I would like to have the video game experts tell me if these games are worth buying and playing for the Xbox 360:

Please rate on a scale of 1-10 and if you recommend buying these games:

1. Mass Effect (I hear people talking about it and wonder if it really lives up to the hype?)

2. Bio Shock (Won last years Spike Video Games award over Halo and wanted to know if it really is that good)

3. Fallout 3 (A fairly new game that some seem to talk about)

4. Final Fantasy XII/XIV release date 6/21/2010 (I own and liked playing VII Crisis Core and Advent Children, I liked VIII as well X which seemed okay. Those are the only Final Fantasy games i have bought and i want to hear from the avid Final Fantasy Fans is XIII going to be that good and worth buying?)

5. Splinter Cell Conviction release date 10/20/09 (I've never got into the Splinter Cell games and was wondering if it's worth buying)

6. Assassin Creed

7. Metal Gear Solid Rising release date unknown for now (I've liked the Metal Gear Solid's but have Woed myself from buying a 500 dollar console and waiting for a price drop and a slimmer version since the slimmer PS2's lasted longer than one of the originals that i had. I was wondering is this game suppose to be more anticipated than Metal Gear Solid 4)

Is their any other type of good games you would recommend particularly shooter and/or RPG. I was excited about Tiburine coming out for 360 then the game got canned and MAG is out of the question since i have dial-up and limited to games that will play offline.

It's been a while since i last bought a game (Gears Of War 2). I'm already a Halo and Gears Of War Fan, I liked all the Resident Evils, New Zelda Twilight Princess, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, and New Mario Galaxy. So I'll already be buying sequels or spin-offs to do with them.

I don't know much about most of those, but I do know Assassin's Creed, owning it myself.

It's not worth buying, at all. It's cheap, sure. But you can get everything worthwhile out of it by renting it, and there's no replayability at all. As well, with the cutscenes being long and unskippable, any replays are VERY boring.

Dead Rising is a great investment, though. It has awesome replay value, and it won't cost more than 20 bucks. It's kind of an action/rpg hybrid, though, so I don't know if you're interested.

I have played Mass Effect and let tell you it is as awesome as people say. Done by the KOTR staff this game brings a little kick @$$ to the table. And hey it's twenty dollars now so what do you have to lose. The second one is coming out so remember to keep your finish characters ready for the sequel of course you don't need to they said. It's like Star Wars but with guns.

As for the others I can't say I haven't played a FF console game since IX. Even though I am considering picking up XIII my lucky number.

I seen somone play Fallout 3 but I didn;t think much of it.

Though now that I think about it huh.gif I haven't bought a new 360 game since the Ultimate Genesis Collection game came out. But anyway get Mass Effect you won't regret it I promise. happy.gif

Fallout 3 is a must if you're an RPG fan. It also has a decent plot, shooting could use a little work, but if you wanna see a bullet rip off a man's head in slow-mo, then you'll enjoy it. Amazing graphics, but at the same time, you are wandering a post-apocalyptic wasteland so, most of the time it'd be boring...until you get under attack by various hostile wildlife, Raiders, robots, Super Mutants, and later on, heavily armored troopers. Fallout 3: America's Choice for Post-Apocalyptic Simulation!

Assassin's Creed is fun the first time you play it, but it becomes somewhat repetitive, though I still like to play it because of the way combat works.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising...well, I think we'll need more info before passing judgment on that in my opinion.

The Staple of the mgs series was the emphasis on stealth and espionage. from what i can tell rising is going to something much different. kojima wont be involved much and thats a cause of concern for me. He kept emphasizing that mgs peacewalker for psp is the "true" sequel in the saga, that he will be heavily involved in it, and that he intends for it to be a full metal gear expierence as if it were on a home console.

Peacewalker is actually the true Sequel for Metal Gear Solid 3, not the series in general, it bridges the gap between 3 and I think Metal Gear 1 and beyond.

