Writer and manga creator Daisuke Satō passed away due to ischemic heart disease on March 22. He was 52. His immediate family have already held a funeral service, and his younger sister Yūko Shinmyō was the chief mourner.
This is sad news! :( May he rest in peace!
Who knows what will happen with HOTD now....

Dang......Man, I wonder what will happen to the series now.
I know people might say expecting more is selfish, but problem is there is no greater sadness than an artist who was unable to finish their work....I hope maybe they can finish it some how or something.

That's terrible. He was always really ill though, that's why HSOTD got put on hold.
He was a great Mangaka, HSTOD was one of my favorite manga, Why can't the manga gods take Kishi instead?

I heard HOTD was created by 3 author , one is the story guy who wrote the story and 2 is the artist guy the one that draw the image. Anyway i really love HOTD i hope he find his place besides the creator and rest in peace. I hope the other 2 author will finish the manga, it's been on hold for too long now.

Well after this Shouji Sato will NEVER return to HOTD since the creator and the one behind the story has sadly passed away. RIP Daisuke-sama.
Yyubie@ that's incorrect. Daisuke Sato is the writer and creator of HOTD while Shouji Sato is co-creator and the artist. Shouji can continue the manga if he wishes to since he shares the same ideas as Daisuke and he knew the guy very well. But that's a big" if". I have to remind folks that Shouji is originally a hentai artist and he likes or prefers to do such work over returning to work on this manga sadly. He's also the creator and artist of his other manga Triage X another great series that is still on hiatus too to this day. Let's face it people the guy likes the perverted stuff more, it's his specialty.

I hope you're right James I really want to know what's going to happen to Takashi and his group. But the fact that it's been almost four years since the last chapter of HOTD was released I fear for the future of this manga.
