anyone seen x-men dark phoenix yet? I thought it was terrible (both the story and special effects) and it's disappointing that one of my favorite comic book teams can't get a break on the big screen. I don't fault the actors since I think they do their best but hollywood is having a problem with directing and writing at the moment at least in my opinion

Apparently its even worse than X-men: The Last Stand.

I guess the Phoenix stuff is taint for X-men movies.

Apparently its even worse than X-men: The Last Stand.

I guess the Phoenix stuff is taint for X-men movies.

you get the feeling the director is obsessed with the phoenix (since he did both the last stand and this movie, he wanted to redeem himself to fans for the criticism he got with the last stand). He analyzed actual mental problems when writing the phoenix for the movie and you can tell since the only people who will find it entertaining are depressed people. There is also the problem that recent x-men movies have had. the reboot with younger versions of all the characters doesn't make much sense because mystique is with professor x, quicksilver is with the x-men and magneto crippled professor x. so the director tossed out the previous movie development after shadowcat gained the time travel power and wolverine reset the timeline. Even I feel confused on where the movie consistency is between movies and apparently this director/writer did as well and couldn't use the previous story in this movie. the conflict in dark phoenix (not giving spoiler) is half baked because it's thrown into the movie without any weight from the prior story or made up entirely new and without explanation. quicksilver's only line is him bragging to the other students that he did all the work and jean grey didn't do much (all bull kittene but it's a forced line inserted because of social justice warriors who insist women be elevated at all times so it sets up a line where mystique says the women do all the work with no weight to it, on top of that later in the movie's action scenes with the x-men what we are shown is that the men are definitely not slacking off and letting the women do all the work). There are probably other things I could say about this movie when I get some sleep but that's all for now. There are good parts to the movie it just doesn't have continuity to it like most other movies in a series and the movie takes place from the perspective of the dark phoenix who's actions aren't predictable (compared to the last stand it doesn't feel like the other x-men are doing much in the dark phoenix the same way you see many different mutants having a character arc in the last stand and when there are other characters doing things there is no prior development for it). I get if you like some parts in it but out of all the movies i've seen that are part of a series i wouldn't show this one to someone else which is really rare to me since I didn't have a problem with the matrix revolutions or any superhero or starwars movies (except the new disney star wars movies). so yes it is the worst x-men we have gotten. maybe the director/writer really likes phoenix and making bad comic book adaptations but whatever the reason it isn't working. i've read trolls tell me they are only interested in the phoenix too and the other x-men can suck it but if the dark phoenix is what is a fun superhero flick is to them I'm better off sticking to my opinion. What I'd like to tell the x-men fans out there is that you should never accept a movie from hollywood that has the same story it has already made. The x-men are a great superhero team and it's depressing that the only person who stepped up to make a x-men movie was a guy who already made a nonsense movie in 2006. Imagine if disney had rebooted revenge of the sith for example, do not support that type of scam. don't go pay to see a movie that already came out simply because hollywood has a creativity problem. Also to the fans who say "well what did you expect" the reason my expectations were higher is because the prior x-men movies were better than dark phoenix. I think the saddest thing is one of my friends and other people like her who are going to end up going and seeing this as their first x-men movie because of the actor from game of thrones who stars in it and then being confused by what's happening. The actors can't fix a bad story

I saw it, the only part I really liked was the train battle scene that was it.