Technically Peacewalker is the Sequel to Portable Ops, and Kojima said that He considers it his MGS5, and that Rising is the MGS5 for the next generation. Though "Lighting Bolt Action" replacing " "Tactical Espionage Action" kinda turns me off, Im still interested to see what the young developers in Kojima Productions have in store for the franchise. So im definitely goona buy MGS Rising, though honestly, we still dont know much about it. And as far as being more anticipated than MGS4, I wouldn't go that far, MGS4 was the Pinnacle of the series, tying up all the loose ends and bringing the Story of Solid Snake to a close. Raiden surely isn't the girly looking bishie he once was, but he's still no Solid Snake.

I did play Mass Effect, and I can tell you it's a absolute must have, theres a reason why ME2 is being hyped so much.

I didnt play Bioshock and Fallout, but both scored high critical acclaim, so it seems theyre great games too, I plan on getting them both when my wallet is a little kinder to me.

Like you, I haven't played many Splinter Cell games, but from what I saw at E3, it looks pretty good.

Assassins Creed has sorta of a mixed reception, some love it more than others, and some think it's too repetitive, so I cant help you there.

Thanks for all your help ladies/gentlemen and expert gamers. I'll defiantly be buying Mass Effect and Bioshock for now. Later on I'll get Fallout 3 when the price goes down some and I'll just rent Assassin Creed like KungFuTruffle said. I'll defiantly get Final Fantasy XII/XIV when it comes out thanks to Illmatic. biggrin.gif

When the price goes down some on the PS3, I'll defiantly buy MGS4 (10/10 from GI), Resistance 1/2, Killzone 2, and God of War 3. happy.gif

As far as Splinter Conviction goes I'll see what GI says in their review scores and any other cool PS3 or 360 game review in the future that catches my eye, of course if it's real good y'all will be talking about it in the Gamer Lounge. biggrin.gif

For the Wii only First party games like the upcoming Zelda Twilight Princess 2 and Super Mario Galaxy 2 only seem to be gaining my attention so far. Since it being the Wii you figured Co-Op would be implemented in these games and it would be epicness to see ZTP2 and Super Mario Galaxy 2 with true Co-Op, of course we all wished every game had that feature. wow.png

I'll be buying Batman Arkham Asylum as well. I'm a Bats nut. biggrin.gif

I finally got Mass Effect and Bio Shock and i can honestly say that Bio Shock is bad ***, I would suggest anyone to at least rent or buy it. (you won't be disappointed Illmatic, some parts are just down right creepy/scary and had me at the edge of the seat.) I'm defiantly buying the second one and looking forward to playing as a Bid Daddy with a Co-Op option. biggrin.gif

Mass Effect was good and all but all of the side missions i had to go through and the macho talking to learn more was some what aggravating at times, but the awesome graphics/realization and various landscape, offset the bad remarks on my personal opinion. I only wished their were more attention payed to the combat segment and Co-Op to make it better. Hopefully the second Mass Effect will make so needed improvements like Co-Op *cough* and the option to play the game without the massive answer decision making like Halo/Gears and all of the darn side quest mission to have to earn little points at a time. dry.gif

You're playing a bloody RPG. What the hell did you expect? Less talking in a BioWare RPG, seriously? BioWare has no plans as to add a co-op campaign, it's already indepth enough for one person to experience, and that's what they were aiming for. Halo/Gears were shooters. Mass Effect is a shooter in its own realm, but also an RPG blended in, honestly, I liked the system they aimed for. I don't see why you're complaining about its length and dialogue being long.

I wasn't complaining about the game length just wished their was a way to play the game without the dialogue decision making and still gain enough points to max everything out.

Well I'll call up EA and ask them to make you a custom version of it. :zaru

Hell, ask Bungie to do it. Since a decision system non-present in Mass Effect makes it just a bland shooter.

@Cloud. Its been rumored that Mass effect 2 has 5 player co-op..... So at least one of the things 6thHokage wanted might be coming true. The dialog tree part though..... That ain't happening lol.

Thanks, that would be so kind of you to do that for me. laugh.gif

I'm not saying that they need to completely change the game but as a option that can be changed through the menu screen or something like that. sleep.gif

Role playing/strategies through combat is my type of style. (gotta love the vast array of plasmids/guns in Bioshock, especially the plasmids. cool.gif)
