Next up of the Hidden Mist's six competitors for the Kage Grand Prix, I introduce a Kenjutsu expert who is seeking to be a part of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, like Chojuro is and how Suigetsu wishes to resurrect the group. Meet Musashi, the two sword style shinobi.

 

As a young boy, Musashi had been trained by his father Kojiro in the ways of Kenjutsu, with Kojiro's hope Musashi would rise to join the ranks of the illustrious Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. Musashi was driven for sure to achieve this dream he and his dad shared, and it showed for sure that he would be able to wield the twin fangs, Kiba, with both his skills in two sword style Kenjutsu as well as his natural affinity to Lightning chakra.

 

Musashi's skills continued to grow, as he became a Chunin at 13, then in recent years, he became a Jonin, realizing he was one step closer to his dream. Even if Kiba had gone missing after Raiga Kurosuki had left the Hidden Mist Village, Musashi knew once they were found, he could possibly be able to be one of the Swordsmen of the Mist like his friend Chojuro.

 

Though skilled with his specially forged katana, Manten and Hiten, Musashi seeks his dream and his father's to be a part of the Swordsmen of the Mist. He believes being in the Kage Grand Prix and winning the tournament will be a good first step, as it will show he has recognition from Lady Mei Terumi, the Mizukage herself.

 

Musashi's main skills in combat come from fighting at close quarters using Manten and Hiten, which he can enhance with his Lightning chakra as well as use Jutsu with them. He shows quite a ferocity when he really gets going, being similar to many "fish-men" of the Hidden Mist as well as former Swordsmen of the Mist Zabuza Momochi and Kisame Hoshigaki. Though many suspect he would use Water-Style Jutsu, he is tied to Lightning, and has developed interesting and unique Jutsu with his skills in shape transformation as well as nature transformation, in spite of his being 19.

The third of Hidden Mist's entries in the Kage Grand Prix is another unique entry, but she isn't with a Kekkei Genkai or Kekkei Tota, but with unique properties for her Jutsu. Introducing Midori of the Green Water.

 

Midori grew up hearing the stories of the way the Hidden Mist was when Yagura was the fourth Mizukage, and how those with Kekkei Genkai had been persecuted and hunted down, leading her to be jaded as she grew up, thinking others were out for themselves. Even in the Hidden Mist Academy, she felt the same way, before making it as a ninja, and then a Chunin at 11.

 

Now she's 20 years old, and her nature of distrust has led Midori to be looked down upon by those she calls teammates. She tends to be mysterious at times, yet she has begun to see more and more of how things are not what they seem, especially after partnering up with Toya Yuki and Musashi, and seeing them protect her with their lives. Midori now tries her hardest to be kind of a mother figure to her teammates, as well as to make sure they make it through anything since they represent the next generation of Mist shinobi.

 

Midori is unique because of her control of Water nature transformation, allowing her to create unique green water, which has properties similar to seawater. Midori is capable of manipulating the quality of her water, which earned her the nickname of Midori of of the Green Water, making her unique among the many Water-Style users in the Hidden Mist Village and even the Land of Water.

The fourth member of Hidden Mist's shinobi in the Kage Grand Prix is another Kekkei Genkai wielder. Arashi Tatsumaki, wielder of the Storm Style Kekkei Genkai.

 

Arashi has always been bored with what life has had for him, so he usually found himself within music, using his ninja talents all while listening to music, even inventing special headphones that contains all kinds of music for him to listen to so that he could listen to his music while he was working.

 

However, in spite of his lazy bones lifestyle, Arashi was talented as a ninja, being able to use Storm Style chakra, a gift he had inherited from his father, using it in many unique Jutsu as well as being inventive and creative with what he can do. He tinkers with many ninja tools, even while on duty, plus he had graduated from the Hidden Mist Ninja Academy at the age of 8, having become a Jonin last year at 13.

