Hasn't it happened to you guys that you're reading a NaruSaku fic and something happens in the story that you really don't like and because of it you stop reading it? But then you regret all the time you spent reading the fic whether it was 2 hours, 5 hours or 10 hours.

This has happened to me lots of times and I wish someone would've told be about it beforehand so that I would've decided whether I wanted to read the fic or not.

To prevent this I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread where we could all warn people that something that they might not like happened in a certain fic.

All we have to do is put the name of the fic and in what chapter that thing happened.

And for the people that want to know what exactly that bad thing is we put it in a spoiler tag.

I'll start

A growing love, Chapter 10

Sakura has sex with Sasuke

After that I really tried to forgive Sakura but I couldn't, I hated her so much because she broke Naruto's heart

What do you guys think about this thread?

Sounds like it might be a useful topic... ive felt like that before getting into a story only to lose my enjoyment due to something happening in the fic.... cant think of any off the top of my head right now to give an example but anyway.... it would be a nice thing to have around ya know..... lol

Yeah, many people hate deaths in romantic stories (unless say the characters are 100+ years old and have had a long happy life together, with lots of kids and grandkids, etc...) and many fanfic archives will have warning tags like (character death) for that. They'll also put up pairing warnings if it's in a shipper archive and there are other pairings in it.

warnings for explicit sex are in most archives(although those tend to be too limited. I dislike hentai sex, too much like porn- all mechanics none of the romantic feelings- boring and annoying. Where I read any romantic sex scene with excitement. I love those. One thing Spuffy (Spike and Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) fanfics were great in was really hot love making scenes. Even if the writer was lacking in talent in other parts of storywriting many times those romantic sex scenes were fantastic! It's just spoiled me in my expectations of an NC-17 or M fanfic wink.gif I get so disappointed in so much of anime/manga fanfic in the M area. I go in hoping for love making and get hentai. ugh.

That brings up an interesting difference between shoujo and shonen manga. in shoujo manga for middle and high school age you get love making scenes, where in shonen ones for middle and high school you get plenty of naked girls but even kisses between couples are rare. Yet in seinen (mens) manga you get hentai explicit sex. Weird.

Shoujo is so much more natural in the way sexual attraction is depicted- For the young shoujo magazines (target audience 8-13) like Nakayoshi and Ribbon, lots of kisses, but little nudity and no sex (or only very vaguely implied if the characters are late teens, going to get married, and it's the final chapters- ie Kamakaze Kaitou Jeanne). Then in older shoujo magazines (target audience 10-16) characters might even kiss in the first chapter, and it's not atypical for them to become sexually intimate before the middle of the story, or at least have some serious foreplay. Lovemaking is often clearly shown, almost never are the sexual organs even implied but their bodies are shown together, making love, with lots of emphasis on the faces, clasped hands with intertwined fingers are also often depicted in these scenes, and usually they speak to each other during the scenes. Tears of overwhelming joy also often are in there (especially for the girl, sometimes the boy is tearing up too, though, depends on how intense the build up to this moment in the story was)
Dream you dream alone is only a dream, but dream we dream together is reality- Yoko Ono 1971

Rokudaime's chapter 20

Not entirely sure if Sakura did go all the way with Itachi, but it's kind of implied there; I'm waiting for more info on that on whether she gave 'it' up or not to him.

Another story is called Waiting by Green Hot Jalepeno Peppers (or something like that)

I'm not going to put this in spoiler tags because it's right in the first chapter; Sakura is portrayed as a slut and for over 10 years she's been sleeping around Konoha because Sasuke broke her 'adolescent heart' when he left her. The story starts her off already in someones bed, and it ain't Naruto's.

What really irritates me is how Naruto's character is portrayed; I mean GOD DAMN; people need to realize Naruto ain't going to be an idiot for the rest of his life.

Sakura and Naruto are best friends, and Sakura acknowledges that whenever she's around Naruto she feels like everything's fine, but at the same time the author is putting her in all of these 'off the wall' situations.

That story bothered me for weeks, and no matter what I read or did, I kept thinking about that. It still bugs me to this day :|.

It's so hard to find NaruSaku stories where Sakura isn't portrayed as some girl who would give away herself without thought; unless it involves Naruto happy.gif .

I KNOW what you mean, there are some stories that had some events that I really don't like and even after I stop reading them those events keeps bugging me and sometimes they make me start losing faith in NaruSaku.

That's why I made this topic, so we don't have to find out those kinds of surprises after we spent time reading the story and getting into it and maybe by talking about it we could feel a little better.

I was actually thinking of reading "Rokudaime" a couple of days ago but now I doubt I will

because I can't stand it when Sakura has slept with someone that wasn't Naruto
Thanks for the info

Oh and next time please put the Name of the fic and the Chapter "Outside" the spoiler, the only thing that should go into the spoiler is what happened in that chapter and maybe a comment.

