Well, Kishimoto has moreso than most. But he's talked about how the vast majority of letters he gets are from girls and women, not boys. We have Orochimaru and Kabuto who are overtly gay, Sai who is fairly assuredly gay, Ones that tend to code as manga "gay"- Yamato, Gai, Jyugo, and ambiguous, but they all had their strongest bond with their greatest male rival and had/have mixed hate with a love that shades into romantic feelings- Madara, Danzo, Sasuke

That's fangirls. Naruto's public is much higher than that and is compound in most for boys, who do not even participate in these polls.

That's not the main reason. The real reason KakaIru is so popular as a yaoi pairing because the two signifies the "Older/Younger" teacher relationship or more sempai and the japanese word that I totally forgot right now for the younger person. Ciardha has a very better detail about this situation, so ask her.

You mean the one that highlights Sasuke as some type of demonic monster, and that makes her look like shes about to toss her cookies?

Seriously, treating that as a prosasusaku image is pushing things beyond the realm of sanity. Thinking of Sasuke makes her feel ill and depressed- "ooh it's trw luv..."

I did not mean that boys do not participate in all kinds of polls. I mean that boys do not participate in polls about couples. It is clear that in polls about the characters and Jutsus favorites, they not only participate, how likely are the majority. (By the way. Anyone knows who conducts these polls about the popularity of couples? Because in the manga only appear results about Jutsus and Characters popularity .)

And of course that most of the letters that Kishimoto receive are from women . Men, in mostly, do not usually spend their time analyzing anything, much less writing letters.

We are not going mad. Naruto is a Shonen (manga for boys). It is an entertainment and is a business! Make a lot of money! If the public KakaIru were so relevant as the male audience, we would have less fight scenes and more scenes of interaction between the two. But in reality they barely speak!

I do not mean that the Yaoi's public has no influence . But, for sure, the influence of the male audience is much larger. Thankfully for us fans of NaruSaku. Because the majority public does not care about who Naruto is going to be marry . This leaves our author free (at least free from monetary pressures) to do what he wants.

So the question to ask is, what he wants to do? And to me is so obvious that Naruto and Sakura are planned to get together from the beginning by Kishimoto.

And indeed, Ciardha was the first person to tell me that.

I have to agree that the "sexual culture" in Japan is, at least, complex. On one hand they are extremely conservative (until kiss is a little kind of taboo). And another way... all these things ...

Its nothing about being OK, just stating that to reduce sex crimes its better to be open and talk about it, I'm pretty sure those criminals have been shunned and closed off from info, not that it solves everything but I feel that being open about it goes a long way Anyways back on topic here Yeah Kishimoto said he was trying to portray an honest girl but with with 540 Lots are starting to second guess this statement and are suffering backlash! look at us we are talking about this kind of stuff on a Naruto forum