 

Now, Arashi has been asked to compete in the Kage Grand Prix by the fifth Mizukage, Mei Terumi, as a sign of his talent as a shinobi, as well as the fact she wishes to show Hidden Mist has changed by letting him showcase his Kekkei Genkai skills as well. Even if he found it boring, Arashi accepted, mostly because he figured it'd be best that he got it out of the way, and maybe listen to some new music in the Land of Fire.

 

Arashi usually is shown looking bored, even if his eyes cannot be seen with his hair over his eyes, simply because he doesn't see the appeal to being a shinobi. He'd rather lay back, listening to music, or tinkering with his unique equipment. But when he does get coaxed into battle, he can hold his own with his use of Lightning, Water, and Storm Style Jutsu to hold his opponents at bay. He also tends to talk down on his opponents due to his boredom, even if he has mad respect for anyone he battles.

Hidden Mist's fifth young ninja for the Kage Grand Prix is also its third Kekkei Genkai wielder, using the power of Scorch Style Jutsu. Introducing Nagisa Shakunara.

 

Nagisa grew up working in her parents' hot spring, getting used to warm temperatures, even before she realized she had the power of Scorch nature transformation, a gift inherited from her grandmother Asuna's chakra. Nagisa soon began to have some trouble controlling her powers, since her parents had chosen to not be ninja, leading her to enroll in the Hidden Mist Village's ninja academy, hoping to learn what to do.

 

After graduation, Nagisa went on many missions with her team, but many chose to keep their distance from her out of a bit of fear for her Kekkei Genkai and what she could do. Though to prove herself to her teammates and herself, Nagisa did crazy things, and continued to shine, making it to Chunin first of her teammates. When Tsunade sent out the invitations to the Kage Grand Prix, Mei knew that another Kekkei Genkai wielder being in the tournament would allow the other villages to see how much Hidden Mist had changed.

 

Nagisa willingly accepted, driven to show her true stuff off to other Chunin and Jonin around her age or the age group requirements in the Grand Prix.

 

A bit of a hot-head with a fiery personality, Nagisa can be very friendly, yet she is heavily driven by a desire to want to prove herself to those who she calls colleagues and friends. She also loves family a lot, having to advertise her parents' hot springs in the Kage Grand Prix to drum up more business. She also tends to help with water there at the hot springs thanks to her use of Fire Style Jutsu as well as Scorch Style.

The reason that Shikamaru is my favorite Naruto character is because he, like myself, is lazy; and I'm kind'a smart, but not as much as him.

The last member of the Hidden Mist entries to the Kage Grand Prix is just as unique as all her compatriots are. Allow me to introduce Kawa.

 

Born with a unique gift that made her a natural at using Water nature transformations, Kawa had been trained diligently since she was born by her parents, even though she had also been blind from birth. It never deterred her, as she began to realize she could sense water around her, allowing her to distinguish shapes and patterns.

 

In spite of her "disability", Kawa wasn't fazed, and kept working to be the best kunoichi she could be, and that she would be able to become a great example of what one can do regardless of limitations. Kawa would show it when she graduated, then became a Chunin all in the same year at the age of 11.

 

Now she is 16 years old, and continuing to astound everyone who knows her and is aware of her limitations due to her being blind. But Kawa has shown to be a skillful and thoughtful ninja, always able to handle situations well, even as she keeps growing as a kunoichi in the hopes she can become as legendary as the Kages.

 

Kawa is a gentle soul, with a kind heart, but she can be quite forceful if she has to, which is why Water is a perfect nature transformation for her besides her ability to sense water. She shows how fluid in battle she can be, and almost moves with the grace of a dancer, using her staff to act as a divining rod as well as a weapon in battle.

This next team is a very interesting trio, one that my friend and TDW co-creator Kurt Booker and I were proud of. :) Allow me to introduce the all kunoichi team of the Hidden Cloud Angels, Ay's entrants for the Kage Grand Prix.

 

Asuka Senzai is a unique individual among young Chunin and Jonin in the Hidden Cloud Village, because she possesses a Kekkei Touta, the mixture of three nature transformations used at once. She had been trained by her mother to Atsuko to be able to make use of the powerful Kekkei Touta, Plant-Style, which mixes together, Earth, Wind, and Water natures all at once to create a more powerful nature transformation.

