Awesome chapter worthy of a week's break that leaves me wanting for more. Just about everything I wanted to say has already been said for this chapter, so I'll keep it short. Sakura was really badass this chapter. I assumed she would be a lot more emotional and lose her cool when Gaara told her Kuama was extracted from Naruto, so I was pretty shocked at her level of composure. Glad to see her being a hero and not crying like a helpless and hopeless you-know-what. Nothing wrong with crying, but save that for after Naruto's been saved. Now....getting to dat CPR...hell yeah, had a big grin on my face. But honestly, I'm getting really tired of Kishi putting Sakura and Naruto into these situations where Naruto is always unaware of the things Sakura does for Naruto. STAHP.

 

The way team Taka and Oro blitzed Spiral Zetsu and the shinsusenju was pretty metal. Annnd Karin now has those chakra chains like Kushina. Uh, okay. I wonder if that's some kind of kkg. Still think SK and its reasoning is utter garbage, just saying...but good for them.

 

Madara....wow. I really have no words. Once again, almost everything I wanted to say has already been said. One thing I'd like to note though; When Obito became the Juubi's jinchuuriki, he created a problem for himself where he became susceptible to senjutsu abilities. With Madara, he's also become the Juubi's jinchuuriki, but he has Hashi's Sage Mode. So did Madara just overcome his one and only weakness? O_o Anyways we now have Madara, Gaara, Sakura, and Naruto converging on the battlefield where Kakashi, Minato and Zetsu/Obito are fighting....I have a bad feeling about this one. We may end up witnessing more than just one death. And if Minato's gonna get axed, all I ask from Kishi, is just one more convo. between Minato and his beloved daughter-in-law Sakura-chan.

For those who think Minato let Kushina die remember this half chakra were seal in Naruto, the other half in Minato body with the reaper death seal jutsu. Meaning he couldn't put this half in Kushina since once the other half is inside of him, he die. PLus the fact that they were both stab and Kushina pregnancy and extraction, yeah, I guess she was beyond saving for him back then. And It took chakra out of him to put the 1st half in Naruto.

There is a bit of enjoyment I see in Madara becoming the jubbi jinchurki though. Not many series actually do this deal where the villain apporaches the highest power they seek, most have it prevented, cut the villian off from the power they sought only granting them a portion, or then the villian cannot control what they sought. Other times when the villain does get the power, they get defeated by some other means like a strong imprisionment or seal to banish them elsewhere forever. Aizen in Bleach was the most recent in any anime I could remember but as strong as he was, when Ichigo came in to overpower him, it was a short attack not an epic battle. At least in fighting madara we may get the heroes facing the super powered villian and actually win, thats what Im hoping for a good battle. I mean Obito was an imperfect host, he had a nine tails subsitute and a small porition of the 8 tails with his only known weakness being nature chakra, the setup of that fight was perfect, ninjutsu was all but near useless due to the rinnegan but nature chakra worked but was too small, it wasnt until kurama told naruto to combine his sage and tailed beast modes to bring up the damage. Sasuke and Jugo tagged teamed to do the same with with a nature chakra enhanced sussano.

 

Now Madara, its literally the epitome of power in this universe. He is practically perfect as the jinchukri having 2 rinnegan (almost), all the tailed beasts (missing half of kurama), and has a sage mode to protect and use natural energy. Its literally the worst combination, he has his natural uchiha powers, his fire abilities, all the sharigan powers he knows, all the benefits of the rinnegan mainly chakra absorbtion, has the ability to call in any of the 6 path powers, can switch between sharigan and rinnegan at will, can call on the juubi, can use sage mode to protect himself from natural energy attacks and auto heal himself, has the senju wood style to enhance himself further with his fire style, and has a super powered sussano.. Its literally the worst enemy for the heroes to face, any ninjutsu they use can be absorbed, any natural energy attacks can be guarded, the eyes provide many problems, and even if they do land a strong hit, he will just heal it with his power.

 

Really I had a nap recently and I had a dream that in this fight naruto and sasuke use their tailed beast sage mode armored in sussano combination attack but longer and basically use this in a fight against madara using his super sussano in a godzilla style clash, I mean its like the fight against madara may go into a battle of giants. Just imagine how sweet it would be to see this clash.

I'm kinda surprised people still think there is a chance other pairings will happen. I'm mean, Kishi made it pretty obvious on both accounts, Karin loves Sasuke and is the one trying to save him, Sakura loves Naruto and is the one trying to save him. Plus, I honestly don't think Kishi had to draw so many different panels of Sakura giving Naruto CPR, but he did, he spent a lot of panel time on Sakura's efforts. I agree this is Sakura being as professional as possible but its obvious that she is extremely emotional at this moment. After Naruto is resuscitated I'm sure we will see all of Sakura's emotions pour out, its just that right now, she is fighting to save the one she loves.

Agreed on Sakura. It's pretty much a given that she will let her emotions come out sooner or later. I just love that she hasn't let that happen yet. She's actually not giving up and doing everything in her power to save Naruto. She has her game face on instead of bawling her eyes out, even if her eyes do suggest her fears.

Naruto will probably NOT be resuscitated. Calling it, again. Madara's most definitely on his way to Minato as well, and god knows he is way faster and stronger than anyone else. I have a feeling that the sealing will fail/not work. Then, Naruto will actually die (not permanently or for long, of course). This is absolutely necessary to get the audience and characters to the highest point of despair and hopelessness from a narrative point of view. And I will LOVE that - especially the return of hope afterwards.

