A soldier opened fire on a military processing center at Fort Hood in Texas on Thursday, killing 11 people and wounding 31, officials at the Army base said.

Update - One shooter already arrested. Other shooter still trying to be found.

Yeah, It was a Muslim "Hasan" that was stationed at Fort Hood military base. The military police force thought they killed him but they didn't, now that he is still alive I'm pretty sure the FBI/CIA will give him a the thorough interrogation and trial. My heart goes out to the families too. Sounds like we need to bring our troops home and spend all the millions of dollars that is spent on repairing blown up buildings one after another on beefing up our own homeland security instead.

Nice name drop with the muslim thing. Still don't think this is a "terrorist" plot. I think this was just a guy losing the battle to PTSD and flipping out.

To my knowledge, he was actually supposed to be a psychiatry intern, so he did not have PTSD, he was supposed to be treating them for PTSD.

Yeah, this is a terrible tragedy. My condolences go out to the families who lost their loved ones.

What I really don't get is that this guy didn't approve of the two wars we were fighting. If that's the case, why did this guy join the army? Wouldn't that be a red flag to the people who recruited him.

Well, look at the fact that he was a doctor, he probably joined the Army before hand to pay for school and become an officer. And show me a psych doc who doesn't get affected by treating the patients he does.

As more evidence continues to comes to light, the less likely it is that the above theories appear to be the case and the more likely it seems that the Army just dropped the ball on this one (and that's being generous). Moreover, it actually appears his Muslim faith is quite relevant and related to his behavior. While this says far more about the man who practices the faith than anything, I'm not going to ignore the obvious in an effort to sound politically correct.
