I think this picture is hilarious (and there IS NaruSaku implied):

Temporarlly Mistaken by TwinEnigma --Click here to view--

If you want knowing who is that girl, she is Hasuka Usumaki, one of the TwinEnigma's OOCs of her "In Memoriam Tales" universe. She is daughter of Hana Uzumaki (daughter of Naruto and Sakura) and Rinji Uzumaki (formerly known as Rinji Uchiha, son of Sasuke and Karin). Deviantart artist, AnimeFreakOut started to write a fanfic (Not a Clone) where a younger Sasuke (back when he still seemed somewhat normal and uncrazy) accidentally traveled to the future (a timetravel fic where the traveler goes FORWARD in time? Madness!) and TwinEnigma was inspired to draw that scene.

Link

Again, I think I like that scene so much not only because it is very funny (Hasuka is like her grandmother when she was fifteen, PLUS Sharingan. And Sasuke has found a girl looks right like Sakura, but she is a Sharingan user. It must be mnessing his mind) but also because it hints a big story potential. What it would be like if Team 7 traveled to the far future and met their children or grandchildren? Or if a NS daughter or grandaughter traveled back in time and found Team 7? And if she was bratling from a NS bratling and a SK bratling -right like in this instance- what would Sakura think of seeing a girl EXACTLY like her but wielding the Sharingan? And what Naruto and Sasuke think if they were told their children got married?

And now I am thinking about it... In TwinEnigma's alternate future, the only people carries the Sharingan are Uzumakis (since Rinji got his surname changed when he married Hana). What would think Madara of the Sharingan being passed on Senju's relatives? Oh, the heart attack and the seizures would be wonderful and awe-inspiring.

You can check TwinEnigma's fanart here and her fanfiction here. She has crafted a ton of NS and SK fanworks, and her work is highly recommendable (I personally don't care about SasuKarin, but you really should check it if you are a fan).

Hmm it is kinda funny in the spirit of naruto. Though I have seen summaries of stories on FF.net that are based on similar concepts.

(on a side note, I always wondered if the sharingan could exist in different color eyes besides black(or the "midnight" colors))

Ah. Usually I avoid reading a fic if the summary doesn't sound appealing, and I haven't checked FF.Net for stories on two months, so I guess those stories slipped my notice.

Have you found good stories featuring Naruto and Sakura's offspring? Or even good stories where their offspring travels back in time?

When I find a fic featuring Naruto's second generation I use to assume it is a NH fic unless the summary specifies otherwise. And nowadays, I use to scroll down when I read the words "time travel fic" on the summary. So I may have missed them.

On second thought, maybe I should make this question in the Fanfiction section.

Ahhhhh, to be perfectly honest, Jenskott, your questions about all the what-ifs were why I'd never done a crackfic time travel story. Depending on who went forward and who went back and when, it all got, as we like to say in the Doctor Who fandom, very Wibbly-Wobbly, Timey Whimey. As a result, I never got anything I quite liked solidly worked out (though some rough fanfics do exist on my harddrive) and just did some cracky little sketches for a laugh.

When AnimeFreakOut asked to do "Not A Clone," she had to ask a lot of questions about the characters to set this up, including a lot about their personalities and how they'd react. Hasuka actually came up as the one with the worst reaction to Sasuke - both are stubborn and Hasuka has Sakura's temper, so in the suggested scenario where Sasuke pulls his "blar, I am Uchiha, I don't have to tell you ANYTHING" arrogance card, she assumes that he's hurt her little brother and decides she will take him as a serious threat, enough to use an ability she won't normally use (as Sharingan munches chakra like candy, a bad thing for a medic). In contrast, Hasuka's little brother Minoru treats Sasuke like a weirder version of his broody teammate - basically, he thinks he's a jerk and gets in his face, just like Naruto would do.

I honestly have no idea where she'll take the story - I've given her probably more about the characters than most people get to see outside of the actual doujinshi script (and she still doesn't know what happens in that, ha). So, I'm still waiting to see where she goes with it.

