I have a feeling the time will heal some wounds in regards to the series, and those that are raking it so low will warm up to it (even just a lil)

A great weekly shonen jump manga.
A decent shonen manga.
A mediocre manga.
And a bad literature.

That is naruto.

5/10.

It was 9/10, but it lost four points within the last two chapters.  One lost for chapter 700 simply for existing.  (Way too much technology, bad character design, and WTF pairings even outside of NH/SS..) One point lost for not really punishing Sasuke the way he deserved.  And one point lost for the character assassination of Sakura and Naruto, respectively.

the series as a Whole? Well I still gave it a 10 and I don't know why. Probably cause I don't care anymore, but I still want to hold the Series in special regard. The Ending that F***ed with everything and all the atrocious crap recently that lead to it? Not even worth considering. The ending alone deserves a -10/10  and THAT is being generous with how I feel right now. :glare:

10? I dunno, I think that's being a bit too generous, but that's just me lol

5/10

Great story set up with interesting characters and relatable themes. Part 2 slowly but surely changed the original direction of the manga and dropped a lot of the character development. The ending led to a depressing dystopian version of where the manga began...and the main characters are barely recognizable, especially Naruto. I didn't feel any joy in Naruto becoming Hokage.

I agree. Naruto getting the Hokage position in the "MESS! Ending" falls very flat.

Oh, Rating is 3. Would've been an 8 if the ending was conclusive and thought of correctly. Without the freaking upcoming movie to fill in gaps.

before chapters 699-700? It was 8/10.

after.. 7/10, I suppose:

I somehow managed to calm down about that dreadful rushed ending and now I`m trying to recall only the enjoyable things that happened through out the whole series.

for me, nostalgy of good times is stronger than recent events..

7/10.Although the ending screwed things up a lot,it started going downhill during the 4th Shinobi World War,everything, although changing still seemed too repetitive to me.Naruto will always be one of the greatest anime/manga because of part 1.People really look down upon and critisize part 1,but truthfully,I think that, as a whole, it was better than part 2.

There seemed to be some quality about it that got me hooked onto Naruto.Once Naruto became more powerful he seemed to have too easy a time of it, unlike in One Piece, when Luffy makes it to the Sabody Archipelago and you think he's all powerful... only for him to be completely defeated and revealed to still be a rookie.Naruto lost it's emotional appeal/turmoil quickly during the second half of part 2.I would rate Part 1 9/10 and Part 2 6/10.

I know that many of you wouldn't agree with me, but this is my opinion.

As for character relationships, I started shipping NaruSaku very early during the series, during part 1, but I wonder if Kishimoto shouldn't have just pulled an Oda who announced that he would not allowed any romantic relationships to become canon in the franchise.
This would have definitely destroyed some emotional appeal to the story although Oda managed to incorporate a lot of emotional appeal into the story in other ways so I think that Kishimoto could have done it as well.

Although the ending (temporary or not) was very important I don't think that it should affect the entire series as a whole from 8/10 to 2-4/10.

Damn, dude. That's harsh. What would you rate it without the last 2 chapters then?

Oh Is hard cause I liked 699...well without 700 a 6..average. Without 699 and 700 a 5.

I would have giving it a really high ranking, but after realizing the themes that I had thought Kishimoto was writing about were false and that alone spoiled the whole series for me.

so 1 out of 10

I don't think I will ever even read it again so the 66 volumes I own will just collect dust on my shelves.

Off the top of my head, 4/10. Some good stuff early on and throughout, but the final arc was botched so horribly and thoroughly that it did irreparable damage to the story.

6/10

There were some parts that I really liked and the premise and setting were both interesting, but the manga started to derail a long time ago. And that ending... Wow, that was horrible.  :twitch:

It's not even the ships and the trashed character development that truly bother me, but the fate of Konoha and the rest of the world. Laptops? Technology? Shinobi being a dying career? It's no longer this fascinating world that I'd love to explore, it's now just... a world.

I read Naruto since I was in High School, Naruto is part of my most precious childhood memories even now, therefore I look up to Naruto in term of ambition, inspiration, never up, hope, dream, friendship, family, bond, hardship and so many things that I have learned to get through by read and watch Naruto. I change a lot because of Naruto's nindo that inspire me to be who I am today that's way I love Naruto's character, manga from the bottom of my heart/with my whole heart. I will definitely give Naruto 10/10  . :D

Ending satisfy or not?

The ending pair is little unexpected, but overall the manga is one the most wonderful master pieces of work I have read. Since I learned about Naruto childhood past and watched Naruto bond with his family in RTN movie and in the manga, I always hope/wish for Naruto to have a family of his own and have a son and daughter and achieved his dream.

My Wish for Naruto to have and to achieved at the end?

  1. To have his own family
  2. To became cool a father
  3. To have a son and daugter
  4. To became a hokage
  5. To have Sakura by his side

:naruto: Everthing that I truly wish for Naruto became reality, I can't said I not satisfy with Naruto ending because is not true! minus NS

I admit that NS not happen make me sad too, but to be honest I know NS won't happen since Hinata character start to have more development during the war and the most obvious evidence is in Chapter 615 then again when Sakura confirmed her feeling again in chapter 693. Naruto won't force against anyone to loves him, Sakura loves Sasuke since the part 1, I don't HATE Sakura for choose Sasuke because love is not something that a person can force another person to change their hearts suddenly. I love Naruto's character because he isn't a selfish brat who will do that to his friend. He will not force/hurt Sakura by making her to choose between him or Sasuke, he always so cheerful and support whatever that will make her happy that's is why I   NS relationship. NS does happening in my opinion, but not in a romantic way, their friendships is what most important and inspire to NS fandom, attracted to see their relationship blossoming and to became loving them, Sakura see Naruto to be annoyance in part 1, but became to truly acknowledge him in part 2;even though, is not in romantic, but I still find it a wonderful relationships. Therefore, I will not used this action to downgrade a great manga like Naruto.

Thankful, Inspire, Loving:

Last but not least, Thank you so much Kishimoto for worked so hard these past 15 years on Naruto, to you it might be just a manga, but to me is a "guide book of life" that have inspire me and change me to be a better person. I love everything about Naruto and wish it will never end, but everyting has it's own ending so I have to let go as well. Thank you so much!!!! :thanks:

Why do people NOT ship these two? I just don't get it.

Probably cause they hate Sakura. When she's probably the most developed female character in the whole show.

I respect Hinata, but Sakura deserves some too.

After the end of Pain's Arc I'd give it a 9.5 out of ten, At the end of the battle with Obito I'd say 8.5, Before the Madara twist I'd say 8.0, by the end of chapter 698 it was down to 7.5, the last two chapter put it down to a 7 and i'm probably being generous here.

If I was to judge it on the past 150 chapters, so after Naruto joined the war, I'd say 6 out of ten is a accurate score, it was all over the place with the way the enemies were introduced but never did anything, Dan was revived but he literally had one scene with a convenient abilty that helped Tsunade, why? Then the way Naruto powered up was ridiculous, I'll admit it was cool and everything but the way it went was ridiculous, went from just mastering the Kurama's chakra to gaining his full trust, and mastering using his chakra in under a day, to getting the sage powers to become a demi-god. Plus it was too sasuke like the way he gained his power, he didn't train to get to the new power levels they were gifted to him, before that he had to earn the power-up and always had to find a workaround.

Don't even get me started on Sasuke, he went from totally bat crazy to sane, to becoming bat crazy to sane again.

The epilogue is a 2 out of ten for me.