This next one is the fic that scarred me the most, I've been thinking about it for a couple of weeks but I can't forget it and the more I try not to think about it the more I do:

No Time to Waste, Chapter 3

Sasuke comes back to Konoha and he and Sakura get together and have a child, while Naruto being heart broken because of it goes to Hinata and then they also have a child. And the worst part of all is that in this fic Sasuke is an Ass that only goes after Sakura out of spite so he can hurt Naruto, and Sakura even hates herself for falling for him so easily after seeing that Sasuke is an Ass and after realizing how important Naruto is for her at the end of Chapter 2, but still she ends up with him.

I was so mad/sad after reading this fic, what I hate the most is that it's in the Heaven & Earth Fanfiction Library in the NaruSaku fics section even though it ends SasuSaku and NaruHina.

Yep, i know the feeling.

Dark Truths Undiscovered on aff.net kinda put me off a lil.

Sakura, who's portrayed as being in love with Naruto, is captured by Akatsuki, and in the process, she comes to "love" Itachi as well, though the author explicitly states, not as much as Naruto. What put me off though, is the fact that at first she resisted, knowing that she loves Naruto, but then towards the ending, she agrees to sleep with Itachi to give the Uchiha clan an heir, because Sasuke is infertile. And, get this, Naruto agrees to let her do it!(albeit with some misgivings) And by that time, my reactions were none other than WTF?! disappointment, as it was a good story to begin with, and i had really hoped that Sakura's love for Naruto wouldn't be dismissed so easily.

Not a problem.

It was good up to the part where Itachi broached the idea. Everything just went downhill from there imho, since the Itachi smut was mostly due to fan requests more than anything.

Actually.. Rokudaime is pretty good! The only thing that bothers me is that the relationship between Naruto and Sakura moves so slow it's on the border of unholy..

But the author has stated several times that Sakura has a deep hate for Itachi, but Itachi has grown.. interested in her, and wants her to be the mother of his children because she's the strongest living kunoichi (or at least high up there).

But if you want to read that story, I suggest you wait until it's done. I'm pretty pissed about the god damn cliffhangers and such.

Finding Sakura by Michiru's Mirror is another fic I would recommend people to avoid.

It's a fic where Sakura is possessed by some demon or w/e, and in the first chapter, she has this weird and grotesque type of sex with Sai. As the story progresses, you would find out that it's been going on for awhile and whatnot. The story ends with NaruSaku, with Naruto accepting what she did. The reason the author made it this way was if Naruto could forgive Sasuke for shoving a Chidori through his chest, he can forgive Sakura for sleeping with Sai. Now, that's a stupid and ignorant statement. I'm sorry, but there is so much abuse, physical and mental, a guy can take in life before he just won't care anymore.

Though, even if it didn't have that in there and was like how I would like it to be, I still wouldn't read the fic. There are a lot of NaruSaku fics out there, but the problem is that there are hardly any good ones anymore. Even if the grammar and everything is good, like in this fic, if the story is whack, I just won't read it.

The only fics I would recommend these days are "Naruto: Trail of Freedom," "Dreams," and "Mizukage." Another possible one would be "The Legend of Uzumaki Naruto," but that might not be NaruSaku at all.

It's not like she was in her right mind at the time. I hated that she did it in the fic, but I can believe that he'd forgive her. Also, it's not like it was easy for him.

I think that he'd forgive her even if she hadn't been possessed, but it would've been harder for him.

You wouldn't even recommend my fic? Geez, I'm hurt. :shamefulcry0js: tongue.gif

Since recommendations are being made, I'd like to nominate the collected works of Digifruit (if he ever learns that most of his one-shots would actually be excellent first chapters for continuing fanfics, that is), Wilhelm Junker's "Densetsu no Sannin: Repetition", and "Shinobi Wars" (the continuation of Koorikage, by Illjwamh) in addition to those you mention. And that's what I can grab from memory -- give me a few minutes, and maybe I'll pull out a bunch of other fanfics in the Narusaku genre that I think could be recommended. (Some of them appear to be abandoned (I still want to see more of "Better Left Unsaid" by The Librarian's Apprentice, for example, or our own Smiter's "Spirit of Fire" continued)

You haven't experienced the full cofusion of modern gender relations until you've heard an angry group of women yelling, "We want tentacles!" at an all-night Hentai-fest.

Actually, most of the reason why Naruto was able to forgive her was because she was possessed. It'd be something different if she wasn't. It's just that it was too quick.

There is one fic that you should stay far away from.

It is called Wrong Move (I am not going to dirty my hands by finding the author)

Basically, Sakura is torn up because Sasuke left and Naruto failed to bring him back so she decides to punish him.

She has sex with Naruto and then the next morning, she goes to the police and tells him that he raped her.

God, that delt a severe blow to my devotion to Sakura. :shamefulcry0js: :shamefulcry0js: :shamefulcry0js: :shamefulcry0js: :shamefulcry0js:

Like he said, he was still mad at Sakura about it. That did take a long time to gradually get over (about a year). Michiru's Mirror just didn't spend lots of chapters on it, covering it in just a few chapters.

It shouldn't have had any effect on how you feel about Sakura, it should make you loathe the writer with an unholy passion, that's a creep with a violent hatred of Sakura and an incredibly misogynist view of women. I don't think real Sakura would do that, I don't think it would be in her personality. Sakura already said that she would get Sasuke back for Naruto, so she would blame herself if anyone.