The few I hashed out, but won't post, I can summarize.
Skip if you wish. --Click here to view--

1. Rinji and Hana get separated on an escort mission, defending the chuunin and client from an S-ranked missing nin. The missing nin attempts to use a forbidden jutsu, but Hana's strike hits him at the same time he completes it and just as Rinji is pulling her away. Said jutsu explodes, pulling all three back in time and sending them flying. They finish their fight, unaware that a genin squad is approaching on the road.

Hana and Rinji spend most of the time basically trying to figure out how to get back and avoid everyone's questions - Rinji, in particular, avoids Sasuke like he's got the plague. Hana, on the other hand, finds her younger parents both alarming and hilarious in equal measure. Particularly jarring for her is realizing she and her mother are scarily alike at age 12, in terms of attitude towards someone they eventually end up in a relationship with (Hana thought Rinji was an unreliable sissy as a genin; Sakura thought Naruto was an annoying idiot).

2. Minoru accidentally overloads a jutsu in a fight with his ex-teammate. He smooshes into the dirt, dusts himself off and immediately decides it's a good time for lunch, unaware he's in the past, just before the Ninja War his grandfather participated in.

Hilarity ensues when he's mistaken for a Sasuke from the back.

3.
Team 7 goes forward in time to the third generation - some time shortly after the grandson Minoru gets Hokage position. Something unseen on the training ground attacks and drives them through the bushes and then Hasuka's team comes charging in to handle it. Hasuka, after dryly joking she didn't realize there was anyone else with her little brother's dorky haircut, sends the three genin back to Hokage Tower to report. Minoru thinks he's being pranked.

Hilarity ensues when he realizes he isn't.

I do know there were some spectacular reactions and misunderstandings, particularly in the latter case, that were only cleared up when either Rinji or Hana appeared and explained things. In particular, Sakura had the best ones, especially at age 12, because she'd assume one thing and then have it turned on its head when the truth is revealed. A lot of it, though, was very dependent on who went and when. Obviously, Sakura and Naruto at 16 won't react the same way as when they were 12. The middle one did have one tentative encounter with Madara that did not end well - neither party was pleased. So yeah, I tend to treat it as crack and let Sakura and Naruto freak out about it.

I really think, though, that Naruto and Sasuke would bicker over which family their respective child will join.

(Originally, though, in the first drafts for the doujinshi, the third generation didn't exist. When they did appear, only one of them, Tsubaki, was supposed to have the Sharingan. I later extended it to the other two, when I realized Uchiha eyes are actually grey and that would put them under a light color category, but that's neither here nor there.)

@_@;;; so yeah.

I understand you perfectly well. I also got a ton of half-baked drafts of fanfics of many series I have never been able to complete either because my story wasn't enough good or because I lost my motivation to write or... because real life.

Your ideas sound pretty good (I'm wondering how many times we would read the classic scene in the first draft: "Oh, why don't you stop complaining and being a baby and grow up! It isn't so hard- Some trouble, Hana-san? Why are you groaning like that?" "It's nothing, m-... Sakura-san. It is only you sound much like my mother." "... Yes. Right."). But I agree it would be hard to choose the setup with the biggest potential.

However I saw your fanart and I just thought: "I just HAVE to share this". Well, that was my first thought after: "I want reading more!". I wonder what AnimeFreakOut will do. I hope it is good and interesting.

xD Yeah, that's how it is with fanfics.

more on the concepts --Click here to view--
The first one actually has the most written for it - including the opening fight, all the way down to the point at which Team 7 enters the picture. I'd started writing it mostly to practice writing combat and the result is amazing. It was the most solidly angsty one, though, because of Rinji and Sasuke. Hana's parts were the most lighthearted it got - she mostly giggles at their antics and quickly backpedals once or twice, saying "Oh, you remind me of me at that age" or "you'd be surprised how things can change," which Sakura at 12 would just brush off.

