Boku dake ga Inai Machi (ERASED)

 

             

 

 

Summery : Struggling manga author Satoru Fujinuma is beset by his fear to express himself. However, he has a supernatural ability of being forced to prevent deaths and catastrophes by being sent back in time before the incident occurred, repeating time until it is prevented. One day, he gets involved in an incident that has him framed as a murderer. Desperate to save the victim, he sends himself back in time only to find himself as a grade-schooler one month before fellow classmate Kayo Hinazuki went missing. Satoru now embarks on a new quest: to save Kayo and solve the mystery behind her disappearance.

 

The anime is animated by A-1 pictures, and the first episode came out yesterday (Here's a link if you're interested: https://kissanime.to...e-ga-Inai-Machi) Gotta say this episode was a surprise for me. I really liked it, and the animation is on point!

 

Anyone watching the anime?

Heard they were going after the manga original ending. Either way, I don't really care if it's going to be an anime or manga original ending.

It's going to be manga ending. Just wonder if that means the manga is near end then.

Haven't read the manga, so I can't tell, sorry. But there's 34 chapters translated, and I don't know if the scans are up to date.

I binge-read the manga and looked at some raws to the most recent chapters. From what I've seen, the manga is definitely nearing the end.

 

Anyways, definitely one of the best anime starts so far! I'm just concerned how much A-1 will chuck of to put all the material in.

Is the manga worth reading? If it's going to end soon, I think I'll take my time reading it.

It's an easy read if you ask me.

I have a few critiques of course. First of all, the MC doesn't all act his proper MENTAL age in his child form. If he had done that, the investigations he and his buddies were doing would have gone more carefully and smoothly. He's basically a lower version of Conan in ever way possible. The main culprit was disappointingly predictable I suppose. There never really are any leads that hint towards him/her. There really aren't. In fact, there are misleading leads that point away from him/her. So it's a bit disappointing when the reveal comes over as a bit cliche. Oh, than there's one chapter that makes you feel really, REALLY salty later on (Has to do with ships).

Those are some minor critiques I have. Overall, it's not a deep story, but a very exciting story. If you're looking for a quick read, you won't regret it.

Also, the dead mom- best mom of this anime year, I guarantee it. The lengths she goes to protect her son...

Great second episode!
I really how the Satoru's past is presented in the letterbox format (like in Gintama recently). Not only does this heighten the aspect of watching at the past as if you were in a movie theater but it also seems like the color palette can be used more effectively and concentrated due to the smaller frame.
Satoru's interaction with his mom was sweet and touching.

Episode 3: Another great episode! I gotta say that I already prefer the anime over the manga. The grim color palette, the music, the voice acting (you go Aoi Yuki), the camera shots, and the overall execution elevate the suspense a lot more than in the manga.

Looks like the general anime community recognizes this anime to be best of this season XD I might be pulling straws, but depending on how the manga ends, this might become a smaller scale version of the Steins;Gate hype.

EDIT: And that scene under the "Christmas Tree" was beautifully done.
