#991200 The Great Naruto Discussion Thread

I feel like the fact that The Last and the Boruto movie are both coming out alongside Road to Ninja this month on Netflix (10 years since the ending) is some sort of "test" for Western audiences to see if the spawn and its dad are still viable (pfft), or if the audiences now prefer essentially an alternative.

#987781 Kakashi should have actually trained Sakura.

Posted by HalfDemonInuyasha on 20 September 2022 - 06:12 PM

Hell thats whats most vexing, Sakura actually subverts at least one tsundere trope in that she doesnt hit Naruto that much at all, 3-4 times max the entire manga. the anime is responsible for adding so many Sit boy moments to her character that she comes off as abusive when the reality is very different

And it's usually Naruto's own idiocy that results in her doing it too, not just "out of nowhere" or anything.

ha funny but imagine if it was naruto as vader in the suit

Now I'm imagining the aftermath of their first fight in the Valley of the End, only Naruto is Anakin and Kakashi arriving is Palpatine.

The Uchiha's eyes are the swiss army knife of eyes, they have everything and can do everything.

Speaking of their eyes, can someone explain to me how does transferring ones Mangekyo eyes into another give you Eternal Mangekyo.

I mean my understanding of how it's suppose to work is that once you gain the Mangekyo you start losing your sight, the more you use its powers the quicker you lose your sight. And in order to regain your vision and more powers even, you have take the eyes of another Mangekyo sharingan user. That's what I remember.

Now maybe I'm the only one that thought about this, but how does transferring the eyes of someone who's losing their vision gets you back your vision? My understanding is that in order to get the Eternal, you need the eyes of someone who's got the Mangekyo, so someone who's losing or lost their sight. How does getting rid of your bad eyes and getting another's bad eyes gets you good vision?

I mean I know the whole transferring eyes thing was mainly so Itachi can scare Sasuke, at least in that point, but eventually it became the rule of how it works.

IIRC, it's not even just another Mangekyo Sharingan set in general, but specifically a set from a sibling who also had a Mangekyo Sharingan (so Madara taking Izuna's eyes and Sasuke getting Itachi's), so if you're a single child, you're SOL, lol.

Like I said, It's essentially a story where you got shot by someone. Then you forgive them and say it wasn't their fault. Then let them SHOOT YOU again. IT. IS. POINTLESS. All of the sob stories for the villain, all of the force feeding the audience that they are not villains but victims of circumstance, all of that blaming the ninja system instead of individual choices and the whatnot and Kishi couldn't even conclude that cheap message properly about ending the era of ninjas. It was all to set up Boruto which is yet another reason this trash heap has over stayed it's welcome.

And if that's not bad enough, they didn't even try to hide the fact that things just repeat themselves in the very first chapter only *GASP!* the characters have been swapped! Now the "Sasuke" wants to change the system while the "Naruto" wants to defend it!

So...what? Are we NOW supposed to root for Boruto's dad's spawn and DEFEND the very same system they spent the entire last half of Shippuden blaming for the entire world's and every individuals' problems?

Further shows they have no idea what they want to do except pray that lightning strikes twice hence all the repeating of the same types of plot points as "Naruto" so far in "Boruto", right down to the whole "system" argument.

I would say the Uchiha were the worse when it came to what Kishi did again; they went crazy because they loved too much, which, when I first read it, I just laughed over how stupid it was.

I feel Kishi also didn't know when someone needed a tragic past, and I feel he overused it too much.

Now I remember watching season 8 of the walking dead when Carl died and I remember this that someone said.

"This was the most heartbreaking finale yet in the series, nothing could be more devastating than for a man to lose his son,"

Something I agree with and hence why Vanitas and I talk about a better way to make a villain is to have them lose a child, one that they love and feels the pain of losing them.

It feels like, starting with Nagato, Naruto just became about nobody taking personal responsibility for anything. It all became solely "the system's" fault and never the personal choices made by the person(s) in question. Would the person(s) have made different choices if "the system" were different? Possibly, but "what-ifs" are no excuse for the crimes committed at the present time.

And look...despite all the talk about "the system" and how much it hurt all these "tragic" characters... NARUTO DOESN'T EVEN CHANGE "THE SYSTEM"!  :bash:

The more I look deeper the worse it looks now. Naruto is extremely naïve, altruistic, stupid, and does not understand what he is truly talking about. Does he really think that every single person other than him would seek revenge and HE is the only one who knows better? The other Konoha KNEW that Sasuke was dangerous. They all knew and he essentially ignored all the people he so called "friend."

So you scold the good guys for wanting justice for the crimes done to them, but when a bad guy wants to kill or enslave everyone then we should not do anything, but try and understand them; pat them on the head; and tell them it is not their fault?

Naruto is the WORST hero ever.  I thought Goku was bad, but Goku is just dumb. Naruto actively thinks he is a good person whole damning the actual good people around him.

The only think I know at this point is is that I can kill his family, rape his wife, and destroy his village, but as long as I don't go after Sasuke he will forgive me.

Makes me wonder if Kakashi knew the whole time that Itachi was a good guy. Would explain so much.

Also can't forget that you must also be some sort of "foil" of Naruto for him to forgive you and let you off the hook - being a "tool" for someone / the village (Haku / Gaara), being a "lonely child" (Sasuke / Gaara), being a Jinchuruki (Gaara), and/or wanting to be (Ho)kage (Obito). Otherwise, your reasons for whatever "evil" thing you did / are doing / are going to do are wrong and you must be stopped.

Unfortunately, also being Jiraiya's student doesn't count, so Naruto "couldn't forgive" Nagato since he didn't fit any of the other criteria.

Reminds me of how Team 10 was allowed by, and even assisted by, Kakashi to go out and seek revenge on Kakuzu and Hidan for Asuma's death, yet he tries to stop Sasuke from seeking revenge on Itachi.
