But like you say her backstory is unexplored other then her relationship with Ino. Which is not enough for a heroine or any main character. As I have said before Hinata originally was just a satellite character of Neji, but because Neji got a backstory she was able to gain one as well. Sakura's parents were never allowed to be shown in the manga by all the editors that includes yahagi, which was the one thing that made her different from her teammates. If Kishimoto had used them from the start it could have been an interesting story line.

As for SNS, Kishimoto always had that in the background because he was comfortable with  writing about close male relationships because he has a twin brother. He did get more comfortable with writing about Sakura after marrying his wife and basing Sakura more and more off her. But then his new editors came and told him Sakura was hated. So then he switch to going back and forth between Sakura and Hinata as the eventual love interest. So with his belief he couldn't write a good female character again he double his focus on SNS.

It's a shame too, cause Sakura's father Kizashi has a great, loving personality. I could have seen him being sort of an uncle figure to Naruto (and maybe Sasuke?). He oozes lame dad-jokes and looks like he spoils Sakura with konpeitō and anmitsu on the weekends and burns his afternoon tea c'mon HOW did they pass up on THIS? Like bruh he's a guy with pink hair, I MUST know how his life went along with that. He must have been the most nervous new father EVER. Dumb father-daughter moments oh my GOD KISHI-FREAKING-MOTO.

Sakura is also a first generation shinobi amongst her classmates (Konoha 9) I should think. Some conflict must have risen with that decision as her career path, no? It's dangerous and they know nothing about it. Surely she must have been discouraged from being a shinobi at some point...

And then there's the fact that her family has always been one of civilians whereas all but one (Lee) of the other rookies had some sort of bloodline legacy where previous generations of their family had been shinobi / kunoichi, and every one of them inheriting some sort of kekkei genkai for them to use that automatically gave them an edge over most "normal" shinobi / kunoichi of the same generation, so for Sakura to be able to grow as strong as she did without such a thing - whereas others had such kekkei genkai and family and clan members to turn to for help in such things - really showed growth in that area, especially compared to ones like Naruto and Sasuke, who just kept being handed more and more power-ups and "special connections" left and right.

When the Haruno parents were introduced, the first thing I thought was they'd be the perfect in-laws. They fit in so well with the warm and easy-going attitude NS have around eachother. Naruto and Kizashi would make dad jokes and Sakura and her mom would roll their eyes but then they can't help but smile.

I can't picture Naruto having a conversation with Hinata's dad. The guy who has no sense of formality and calls the head of his village grumpy old man/hag. Hiashi react with the usual grumpy hyuuga face  to everything Naruto says.

I think tenten and temari were in that group too even if temari was relate to a kage.

Yes Kizashi and mebuki would work well with Naruto's personality and goofiness.
I agree naruto probably couldn't hold a conversation with hiashi. But he and Kizashi are the same.

I always wondering why Sakura parents didn't say anything about Sasuke leaving and abandoning his wive , never work , feed , and provide for her and Sarada ..... did they even know how many times their son in law try to kill their daughter ?? Sarada also NEVER EVER in gaiden mention Sakura parents .... i mean logically in gaiden when Sarada searching for information about her father , she should ask something to her grand parents ..... plot hole , plot hole everywhere .....

An out of control man needs a strong woman to control him.
And even a violent woman will become soft and tender to the man she love.

You make some good points and further proof that NS is better than ss. All of Gaiden was a plot hole and everything since than is a bigger plot hole and that's all naruto will ever be now.

Something funny literally just happened to me: I was playing Storm 4 - I still enjoy the games despite it all - and my 4 year old sister comes in wanting to play too. I put it to 2 player and I pick my character. My sister starts scrolling, lands on Sakura. "I like her."

Goes to Ino,"Maybe."

Gets to Hinata, "Oh, she's creepy!"

😂😂😂
