Hi,

This is only my second post after my introduction post, so please forgive any etiquette errors and please correct me so I can learn the right way to do things around here.

My problem (apart from being mildly obsessed with Naruto and NaruSaku):

I started with the anime but am now trying to catch up and read the manga, from chapter 1-632 (as of today).  I couldn't help myself but I looked at a few chapters ahead that have been referred to and I found a trend.

I was sure what I found is something the regulars on this forum found long ago, so I tried to use google to find the posts to validate/confirm/explain my idea.  However, I have failed, hence this thread.

In 3, after Sasuke called Sakura annoying, she gets a better understanding of Naruto.  Then, in 183, Sakura has a flashback to 3, about her saying Naruto does not understand her and realises a deeper understanding of Naruto.  Then, in 458 when Sai confronts her about Naruto's love for her, she has flashbacks to 183 and gains a still deeper understanding of Naruto.

I was just wondering what's Naruto's trend, if any?  Does it start at the confession at 469, which he could not accept because he was fixated on the old team 7, which is then shattered by Sai in 474?

Any help and insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! Welcome to Heaven and Earth!! :D Well, to answer your question I would not call it a trend really. I may need a bit more explaining of what you mean by trend for a a full answer. But yes you have detected a sort of pattern here. Sakura  realizes how much Naruto understands her when ever she thinks about him in a very thoughtful manner, and  while it is not specific to the point of a trend as far as I know she realizes that he knows her thoughts and feelings to a very personal degree, and it is a solid basis for their close relationship. I hope that helps.

hello there, welcome to H&E!
to be honest, i never thought about any NaruSaku trend, or any chapter indication leading to NaruSaku.. however, i believe you have a very good point! now, i really want to check out the manga again as it got me curious..
but Kishi is unpredictable and predictable at the same time so it's hard to say.. while we are still contemplating how things will slowly go to a certain point, he goes and drop the bomb.. as of now, lets wait for others opinion.. there's so many here who are way more NauSaku experts than i will ever be :-)
enjoy!

Thanks for the replies to my post.

I think I used the wrong word, you're right pattern is a better way of saying it.

I have been reading through the manga and also trying to read posts from the people on H&E and I think I'm slowly coming to a better understanding of what's actually going on.  The anime confused me like hell!

Cheers for the assists :D

Welcome! I'm new here too!

You bring up a great point about the flashbacks between Naruto and Sakura. While I can't make any predictions, I'm hoping that the forehead comment comes up again and brings Sakura/both back to that moment around Ch. 3: Naruto transformed into Sasuke and said he loved her forehead and that he wanted to kiss it.  :chuckle:

Also, the anime likes to downplay anything NaruSaku and exaggerate-to-the-extreme anything remotely involving Hinata (see: Pain fight/any Hinata filers). I'd stick to the manga if you want to find true, unbiased trends.

Hey now although I'm behind by 100 chapters, I think my answer should be good enough since the war arc been draging on...

If you speak of part 1, then yes, Naruto really focused and attended to Sakura although she rejected it except on occasion since she was into Sasuke. In chapter 3, he realized why he'd like her and that only grew as we witness in his battle against Garra and promise in returning Sasuke (although his own heart was breaking).

Now onto part 2, Naruto & Sakura kinda switch positions. Although Sakura view Naruto in part 1 it insignifically magnify in part 2. Naruto backs off a bit and puts his attention onto other things (Sasuke until recently). However if you pay attention you notice a few details about his relation to Sakura differs from the others (including Sasuke).

1. Correct if I'm wrong, but Sakura is the only character that Naruto confess personally of being a Kyubi's jailer.

2. Sai, as socially awkward as he is, notice their relationship and bluntly ask Naruto does he love Sakura which is something he never had to confront until he mention it

3. He has a profound trust and connection with her that he'll shared most personal things with her that he'll do so with others (except Iruka and Shikamaru)