As far as Madara goes, he is done very well. There, I said it. Madara is truly the first villain in this story that has pretty much succeeded with literally no army capable of stopping him. I don't know about you guys, but I just got a lot more respect for Kishimoto. He's doing what all storytellers are too afraid to do, especially in this genre: actually making a completely impregnable wall from all sides that must be climbed (and indeed will be climbed sooner or later) by the heroes. Of course, nothing is 'impregnable' and the real catharsis will come from the success of the protagonists in this insurmountable task.

Okay, why is everyone so afraid of a SasuSaku moment happened at this very moment? It's not going to happen. This is why Karin was brought into play. Why do people keep forgetting that Karin loves Sasuke too and that Kishimoto purposely set it up so she would go? You don't need Sakura going if Karin is already there. I get you want Sakura to have that open choice between the two boys, but come on, that's pretty petty right now. The scene is supposed to be a huge emotional one with Naruto and Sasuke dying and you want a petty scene where Sakura has to choose between Naruto and Sasuke?

Some of you even think that if she knew about Sasuke, she would just abandon Naruto right then and there, but I doubt it. There is a good chance that Sakura wouldn't even know of Sasuke condition at all and I know people are going to use this in arguments. Which again is such a petty argument. I hate this one.

Sasuke has been on the battlefield the whole time and Sakura didn't worry about Sasuke once nor even thought about him. Why all of a sudden now? Because he is dying? If Kishi wanted Sakura to be by Sasuke, he would have set it up that way. Instead she is by Naruto's side keeping him alive. She teared up even at the thought, but kept her composure.

As for "lack of emotion" some are claiming. She is a medical ninja. Just like a real world doctor who is trained to put duty before emotion, she is putting what needs to be done first. It's not like Karin who is thrashing out erratically out of pure emotional trauma or Hinata who gets emotional and trips giving up. She is the strongest of the three. She'll be emotional when Naruto is alive and wakes up. 

It reminds me of that scene in the movie City of Angels where Maggie the doctor is trying to save an Old Man's life by literally massaging his heart. The old man dies anyway and she tells the family with a calm composure. She then goes to a secret staircase and starts crying her eyes out thinking she could have done more to save the man's life. That's what this scene is to me. Sakura is hold back because she has not given up hope yet and when it is all said and done, then she will feel the weight of the emotion. Still, the scene is very emotional internally (no pun intended) and that's where really the magic is. It's not on Sakura's face, it's what she is feeling in her heart.

I wouldn't have it any other way because Sakura is NOT Hinata, she is NOT Karin. She is a strong, yet stubborn girl who never gives up. People want to say that Hinata never gives up and yet we just had a scene where she did and broke down. Here we have Sakura doing the exact opposite of that and not giving up and not letting her emotions cloud her judgement.

 

This is how real story writing is supposed to be. Not just....as Nostaliga Critic..."UUUUNNNNNCCCLLLLLEEEE BEEEEEEEENNNNN OOOHHH"

It also helps that she had her meltdown in chapter 261, when she found out that extracting a bijuu kills the host.

She has had months to prepare for the possibility. She is keeping it under control right now, because it is necessary.

I don't think that person is Karin. She doesn't know where Sasuke is because she can't sense him anymore, and I believe she'll find him but not so fast. I think her pajamas reaches down to her ankles too, it's not that short.

 

But who else is remaining? Did Jiaraya suddenly come back alive, everyone else is on the battlefield so who else is there? Unless Yamato....stupid stupid stupid me, how could I forget the most convenient medic, the only person that can definitely save him. Kabuto, it's freaking Kabuto, who just casually managed to walk into the battlefield unnoticed, and he's good now thanks to Itachi's Jutsu, and he would have been able to sense Sasuke because he is also a Sage, so ofcourse the only person it could be is Kabuto, because the only person that can save him and maybe even give him a power-up is Kabuto.

 

Which makes me wonder if Anko is also joining the battlefield or if she is still unconcious or hopefully she remembered poor Yamato and went to save him...it will make the YamKo(?) fans happy.

never in my life...have I ever re-read a chapter so much.  This is...beyond AMAZING. Like everything about this chapter is absolutely... AMAZING. LOL. I'm sorry, but I'm still trying to recover from the shock & I'm trying to talk without sounding stupid. Sakura, my baby. She is a kittening badass. This chapter just proves it once again.   & dat speech though.... omg. It's like she's basically saying Naruto's dream is also her's    (or am I wrong? lol) I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER!

 

btw: lol at those saying that we narusaku fans don't know the difference between CPR & a kiss. Like, lol... stop trying to be a smartass cause it ain't working. It just makes you look desperate.

Im sorry, I have to say this.

The idea to put forth to tell Sakura that Sasuke is also dying and that she has to make a choice really is such a weak and petty argument to try and make. Also, think about this, it would be so cruel to do as it will mean that Sakura would be a called a "B-word" no matter what choice she makes.  If she stays with Naruto, NH and SS call her a "B-word" and selfish. If she leaves for Sasuke she will also be called a "B-word" and a fangirl. Doing it will ruin Sakura's character even more and she is just now getting more respect.

I'd say not do it at all. Don't even tell Sakura about Sasuke's condition and let the fans speculate all they want. That is the least damage you can do and keep things as civil as you can.
