Here are the rules!

1. The tournament will be a single-elimination format.
2. Each match consists of a best of 3 fights. The first player to win two fights will go through. If there is a drawn match after each player has won one, a tie-breaker match can be played.
3. Each fight is a best of five 99-second rounds.
   
4. Any characters can be used, except for Seth and Gouken.
5. If you quit a fight for any reason other than lag, you will forfeit that fight.
6. You cannot have anyone else play your fights for you.

No worries, Cloud, we'll post up detailed results as the fights progress. I plan to have my netbook open while I'm on the 360, and have results messaged to me on Live so I can put them up here ASAP. I'd like the results to show which characters were used, and what the score was in each fight. Maybe even show Perfect, Cheap, and Super/Ultra Combo Finish icons if possible!

I'm an RPG/Versus gamer though Left 4 Dead is quickly getting me into the Shooter genre XD, and if I do decide to get this game, I'm probably gonna get my ass handed to me, but it should still be hella fun to play against y'all

I wonder... should we post replays on Youtube? That way anybody who doesn't have the game can watch the replays. This may be an idea.

How do we record the games, Derock? I don't think there is even a spectator mode, is there? I suppose we could try using webcams/cameras to record the footage of our matches.

Kotaku just reported that Capcom have gone quiet on the tournament patch. I'd really love it if it was released before our tournament - it'd make setting up things a cinch, and we could upload replays! Still, fingers crossed it does come out soon.

Come on, guys, we need at least 2 more players! I'd like to be able to create a tidy tournament chart. XD If we do end up with an odd number or one that isn't a multiple of 4 (4, 8, 16, 32 etc.), I suppose we could modify it so we have a league one day, then a knockout stage of the top 4 the next day.

This weekend, I'll do some more work on graphics for the tournament. I've found almost all the materials I need, so hopefully I can make up some mock VS/results images.

Aren't there a Replay mode or button, something similar to like DOA4's replay mode? Or something that save movies? Because I had seen LIVE matches on Youtube.

I'm afraid not! At the moment, SF4 online only allows 2 players per match, there is no spectator mode or replay recording. Capcom are planning to include them in the patch I mentioned above, but no ETA yet.

The matches on Youtube were most likely recorded with professional capture equipment, cameras, etc.

I've been thinking about renting this game anyway, so now would be a good time. Sign me up!

And about recording matches, I might be able to do that. We'll see. I'll definetely put any up if I can. :thumbs:
