What got me that they said Ashura and Indra are super popular...

 

...when the hell they became popular?!

I have no idea, but weren't they shoved in just so that they could push the whole Naruto and Sasuke are as close as brothers, and this was why they had this So-called bond with Sasuke.

 

But I have no idea why people would think they are popular.

If we go by that popularity poll they are not. Indra was #49 only above Yamato. The Uzumaki clan head from Kushina's info dump is more popular.

 

My guess is that they were the last potential characters they haven't been added to an earlier game. This game in an attempt to get as much profit out of something with basically zero development cost. Hoping that their are fans both loyal enough to buy it and stupid enough not to notice its an almost exact copy of a game they probably already have.

 

This also probably to bolster Sony's ps5 exclusive line up as apparently the event where that trailer was released, it was one of the more impressive games...the bar was that low.

What speaks to me is that Boruto obviously is not popular enough to become it's own franchise and like I said is coasting of of Naruto's former popularity to keep it afloat. Telling that there is no game made that focuses on the new gen characters alone despite the authorities promoting the "new gen of Naruto" with highlights, loud music and fanfare from atop a skyscraper at the time.

If anything they are controversial, after the revelation that naruto and sasukr are the reincarnations of them.

Further spitting on the message of the "fighting against destiny" Naruto told Neji in opposition of his views on "you are defined by what you're born with." He just accepts it and no saying he'll fight with his own power or anything, even though technically he never did even during the fight with Neji looking back on it.

Hypocrisy at its best.

He did fight against Neji using his own power, and he lost. Then he asked the Kyuubi for some power and then he won.

Reminds me of the last fight between Naruto and Sasuke, where Sasuke declares that he will defeat Naruto using his own power, then immediately in the next panel Sasuke gets power from all the tailed beasts.

Never liked that. I know in my fanfic, I have it that Naruto and Sasuke are descendants to Ashura and Indra instead of reincarnations, with Naruto being a less direct one while Sasuke is more direct to show the big difference in their abilities.

There are a lot of videos that talk about the hypocrisy that's in Naruto. It's in an abundance, but I still love everything up to the Pain Fight. I REALLY wish it had ended there because it would have been the perfect time. 

 

Naruto defeats Pain and finally earns Sakura's love.

 

Tsunade goes into her coma and wakes up a few weeks later, and retires after learning what Naruto did.

 

Naruto is offered the title of Hokage, but turns it down until Sasuke returns. 

 

Sasuke kills Itachi and wanders off into the wilderness where he eventually encounters Leaf Ninja. Because Madara hadn't told him the truth, Sasuke is still redeemable and surrenders peacefully. He is brought back to the village to be put on trial, but Naruto convinces Tsunade not to have him executed. Instead, Sasuke must serve a multi-year prison sentence, but will be released in time. 

 

Sasuke is released and pardoned, and then Team 7 finally reunites. 

 

Naruto finally accepts the title of Hokage and the story concludes.

I still remember to this day when that chapter came out and it definitely caused a huge split in the fanbase.  Definitely more so on the negative side of things then anything, but if I remember the chapter thread correctly I know some of us (myself included) were like... "It's okay the ending is gonna make up for it." < -  oh.... the state of denial we all were in sighs... 

 

 

 

Like there are so many things that get set up in Part 1 and get twisted around during the timeskip especially the 4th great ninja war, and the reincarnation twist was definitely one of those!

I'm actually kind of convinced Naruto WAS supposed to end after the Pain fight, but the franchise was one of the bigger named titles at the time, so SP needed Kishi to keep going. There's a noticeable decline in the writing after that point in the story, you could kind of tell Kishi was pulling stuff from his ass to make the series go on for the next several years.

I've been having that mindset for Naruto's story for a long time.  I still remember when we entered the 5 Kage Summit Arc  that something felt totally off in terms of the story telling and definitely with the way Naruto's character was being written.  

 

He went through a decent amount of development since the timeskip and he really peaked at the pain arc. 

 

 

 

This could just be my take, but I almost feel like Naruto as a character was soft-rebooted by the time the pain arc came to an end.

I think that's due more to yahagi influence being fully gone at this point as he help kishimoto set up the pain arc before he left. Afterwards he got new editors which didn't do the series any good.

Besides there was still a few things left to after the pain arc that it couldn't just rap it up and end it there, even if kishimoto wanted to. After all you still had the remaining akatsuki members to deal with, the mystery of madara, kabuto, the kage summit set up in the pain arc and that naruto and sasuke needed to clash one more time.

Well It is not like it wasn't there up until the Pain Invasion. It was just much  more noticeable and blatant after it. Some serious changes needed to have been done for everything after the Pain Invasion arc because that was when morals messages to the series were getting shot down left and right, or new ones were being pulled out of the @$$ with no actual direction, or sensibility. Again, the most blatant is the anti war message in a series about Ninjas, so kind of contradictory and hypocritical, don't you think? Especially after you see in Boruto nothing has changed.

Shueisha made a video with a compilation of the most popular and iconic Thank you/couples scenes in mangas history.

The only scene choose from Naruto's manga was a Sakura one.

Although a SS scene was choose and they ignored Naruto, MinaKushi, ShikaTenma, NaruSaku,NaruHina and others famous scenes.  

 

I liked who they totally ignored Hinata.  She never was able to surpass Sakura in Japan even with Pierrot trying to put NH/Hinata as a main Heroine and Couple.

Sucks the protagonist have to be excluded in this video and Sasuke/Rival is in his place with Sakura.

But it was Kishimoto's decision with NH.

He knew NH was pretty much dead outside Studio Pierrot.

Well they have paused the series for the first time. Looking at the manga. It might be finally heading to the time skip which I imagine SP want to be done with part one as well. So they will rush towards it, once they get the go ahead...maybe even before. It won't take long to go through. Which means the rest of the year at the least will be filler to pause for the time skip and the hopefully faster part two of Boruto. So going back to part one Naruto is a boost of rating and probably more retcons like they did with the time travel anniversary story.

From watching the video, they seem to have chosen iconic emotional moments. They prefer romantic, but if they couldn't get that, sad like Ace's death, or Ichigo's resolve after learning about his whole history. Sasuke's reject of Sakura's confession is one of the most well known iconic emotional moments in Naruto that fit into a single panel.

NH is so boring/unpopular/non existent in manga.  Only Pierrot Fillers remembers them.

The best Ikemoto can do is put Hinata slaping Kawaki

Most likely NH will be ignored forever by side materiais, publicity and by the JP fandom.  . This  hurts Naruto's character as the supposed old protagonist.

 

At this poins it's impossible for NH suparss SS. SS  are composed by two main characters. NH are just Naruto and a figurant big chested. NS could potentially suparss SS in the long run if they were canon.

But now SS will remain as the main couple.

 

They know they can milk the  SS/Sakura fans for all their money because they're still a big portion of the Naruto  fandom compared to the self inserts NH/Hinata ghosts.
