#987775 Kakashi should have actually trained Sakura.

Posted by BlueStarSaber on 20 September 2022 - 02:01 AM

Its implied that before the chunin exams Kakashi mostly focused on general training with a heavy focus on teamwork. He trained them as a group and anything original to them was due to their own private training. Which to be fair it was implied he only had them for a couple of months. Kakashi was her jounin-sensei it was his job to train her in at least the basics and try to find out what she could specialize in to help out her team. Its is possible that he would have done more individual training if he had them longer.

The thing is how are they suppose to work as a team if they don't have a role?

Naruto: Shadow clone and his endurance make him a great forward scout and minion-tank.
Sasuke: Mid-Close range DPS.
Sakura:...Support?

Sakura didn't have any abilities till midway through the chunin exam where apparently Kakashi did train her in genjutsu. My guess is someone pointed out to Kishimoto that even among the girls she was the only one without any specials abilities outside of the default all learn at the academy. So, this was him addressing that. Then considered the mattered settled. Which is the problem of Kishimoto not kakashi as he never does the whole, "they must always be equal," obsession with her as he does with Naruto and Sasuke. Which leaves to her being constantly left in the dust, only given power ups when people point out how useless she was, and then after getting a power up Kishi considered it good enough.

Kishimoto does not seem to get the show not tell when it comes to sakura. Like with her seal like yes we know its strong with tsunade but we only see glimpses of it with sakura. She should of had a full on on fight with it

While 8 don't mind the 6 episode seasons too much. The biggest problem with them is that some felt like longer movies with filler and would of benefited if they were 10 episode season at least

Shame she can't say her opinion in regards to her character when it's the truth

Cat gave the best excuse for how it possibly works; a single set is incomplete and damages the eyes causing blindness, combining two sets somehow stabilizes the eyes' power, and also restores the sight.

As for story-wise the problems with it was a mixture of kishimoto's habit of trying to keep powers and Ninjas balance, a reason for Itachi's actions, and his obsession of the Sasuke Naruto rivalry.

1) Kishimoto tends to prefer not to make broken characters or abilities. Characters tend to be specialist that are good at one form of fighting while poorer in other fields to justify teamwork...that never really happens. While powerful abilities tended to have draw backs.

From what I recall Dosu of the Sound was killed because Kishi thought he was too well balanced compared the rest of the genin during the chunin exam. Neji and Lee were close range fighter that lack range attacks. Gaara was a defensive stationary fighter, Shikamaru's shadow powers lack offensive abilities at the time, Kankuro relied on surprised and his puppets, Temari her fan, and Shino his bugs. Look at any fight Dosu was in was very versatile with his vibration gauntlet that made any fight lean in his favor unless there was a massive power discrepancy.

Team 7 should had in part one in theory had: Naruto was their close combat focus fighter that could scout, Sasuke a close-mid range ninjutsu fighter, Sakura a long range genjutsu support, and Kakashi an all-rounder with a problem with his stamina.

The Rasenshuriken couldn't be thrown at first for example of powerful abilities having limits and damages the users showing drawbacks. So, the same with the Mangekyo a fire that can't be put on, instant unbreakable illusions, and summons a giant invincible armor spirit all for the price of slowly losing your eye sight.

2) Originally, at least before he finally drew him, Itachi was suppose to be evil. An evil power hungry monster that murder his entire family to gain the power of the mangekyo sharingan and his reason for not Killing Sasuke was; he needed him to be his second set to gain even more power. Of course that was abandon for what both consumed both Kishimoto and the story all things to fuel that drawn out Naruto-Sasuke conflict.

3) As all should know Kishimoto was obsessed with the final battle being a final fight between Sasuke and Naruto and spent large portions in trying to justify it. One of his obsession was Sasuke and Naruto must be equal in power no matter how strong Naruto got. The thing due to being the container of Kurama once he gained access to his power Naruto would become instantly one of the strongest ninjas to ever exist. How was Sasuke suppose to match this? At first Kishimoto gave him the curse seal, but he clearly thought it would be stupid if it got passed the level 2 staged. So that left him with things like the Sage mode which Sasuke doesn't seem the type, or power up the sharingan till it could match the power of the nine-tailed fox. He went with the latter. So, the more powerful Naruto got the more broken the Mangekyo sharingan had to be to match him.

Dosu being wasted was one of the few problems I had with part 1 given how interesting of a villain he was becoming with him learning that orochimaru just sees him as a pawn to lure in sasuke and then plans to kill sasuke to get back at him. Personally If I rewrote Naruto I'd probably would of had him fight Sakura in the final round of the chunin exam or when the invasion happens so that Sakura has a rematch against on of trhe sound ninja she was helpless against during the forest of death.

You know it probably would have been better for the uhchia if the sasano had been a power that got from other than from their eyes. like it  was an ancient spirit avatar or something they created or discovered to protect themselves against enemies like taijustu uses or giant summons or tailed beasts which their shiragan abilities really don't work well against. With them doing some kind of ritual or binding contract for them to awaken it.

Honestly the more I think about Sasuke should have been the final opponent of the series, he should have had a story arc more like that of Harry Osborn in the Sam Rami trilogy. Be Naruto's enemy for a bit have a fight, learn he was wrong and help him in the final battle to redeem himself. Whether or not he dies like Harry I think is up for debate.

