People usually define "Tsundere" two different ways. The first way is the fusion of "Tsun tsun", meaning a cold, blunt attitude, and "Dere dere", meaning the attitude of acting lovesick or spoony in front of his/her lover. This creates an adjective that means a person that is usually cold or short-tempered, but acts lovesick in front of her lover/crush. This is how I would personally define Tsundere.

The second way people define it would just be straight-up short tempered towards anyone, including the one they love.

Opinions or Add-ons?

Type B (alias Type Dere or sweet): These Tsundere have deredere as their default mood. They are sweet, kind and generous, but just happen to have a hidden violent side as well. In this case, her temper is almost always triggered by someone else, usually the male Love Interest.

Actually a yandere would be almost the opposite of a tsundere, where he/she is always loving towards their interest and then turns violent. The only difference is that in most cases of yandere, they are crazy. Take some of Higurashi's cast who start off lovingly and kind then turn violent. A mild version of yandere would also include Akira from Lucky Star. But in most cases of yandere the subject would still be loving towards their interest even during the violent part of the cycle.

why yes. that is my adorable sister hugging a dakimura. got a problem?

There are so many sub-categories of Tsundere now. XD

Just to add,
(Alfred is a bit Tsundere in that he pretends to not want to be like Arthur and love all of Arthur's things. >w< I'd say this stems from Anglophile tendencies being prevalent in the US late in the 19th to early 20th century. wow.png *f-ing love US/UK*)
