I hate fanboys so much. I know this sounds bad and probably a liar, but I never saw myself as a fanboy because I never saw anything as "flawless." Yeah, I have bypassed flaws in faith that the rest with make up for it, but never really ignored it saying "it is perfect." It's like me and Duke Nukem Forever. Yeah Duke Nukem Forever is flawed and is not a "10/10 game," but I don;t believe it deserves a 3/10 either. It deserves 7/10 at least. I love the game, I had tons of fun, and had no issues. Also like me and being a Halo Fanboy. I love Halo, but not every game was perfect. I don;t really like Halo 4 that well in terms of gameplay and Halo 2 was lackluster. Too much Hype.

I just wish we get out of this phase because it starting o give a bad name to real fans.

I guess you hate me as well.   Because I'm a Assassins Creed fanboy. Or more accurately was one. Before Black Flag I've been a hardcore fanboy of AC. I've even loved and defended the first one which everyone hated. But after Black Flag, I stopped being that person. I still like AC but not like before.

 

I also wish that we as people can grow out of that phase but maybe there's a fanboy or fangirl in all of us. Some of us grow up and see that being one is stupid while some of us remain in that phase probably for the rest of our lives. I guess it all depends on each individual.

It won't always show by being involved online, or engaging in analysis and arguments about people and things that don't actually exist. And with maturity and life experience, perspectives and focus will surely (okay, hopefully) change.

 

But continuing through life having a passionate interest in something that sets your mind to thinking, expands your imagination and worldly horizons, teaches you something about life or yourself or others, connects with your own experience, or motivates you to create is never a bad thing -- whether you're 8 or 80.

Agreed but I wasn't talking about denying being a fan or growing out of that phase. I was referring to fanboys/fangirls. The hardcore ones. The ones who will defend something no matter how bad it is or how bad it became.

People need to grow out of that phase. There's nothing wrong with being a fan of something and having a passion towards that thing. But it shouldn't blind you.

It's an excuse to defend naruto.
But shonen itself may be "sexist", because it caters to boys.
So you will see developed female body (even when the mc is female character) and the fact that all of them droll over the male main character.
Just like shojo make boys super handsome, cool, hot, and for some reason droll over the female main character.

I just clicked naruto episode 425 in youtube out of curiosity because it happen to be recommend by youtube itself, [maybe because sometimes i still watch RTN trailer].

The amount of people who bash sakura is outrageous. Its save to say 99,99% who comment hate her because she is useless and always think of sasuke even though they facing madara and kaguya, she always thinking of sasuke. Some ahole even said she can't stop thinking of sasuke kitten even though they are at war.

 

Its really sad ... no one speak for her anymore. So NS fans/ Sakura fans really is moved on. The girl never stop thinking of sasuke after many murder attempt, kishi? plan new SCFI manga??? JUST BURN YOU BASTARD!!!

Can't speak for everyone. But for me. I see no reason to try to reason with haters, espicialy when author himself supports them. I couln't reason with them in the past. I want even try now. It would be just wasting my time. And my nerves. Entirely pointless!

 

But I will also always love the real Sakura. And nobody will be able to take that away from me. So in a way I have moved on. Beside this site, I don't visit other Naruto related places (beside tumblr). But I'll never forget the real Sakura, and Naruto.

i kind of agree to an extent...hinata over talking about naruto's fine because yes there ARE things naruto [the main character] has done...protecting the village, changing everyone lives for the better, has a hyper sunshiny attitude ect. i know the point is but hinata never saw that...but WE the fans DID.
 
meanwhile sakura only over-talks about the anti-hero of the story [sasuke] who has caused nothing BUT pain for her, naruto, almost destroying the village, sending konoha into shinobi world war 4!. but, the haters miss the BIG picture.
 
sakura WAS falling for naruto but, SP, and SJ screwed it up, and kishi like an idiot pushover LET them.they all missed out on how hinata was more of a naruto fangirl just like sakura USED to be with sasuke untill she spent more time with naruto, and started noticing him, and the narusaku bond started growing as theirs with sasuke started breaking.

SP even lies with the anime OP sequences by (sometimes) showing a girl(s) doing something big or cool, but nothing of the sort happening in the series. Like, how many people were hoping that there would be extra stuff showing some of the girls fighting Konan as it was shown from one of the mid-series OPs?

As I said in other places, Sakura's crush on Sasuke and Hinata's crush on Naruto were exactly the same overall. It was just that Sakura was loud about her crush while Hinata was silent, but the shallow reasoning was still comparable in that they only liked their crush based on who they believed they were in their ideal fantasy view and not who they actually are in reality. Sakura was actually developing out of that shallow thinking pretty much as soon as part two began while Hinata had, if anything, regressed further into that line of thinking. Hinata never truly got to know Naruto (hell, they barely spoke at all) nor understand him and his feelings, dreams, or anything to any degree. She still just saw Naruto far more as a fantastical ideal to desperately cling to, a security blanket, rather than as an actual love interest.

And what reason is there to even defend her anymore? She turned out to be terrible garbage, she isn't even worth the effort to defend. I wasted so much time and effort defending her, and now I can't stand to even think of her.

Naruto did everything right with female characters. It's not noticeable at all and Sakura is among the best female character that fan arts are very accurate. Hinata is a well-written character that has many strong words and complex developments.

But much like every other area of potential in this manga, it was all squandered and a lot of us ended up looking pretty silly for putting our faith in an idiot. Thus, as far as the actual canon is concern, Sakura is useless to the narrative. If you cut her out of the storyline, events might change here and there, but the end result doesn't change in the slightest. Even Sarada, the way she is written, could very well have been Karin's kid.

I disagree with this to an extent.  Without Sakura things would definitely have been different.  She was a central part and driving force to Naruto`s character arc.  Without her, Naruto would have died after he lost Kurama.  While her potential was squandered, to say things would have been different without her is a bit of an untrue statement

I think you're misunderstanding things. I'm speaking from a storytelling standpoint, not an in-universe standpoint. There are plenty of ways to resolve Naruto surviving after having Kurama extracted from him without having Sakura heal him while still having the same impact on the plot and the characters. Maybe the Sage of Six Paths keeps Naruto and Sasuke alive. Maybe their willpower is that strong. From a storytelling standpoint, it didn't really amount to anything in the end. The narrative is the same. Naruto survives, Naruto and Sasuke fight Madara together. Naruto then goes to fight Sasuke.

 

As to the driving force in Naruto character arc, you're referring to the POAL presumably, but keep in mind that Kishimoto nullified the impact of that all the way back in chapter 470 when he had Naruto say that he wants to save Sasuke for himself rather than his promise to Sakura (utterly ridiculous,OOC and a massive retcon, but it is what it is). Not to mention that Sakura played no role in saving Sasuke, contrary to claiming that she and Naruto would do it together. The promise lost all meaning, hence making it and Sakura superfluous to the story.

It is rather sad that this series took a chapter or 2 to say "Women can fight!" yet resulted negatively, while another series only took 3 pages or a minute of an episode to get it addressed. You got to suck really hard to lose a very quick message run-by.