The others were more cracky and humorous, particularly the last - in one draft, team 7 gets to the tower, only for the assistant jounin to realize the Hokage has snuck out for ramen, much to his ire. The other drafts feature Team 7 trying to wrap their minds around the concept of an elderly Ino, the marked difference in appearances between Minoru and his sisters and what that means, and the fact that there are nine heads on the monument, one of which has some very familiar whisker marks. Some of their planned interactions, like Hasuka's conversation with Sakura about how hard it is to coordinate outfits with pink hair and Sakura's confusion over how blue eyes and pink hair can be from the same family as green eyes and black hair, are very funny - the latter particularly when she sees Naruto and Minoru side by side, chowing down on ramen and realizes they have the same shape face. Almost all drafts include Naruto demanding to know where Sarutobi is and getting frustrated when Minoru and his staff think he means Konohamaru. But there's always a serious undercurrent - Minoru tries to make sure no one tells them what will happen in their futures and Team 7 keeps trying to guess why the village has changed and what's happened, which leads to a particularly chilling moment when Sasuke discovers his name on the monument.

Thing is, it was less about the one with the most potential and more like I just never thought it could be done without some information slipping from the future to the past, information which could change things drastically.

There's always a risk allowing someone else to write in a verse you've built. I'm hoping she'll do an awesome job.

But... Only pure Uchiha can be born with the Sharingan, right? And even then then numbers were only 20% of them had the ability. I'm not sure a Uchiha + Uzumaki could produce a child having the Sharingan ability let alone Karin + Sasuke.

I could be wrong XD

I never saw any information to verify that for sure, only that a few activated it (and few might be relative, given how large the clan was) and almost all that have appeared with it are either related or active combatants or both, who activated it in a situation where their life was directly threatened. Since it looked like an ability that very much depended on exposure to significant amounts of adrenaline in a situation where the user actively feared for their life and didn't appear to follow any specific gender rules, I winged it.

Besides, generation three was more intended only to serve as part of a thematic closure to the doujinshi concept I've been working out (I had the ending written well before the beginning, actually xD) and what happens in Not A Clone/Temporally Mistaken is more crack than anything.

I just kinda built their appearances and personalities and did the abilities from there based on what felt right for the story and it's themes. They were very much designed with Naruto reflecting on the past in mind. Minoru is heavily modeled on both Naruto and Konohamaru's personalities and skills - he's intended to both call back to the way Konohamaru was with the Third and how Naruto's become that sort of God of Shinobi figure, as well as to how Naruto was as a child. Tsubaki's modeled on a mix of Kushina, Sasuke and Itachi - she represents, in part, Sasuke as he saw himself. Hasuka is a tsundere modeled on Sakura, Kushina and Karin - she's a nod primarily to Sakura and her growth from a brat to an adult.

So there's not really a lot of up front, genetic logic that follows there. @_@;;; If that makes any sense at all...

Maybe not so much the time-travel aspect though. That's always been sort of an either I do it or I don't thing.

Yes, that would be problematic. Time traveling fics use to fall in the trap of the time travelers always revealing some crucial information. If you are trying avoiding that, it is harder (specially if the time-travelers are in the future! How do you keep everything from them?).

Don't worry about it. When you write one story, sometimes you have to disregard reality in favor of the Rule of the Cool. So long as that universe's rules remain consistent within the own self-created world, the story is pausible and their developments acceptable.

Have I said "the Rule of Cool"? Yes, I have said that. Ugh. TvTropes, I accurse thee.

I know the third potential fic I mentioned actually had justification for the parallel version of In Memoriam (that I call "Happy End") existing. They couldn't send Team 7 back without them having remembered at least something.

I think I'm pretty consistent with that and In Memoriam verse has wiggle room to spare, since I've been very careful about what I reveal and what I don't. Rule of Cool though played pretty heavily into the creation of the background teams, villains, and the mercenaries used by the villains.

Greetings, fellow Troper.
