Bored! Molly's taking her third nap today and even though I usually enjoy this time I kinda wish she were awake so I could play with her! lol Sigh, back to folding laundry and watching bad T.V.

Heh, the grass on the other side is always greener, huh? When she's awake you want her asleep, and when she's asleep you want her awake. Make up your mind already, woman XDD

MOLLY slept from 9pm until 7am this morning~ IN the crib! Hallelujah!

Molly woke up three times in each of the last two nights.

Molly's ped. called in sick today, so I have to reschedule her 6 month appointment.

John and I had a bit of a back-n-forth last night.

I guess you're right BL, all I do is complain. But I need a place where I'm allowed to complain without being made to feel bad about it.

You're not complaining — you're a mom! Your job is to shift with their moods...and...it's...so...hard! Too bad they don't pop out with an instruction card tied around their ankle. That would be so lovely. Hang in there. Every day is different. Sometimes every hour....

Saw your blog today (and read it all over).
I'm a mother to 2 sons - 4 yrs 2 months and 2 yrs 3 months (yeah I'm an old geek ) Reading through your entries made me take a trip to those wonderful babyhood days! I breastfed too - exclusive breastfeeding uptil 6 months for both - no solid no other fluids at all, so I understand your pain, lol.
Trust me...these babyhood days are so quickly gone, so enjoy it to the max! Much too soon (in merely months) your daughter will be running around and will be miss independent...

Molly is cutting her first tooth! It looks terrible! I wonder if this is why she's been such a crappy sleeper the last few weeks.

Congratulations! The same thing happened to my sister although not quite as quickly.

Been awhile! Molly is 9 months and two weeks. We had her wellness check today and she weighed in at 16lbs and 5.5oz. Her head circumference was in the 85th percentile iirc, and her height is 8th... so she like her mama: Short and smart!
Still no little brother or sister for her, yet. Went through this whole ordeal of seeing a sac on ultrasound but no baby.. but maybe someday.. if I can convince Mr. Babydaddy to go through it again.
Anyway, Molly is pulling herself up to stand, though not walking yet. Crawls like a champ, developing well. Her eyes and hair color have not changed and probably wont. Which amazes me because I can't really describe either! Her eyes change from greenish to bluish to grey. Her hair is some weird but beautiful mix of gold, red, and brown. When it grows longer it may darken a bit but its taking its dear sweet time!
So everything is going pretty well. For a long time she was waking up several times a night but she seems to have outgrown that for the most part. Next thing to work on is teaching her to fall asleep on her own, without the aide of being rocked or driven or nursed.
Speaking of nursing, she's nearly weaned. She eats solids for all her meals and only really breastfeeds when she's thirsty or when I'm trying to put her to sleep.

See you might think this was all just cute, but what you may not know is that the baby just made the sign of death to come... or maybe I'm just making things up again.

It's been like 5 months since I last posted any details so for my own reference I'll talk about how things are going down in daily life. Molly is now 14 months old.

Molly's first steps were unforgettable. For a long time she would just stand up without holding on to anything and she seemed to be too afraid to move her feet. We were all in the kitchen when she finally took the plunge, and took a few steps. She didn't fall down! Of course, we gushed over her and praised her for the accomplishment. And it only took a couple weeks before she was walking all over the house like a boss.

She is eating nothing but solids now. Refuses all baby food, and vegetables. I'm hoping she'll grow to like them, but for now I have to hide veggies in egg scrambles and zucchini bread. I put peas and corn in her pasta hoping that it'll somehow make it down her gullet, but she's pretty adept at picking them out and just eating what she likes.

She's also down to one nap a day. I still have to walk/dance her to sleep while I'm holding her, and she still wakes up once or twice a night. Lately, she's started to have bad dreams which she wakes up screaming from. It scares the crap out of me, but I've read that it's part of her natural development.

Molly loves to wear shoes! She will be playing with her toys on the floor then suddenly bring me a shoe as if she's asking me to put it on her foot. I oblige, naturally. And when I'm putting her shoes on her feet she helps me out by pointing her toes.