 

Often touted as one of the most beautiful kunoichi in the Hidden Cloud Village, Asuka sometimes has used her alluring beauty to aid her in combat, yet she prefers to fight with her skills and abilities. At 17 years old, having such control of her family's Kekkei Touta and its secrets is a good sign of her abilities, which is why she had been paired up with Ame Hozuki, a member of the Hozuki clan who branched into Hidden Cloud during the era of Yagura, and Ryoko Tachibana, daughter of a skilled Hidden Cloud blacksmith, and thus the Hidden Cloud Angels were born. Though she's the de facto leader, Asuka often has some difficulty with Ame's child-like personality, and Ryoko's more stern, focused nature.

 

Asuka herself is a talented kunoichi, being one of the best at the Hidden Cloud academy, and having risen to the rank of Chunin within 2 years of her graduation. Beautiful, compassionate, caring, sweet, but fierce if need be--- all of these describe Asuka to a T, and she is made all the more formidable because of her Plant Style Kekkei Touta. Though her control of Earth, Water, and Wind natures is also something to be impressed by.

An all-kunoichi team? Cool!

Years ago, during the time of Yagura, the Fourth Mizukage as well as the Jinchuriki of Isobu, the Three-Tailed Turtle, many clans had tried to scatter from the Hidden Mist and the Land of Water, particularly those with Kekkei Genkai, Kekkei Touta, or unique abilities, thanks in part to the actions of Obito Uchiha, carrying on Madara Uchiha's will through his being his shadow as well as Madara's chakra itself. One such were members of the Hozuki clan, particularly those related to Gengetsu Hozuki, the long deceased Second Mizukage of the Hidden Mist. They would find refuge in the Hidden Cloud Village, under the watch of Ay, the Raikage.

 

Ame has never known anything other than the Hidden Cloud Village as well as her life there, but her parents told her about her heritage as a descendant of Gengetsu Hozuki, which was shown well with Ame's aptitude in Water Style Jutsu as well as her having signed the contract to summon giant clams, including her tiny friend Hosenki. Ame also was proficient at the Hydrification Jutsu as well as being unique among her family's branch of the Hozuki clan in that she could use the Vapor Style Kekkei Genkai. Although she is 15 years old, about to turn 16, Ame is a brilliant kunoichi, but very playful and energetic.

 

She is skilled in infiltration as well as combat itself, yet Ame also can surprise enemies with Genjutsu thanks to Hosenki and other giant clams she can summon, as well as her use of Water, Fire, and Vapor Style Jutsu. As the youngest Hidden Cloud Angel, Ame tends to play with her opponents, but she can be very scary when motivated as well as driven. She looks up to her teammates as big sister figures, as well as having a fond friendship to Killer Bee and Yugito Nii, the Hidden Cloud Village's two Jinchuriki and even a playful bond with Ay the Fourth Raikage.

The daughter of one of the finest blacksmiths in the Land of Lightning, Ryoko Tachibana had been around swords since she was a child, which led her to wish to become of the most skilled swordsmen in the ninja world. It led her father to forge her own sword, as well as to be taken into the Hidden Cloud Academy. Although Ryoko had difficulty controlling her chakra, her skills showed which allowed her to get by.

 

She was most proficient in Kenjutsu, thanks to spending time around her father, developing her own unique style, putting her on par with the finest in the Hidden Cloud Village. As she grew, she developed the use of forming her Lightning chakra into her blade, allowing her to attack enemies as necessary as well as to cut through many things as well.

 

Stoic, focused, and dedicated, Ryoko often finds herself meditating and focusing whenever outside of battle, even with her time spent with Asuka and Ame since the three of them became known as the Hidden Cloud Angels after they had been called onto a mission together, leading them to become an interesting team, even if Ryoko can be exasperated by Ame's playful nature, even to the point she will try to slice her. Though she is 16, Ryoko is driven to make her dream a reality.

