QUOTE ("Synopsis"[i)
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game currently under development by Blizzard Entertainment as a sequel to the award-winning 1998 video game StarCraft.

Set in the 26th century in a distant part of the Milky Way galaxy, the game is built around three species: the Terrans, human exiles from Earth; the Zerg, a race of insectoid genetic assimilators; and the Protoss, a species with vast psionic power. Wings of Liberty will focus on the Terrans specifically, while the expansions Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void will focus on the Zerg and Protoss, respectively. The game is expected to be set four years after the events of StarCraft: Brood War, and follow the exploits of Jim Raynor as he leads an insurgent group against the autocratic Terran Dominion.

Blizzard finally sets the release for July 27th, 2010. Of course this isn't set in stone as Blizzard can never be trusted with release dates. Either way, it's been twelve long years and SCII finally makes it epic waited appearance in just a couple of months. In the mean time the beta is open to all those who get a pre-order of the game. Che took them long enough, a little more and the game would have been outdated at the time of it's release. Now I just need to know the release date for Diablo III and ready my heart for the two injections of awesome I'm (along with everyone else) getting from Blizzard. Oh and Blizzard Where's my Warcraft 4?

Dude with the region locking, if you're still in Taiwan you'll be stuck with the Korean servers at the start. Take about intense training laugh.gif

I might get it. Brood War is filled with dips, so I dunno how to deal with II. Might wait until Diplomacy games come out for it.

No Cross Server play for SCII

This is because the new Battle.net will take a lot of tweaking to make sure it's the best suited platform for delivering good gaming. The beta isn't region locked so I'm sure they'll eventually unlock it when the game has been tested on the actual release. We can have a 8 player match on battle.net soon enough. thumbsup.gif

I've played it off offhandedly (studying for finals so haven't gotten a chance to really devote a lot of time to gaming) and it's everything the first SC games were, but 1000x better. Vast improvement in units, graphics, macros, music, and just about everything you can do to create the perfect game. With the Beta actively going on for the last few months Blizzard is fixing everything it can about the multiplayer to insure that any and every player can get a fair chance at playing by correcting any over powered units or broken strategies. They've released about eleven patches and it fixes all the bugs and errors and slowly the gaming experience just keeps getting better and better. RTS gaming is about to get revolutionized in a huge way.

I need to study all the units so I can get strengths + weaknesses and come up with efficient strategies and macros. Still have a lot to learn about the game.

Reserved it at a local game-store, unfortunately that means I have no right to play the beta.

Also I've seen some replays from the beta and one thing I know, I'll get knocked around pretty hard for some time before I can actually become stronger to compete with some of the guys here it seems.

P.S: Talk about Trial by Fire.
