Wow, love it. Kishi drew Naruto so nice here... And it would have been expected to be Team Minato centered. I even suspected it's one of the two, haha.

Thanks for sharing, and woah I knew Obito was going to be on the cover, but not in the way I was expecting. Though the cover does look pretty sick, I like how Kishi drew Naruto similar to when he told Obito that he's still Obito Uchiha. Team Minato on the cover was kinda expected to see them on the cover especially when it came to Rin, I already had feeling she'd be there on way or another.

Honestly, a Team Minato cover would've been much more suited for the earlier parts of the arc. I actually hate how Kishi has to shoehorn Naruto in almost every cover. I really would've loved it if Kishi had done a Team Minato cover without NARUTO in it earlier. That would've really stirred up the feels.

well... naruto is the main star along with obito in this volume... So it was impossibile naruto's lacking in this cover.

Definitely, If you look back at Volume 65. Naruto wasn't on the cover for that because that focused on Sasuke and the 4 hokages. The covers in a way are like a small tease about what the Volume is about. So seeing how we've got this as this cover for Volume 68 makes sense because it was the focus for the majority of the volume at the time.

 

Though I think the question now is about Volume 69 (this current one), it does only have two chapters to go. The volume's focus will most likely end either this upcoming chapter or Chapter 667. We know that Naruto and Sasuke will be on the cover one way or another, along with Sakura and Karin considering the spotlight they've gotten throughout the recent chapters. As far as Sakura and Karin go, do you guys think they'll be in the outfits they're currently wearing or them in their regular outfits?

No, what I mean is, if Kishi wanted to draw a Team Minato cover, then he should've done it earlier. I feel that this volume's illustration lacks impact. This whole arc was really more about Kakashi and Obito's conflict, not Naruto's conflict vs Obito, which is why I wanted Team MInato getting a volume cover all to themselves.

1. Obito, Madara, Naruto and Sasuke.

2. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Karin.

 

eh I dunno which one. Right now it looks like Madara and Obito will get a lot of focus, I think Obito will save Naruto eventually too. But this is very late in the volume. Karin and especially Sakura's panel time can't be ignored either, but there's not much plot focus on them spesifically.

So this is not 100% however I got most of my fanmade cover for Volume 69. I'm also currently working on a second one, and I'll have that one up in a couple weeks during spring break.    

 

 

 

This seems like the most accurate as this is what was the focus in the volume. 

 

 

Note: I also know that the quality is at it's finest either.

Anyway I bet the volume will be called absolutely and it will have Naruto Sakura Sasuke Karin on the cover. I looked on previous volumes. Kishi names volumes and draws the cover after the most impactful scene or context in the respective volume and Naruto and Sasuke dying and Sakura and Karin's desperation to absolutely save them is easily the most impactful one.

I've been noticing that too, and seeing how Kishi names his volumes and draws the cover with the most impactful moment. Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and Karin are the most likely to appear on the cover.

Wonder when the cover will appear since the release of the volume is on May...

Well it's been a couple weeks since Volume 69's Cover came out, and I gotta say that rereading the volume multiple times helped me determine why Kishi drew it for Volume 69 instead of this current one. The hope we had that Sakura and Karin were gonna be on the cover would've been appropriate, but if you look at it carefully; Guy makes his appearance in 664 which is after Naruto and Sasuke were close to death. Then again in a flashback  + ending of Chapter 666. Finally his appearance 667 & 668 lead him to the eighth gates. So in a senses it's kinda like okay Something big happens to Guy. On this note, I get where Kishi was going, but at the same time Guy doesn't appear till the last 4 chapters of the volume. Though we can also take Volume 64 as another example where Neji's symbol made it on the cover when that doesn't occur till the last 3 chapters of that volume. Though you do see the back of Naruto shadowed out in the cover as well which gives you the notion that something happens to him.      

 

Now to discuss on my predictions for this current Volume (#70)'s cover.

 

So far the focus is on the complete original team 7, and that could happen considering how much content we've gotten of them.

 

The second option is Naruto, Sasuke, and The Sage of Six Paths which took place from Chapter 670-671 (#2-3 for volume).

 

  

That's what it appears to be as of now, I mean non of us thought that Volume 69 was gonna be 11 Chapters. So let's not assume that this current volume will end at 678. Maybe Kishi will extend this volume to chapter 680, and that by itself will make this volume consisted of 12 chapters.  Last time I checked Volume 61 (Itachi and Sasuke VS Kabuto) was the last volume to include 12 chapters.  I mean we'll just have to wait and see when this volume is completed. 

 

Speaking of volume releases, does anyone know when Volume 70 comes out?  I mean we did figure out that Volume 69 came out in May 2nd after Volume 68 was released in Japan. 

 

What do you guys think?

I execpt for volume 70 to end on 678, though like luckychi7 said it might end on 680, probally be a way to make the volumes go from chapter 1-10 like patteren again.