Bolt Sarazawa is a skillful young ninja from the Hidden Sand Village, and is capable of the Kekkei Genkai, Magnet-Style. His skill in using this Kekkei Genkai had many of his teacher refer to him as the second coming of Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage. Even Gaara, the Fifth Kazekage, and Rasa's youngest son, could see that Bolt was quite skilled.

 

Hailing from a group of nomads known to live outside of the Hidden Sand Village, in the deserts of the Land of Wind, Bolt had been suggested for the Sand's ninja academy when his skills with his Kekkei Genkai were revealed. However, as with nomads, Bolt often was hesitant to bond with people, for he feared he would have to eventually leave again, as he had done in the past. But Bolt still did what he could to let others know he was trying to make connections.

 

However, he eventually realized he wished to belong, so once his tribe had set out once again, Bolt remained in the Hidden Sand Village, wishing to be a ninja in good standing, as well as to make connections he had lacked in his life. When it came to the Kage Grand Prix and his candidacy to enter, Bolt hoped to make other connections with ninja from other villages, and see the world in a new way.

When one lives in the deserts of the Land of Wind, they would not be expected to have Fire as a chakra nature affinity. Though Kaen is a unique example of this. He was considered unique among his colleagues in the Hidden Sand Village, but he ended up becoming an asset if necessary. Kaen would often be seen eating hot things, even when it was warm in the Hidden Sand Village, showing his affinity toward fire more and more.

 

A candidate in the Kage Grand Prix, Kaen is 20, as well as his control of Fire chakra being used for many things, like to provide heat and warmth for people in the Hidden Sand Village during the cold nights, as well as being good for missions requiring arson to be done. Even if he has been involved in that kind of work, Kaen never liked it, and always wanted to just relax with some warm coffee or even tea and be able to enjoy the sun.

 

Even among those from the Land of Fire with Fire as their nature affinity, Kaen is potent at Fire Style Jutsu, being able to control the heat of his flames to different intensities, allowing him to make his flames red, orange, yellow, or even heat them to blue or black, thus making the potency of his Fire Style Jutsu on par with that of even members of the Uchiha clan, even if his flames cannot have the intensity of Amaterasu, one of the Jutsu of the Mangekyo Sharingan. However, fire also doesn't bug Kaen too much.

A young Jonin around the same age as Kankuro, Noriko grew up with Kankuro and other members of the Hidden Sand Village's Puppet Corps, being experts in the Puppet Master Jutsu which allows them to manipulate the puppet creations of Sasori of the Red Sand. Noriko always saw Kankuro as a unique prodigy since he surpassed her and many of the others easily. Some suspicions were it was because he was the son of Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage. Noriko on the other hand just saw that he was that good.

 

After Kankuro was promoted to be his brother Gaara's bodyguard, Noriko was promoted into the leader of the Puppet Corps. She has been motivated to ensure the pride of the Hidden Sand's Puppet Master Jutsu was not going to waste, and with her puppets Mantis and Lion, she's usually more than ready to fight. And being chosen for the Kage Grand Prix is another fine honor for her, which means she can show off the skills of her puppets.

Orochimaru, one of the Sannin, a legendary ninja from the Hidden Leaf Village, who strove for more, and thus became a pure kind of evil. Motivated by the death of his parents to escape the trappings of mortality, Orochimaru sought to gather power and knowledge, eventually being consumed by the concept that he would experiment on live subjects for his Immortality Jutsu, as well as other vile experiments, such as trying to infuse children with the DNA of Hashirama Senju, the first Hokage, in the hope to gain his abilities of the Wood Style Kekkei Genkai nature transformation as well as his ability to tame Biju, as well as mastering Jutsu such as the Summoning Jutsu: Reanimation. 

 

Away from the Hidden Leaf, Orochimaru had a brief alliance with the Akatsuki, having shown interest in gaining the powers of Itachi Uchiha's Sharingan, but failing that, he began to form his own village, the Hidden Sound Village, gathering many unique talents in the hopes to add their abilities and gifts into himself, hoping to make himself into a more perfect being this way.

