Ok. Why are people complaining? I thought all of em were pretty decent. The good endings anyways. It pretty much resolved everything! No more reapers one way or another, peace between the civilizations... Shepard dies. But i thought they were satisfying.

Maybe it was because of the Deus Ex Machina crap that they pulled at the end.

Maybe it was because when played back to back the endings are 95% the same with different colored explosions.

Maybe because there was no closure for any of your squadmates or for the galaxy.

Maybe because everything you did in the 3 games meant absolutely nothing.

Take your pick.

Mass Effect 3's ending was an abomination and a disgrace to writers like myself everywhere.

Oh come on! Obviously, they really only had one ending in mind. So what if it was different colored explosions? In 2? Different squad mates die. So they don't show up in the next game. Why do you need closure for the squadmates? This was Shepards story. How he (you) led things. If you found out they all die is it really that important? And what are you saying? T hePoint was, get through the story. Same as bunch of other trilogies. Because the third game ending isn't great you trash it?

1) Different colored explosions means it was lazy writing. Casey Hudson decided to ignore other writers in favor of this ending for his "philosophical ending".

2) Closure for his squadmates? Because it's a narrative and you are supposed to give closure for the loose ends. That would be a loose end.

3) If the point was simply to get through the story then you really missed the entire point of the game.

So yes I will trash the game for being lousy in its final moments even though 99% of the story brought me great happiness.

Yes, it is because the third game ending isn't great that we trash it. We are hating the ending, not the whole series. The Mass Effect series itself was great but the ending just won't do.

Sorry I guess I misunderstood you for a sec. Sorry for getting upset... Heh. No i understand the point was not to get through the story. And i thought you were trashing the entire game... Yeah the endings weren't perfect. Not as great as the could have been... Hmm... Well opinions are opinions are guess.

Oh boy there we go. So is this spoiler free or not? I guess I will put spoiler tags anyway.

To start, this ending is an big middle finger to any real mass effect fan. The series is about both character development and diversity on choice, but the ending give us none. We don't know what happens to our friends and squad, what happens to the entire galaxy, there is just no feeling of closure whatsoever.

First, mass relays are destroyed, no matter what you do. This means, no more galatic comunity, no more travels beetwen clusters, and the remains of that big ass fleet that came with you will be stranded on earth forever, good job everyone, we just saved the galaxy, now, we will never go back home and stay stuck in this half destroyed planet. Hell, the turians and quarians can't even eat our food, they will just slowly starve to death!

And now the choices, to start, they are a obvious ripoff from the first deus ex game, with pratically 3 indentical choices. And all of them feel wrong in some way. In one we destroy the reapers, together with the geth and EDI, that's right, I achieved peace beetwen quarians and geth only to fry the poor bastards later. In control, we leave Shepard to control the reapers, without even knowing if that infinite power won't corrupt him one day. And in synthesis, we play god, and change the whole galaxy DNA against their will, without knowing what effects we might face later.

And then the normandy crew get's stranded, foverer stuck on a planet forced to eventually become an tribe of inbreads while Tali and Garrus will probally starve to death. Why was Joker escaping from the blast anyway? The Normandy was leading the attack, wich also leads to plot holes. How is possible that the squad that was supposed to die in Harbinger attack, appear unharmed inside the Normandy in the ending scene? Did they teleported? Did Joker picked them up and left Shepard to die?! And how Shepard got that message from Hacket inside the citadel, din't his armor got totally fried? How his radio can still work? And then there is this damn god child, why Shepard can't confront him, why he just blindly follow his advice about how to end the war? There is more I could point out, but I'm too tired for that.