"the kid turns into a psychopathic killer when he's like 15" To be fair, that is a lot of the cast. Again, it was suppose to increase the tragedy of his fall. He was suppose to be the ultimate what if Naruto turned evil, but it was dropped by the end because that all but states that Sakura was the most important person to Naruto and losing her would be the thing to make him fall. Obito was a lot like Naruto and therefor he was a lot like Kushina, and what was Kushina suppose to be some psychic the knew he would turn evil so she shouldn't interact with him?

You know part of me always wondered why Obito when he was naruto's enemy didn't try to go after sakura to try and break him, since the team 7 similarities to his team were obvious but it was never brought up. Part of me wonders if kishimoto was originally supposed to make a situation where it looks like Sakura has supposedly "died" in a similar manner to Rin in front Naruto in went Naruto begins to feel despair, but doesn't break in the end to help make obito realize that he gave up to quickly or something. for then Sakura to turn out to be alive due to her medical justu. Or obito when good tells Sakura about himself, rin and Kakashi to her and why she is important to naruto etc and dies protecting her saving the rin of the next genration so that naruto doesn't end up like him.

Though I assume when Studio Pierott and the editors forced their Hianata agenda they made Kishimoto drop it and her involment in the obito battle and instead made him kill Neji to have Naruto feel that despair and have Hianata "save" him from it.

If kishimoto had given arcs for part 1 before the chunin exams, I would of liked to see him teach sakura genjustu

Japan like the more lighthearted series, while the west/America like the more serious ones. A sort cultural difference I believe

That part about the anime being popular is only because its on a time slot with no competition

#987237 When did Naruto jump the shark in your opinion?

Posted by BlueStarSaber on 16 June 2022 - 08:44 AM

Emotional manipulation. This is evil, even if she thought she was doing this for his own good.
This scene was just horrible and an unreasonable attempt on destroying Narutos' and Sakuras' Relationship, implying that their is a fundamental lack of trust, honesty and (platonic) intimacy between those two that forced Sakura to act the way she did.

This was just so painful.

Yeah I don't think sakura was trying to manipulate naruto here with his feelings, given how angry she got when he accused her of lying.

I feel like a lot of us have "moved" on from this forum, not for a lack of interest or fading interest in the ship itself, but rather because it has been 8 years more or less... we've practically discussed all that needs to be discussed. We can't change the outcome of the story and there seems to be no intention of making any sort of fix despite how awful Boruto's numbers are for both the manga and anime. Doesn't mean we don't still visit, like I'm doing just now, lol. Nah, NaruSaku is always gonna hold that number one spot to me for best shipping, regardless of how many new pairings or confirmed sails I've gained/will gain/etc. It's got great chemistry, it's got good characters, heck the colors compliment each other.

And I'm not just saying all this because a particular friend of mine happens to have, from the looks of it, slipped off the deep end and suddenly decided to become a NaruHina shipper... *cough

I think that what happens when you don't get any new content exexpt fan works. Which likely won't change unless naruto becomes a multiverse franchise like marvel and dc with a narusakverse.

Also the fact the form has a problem letting new members join right now

#986964 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by BlueStarSaber on 07 May 2022 - 03:59 PM

No! And in case it wasn't obvious the first time... HELL NO!!!

The problem with that whole damn scene is not only does it aim to invalidate Naruto's feelings, it also just hugely contradicts the person he had been shown to be in 15 years of the manga, and really makes it feel like he never understood ANYONE he had helped. And that BS is why fans in Japan began to call Naruto the ultimate scumbag, on top of calling Sakura a terrible woman, when their fury should be at Studios Pierrot's shenanigans and the crappy writers for The Last!

I don't think it was thw fans that were calling sakura a terrible women but kikitteno if sakura moved on from sasuke.

#986963 Bail o' Lies Nickname of Boruto's character for the summaries.

Posted by BlueStarSaber on 07 May 2022 - 03:55 PM

Well two things, unless Kishiomoto or someone else important saw that message it doesn't matter anymore than our comments here, and men have always hated this kind of romantic pairings. Its been hated by men since the dawn of literature itself. Yet, there are still hundreds of stories every year with that type of romantic pairing. Why? Because some women love it. SS can endure because of that, despite the criticism. Since, its the same for thousands of other awful romances in stories out there. So, it doesn't really matter if the dad loves it or not, it matters if his daughters do.

Well apprantly kishimoto did hear the message to an extent, because apprantly according to retrospectgreg kishimoto was finally told by an editor or assistant that the main reason that people hated sakura, was because of her feelings for sasuke.

Which I think lead him to do gaiden to try a do damage control on the now boruto project coming out at the time, though I don't think he succeed at all with that and made it worse.

Well the problem with trying to appeal those type of female shipper fans is that they are not the targeted market for a fansty shonen series and clearly not enough to make the profits naruto used to. Many ways the se could be said with reylo in star wars.

From the way it was apprantly worded I don't think that father's daughters liked it ether and even if they I did I doubt the father wwould of let them continue reading naruto if he thought it was giving them a bad message.