 

However, Orochimaru still coveted the Sharingan, and attempted to gain it from one of the only other survivors of the clan, Sasuke Uchiha, luring him with the promises of power to gain the revenge he sought against Itachi. In that end, he too would fail, but not because of the power of the Sharingan, but because of Naruto Uzumaki stopping Sasuke from going to the Hidden Sound Village. To that end, Orochimaru had no choice but to gain alternate means to become evens tronger.

 

When the New Makai Army invaded the Hidden Leaf Village, Orochimaru took a vested interest in their power, and began his research on Makai, and its connections to Earth. With that discovery, he learned of Orochi, the White Serpent, whom he shared a name and a similar sense of closeness to, learning how centuries ago, he attempted to conquer the planet, but was defeated by Hagoromo Ohtsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths, and the Demon Knight, the current ruler of Makai, Gouken. His body petrified, yet allowing the vital organs to remain active, Orochi's body was hidden in the Land of Rice Patties, which the Hidden Sound Village called home.

 

Thus, Orochimaru found Orochi's body, extracting blood from the White Serpent and infusing it into himself, doing what no human before had done--- trying to infuse the blood of a demon with their human blood. The process was slow, though Orochimaru devised a new Jutsu from this transfusion; the Demonic Transformation Jutsu, which would allow him to completely gain the power of Orochi and infuse it into his own body. However... after figuring it out, Orochimaru did not realize that Orochi's consciousness lived in his blood, and that slowly... but surely... the White Serpent would rise again...

Motivated by the death of his parents to escape the trappings of mortality, Orochimaru sought to gather power and knowledge, eventually being consumed by the concept that he would experiment on live subjects for his Immortality Jutsu, as well as other vile experiments, such as trying to infuse children with the DNA of Hashirama Senju, the first Hokage, in the hope to gain his abilities of the Wood Style Kekkei Genkai nature transformation as well as his ability to tame Biju, as well as mastering Jutsu such as the Summoning Jutsu: Reanimation. 
 
Away from the Hidden Leaf, Orochimaru had a brief alliance with the Akatsuki, having shown interest in gaining the powers of Itachi Uchiha's Sharingan, but failing that, he began to form his own village, the Hidden Sound Village, gathering many unique talents in the hopes to add their abilities and gifts into himself, hoping to make himself into a more perfect being this way.
 
However, Orochimaru still coveted the Sharingan, and attempted to gain it from one of the only other survivors of the clan, Sasuke Uchiha, luring him with the promises of power to gain the revenge he sought against Itachi. In that end, he too would fail, but not because of the power of the Sharingan, but because of Naruto Uzumaki stopping Sasuke from going to the Hidden Sound Village. To that end, Orochimaru had no choice but to gain alternate means to become evens tronger.
 
When the New Makai Army invaded the Hidden Leaf Village, Orochimaru took a vested interest in their power, and began his research on Makai, and its connections to Earth. With that discovery, he learned of Orochi, the White Serpent, whom he shared a name and a similar sense of closeness to, learning how centuries ago, he attempted to conquer the planet, but was defeated by Hagoromo Ohtsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths, and the Demon Knight, the current ruler of Makai, Gouken. His body petrified, yet allowing the vital organs to remain active, Orochi's body was hidden in the Land of Rice Patties, which the Hidden Sound Village called home.
 
Thus, Orochimaru found Orochi's body, extracting blood from the White Serpent and infusing it into himself, doing what no human before had done--- trying to infuse the blood of a demon with their human blood. The process was slow, though Orochimaru devised a new Jutsu from this transfusion; the Demonic Transformation Jutsu, which would allow him to completely gain the power of Orochi and infuse it into his own body. However... after figuring it out, Orochimaru did not realize that Orochi's consciousness lived in his blood, and that slowly... but surely... the White Serpent would rise again...
