Trufax... but what're you gonna do? They make these celebs out to be inhuman; we watch and admire them for the good-- following them as an example, using their accomplishments as incentive. Buuuuut how bout when they make a mistake? We suddenly haul ass, running away, cowering in fear covering the younger generations eyes and ears just to make sure to be extra hypocritical when asked of our opinions of the said (in this case, Phelps) icon.
I mean seriously, remember Jessica Simpson? Yeah! Didya know that she's not human? OH NO, course not! I mean, like... before she was skinny... and NOW SHE'S NOT! SHE'S GOT MEAT ON HER WTF. Weight gain isn't common to those under the paparazzi flashes!!! In fact it's IMPOSSIBLE! SHE MUST BE SHUNNED! :O

anyway back to Phelps XD i think he shouldn't have been punished at all. Seriously, he brought back what? 12 gold medals under US's name, works his butt off to do and so and so on and so on-- and then he decides to have a little chat with Mister BongBong and suddenly he's the devil?
REALLY PARENTS? gawsh, just-- when your kids ask if they can smoke some weed like their ~*hero*~ just tell them to win it big at the olympics and you're set. REALLY.
aaaanyway i think it's pretty highlarious how the public opinion is so embarrassingly versatile in response to the media, frrrrrrr srs. XP

Me. I've never smoked or drank before. I don't see why you need to.
Now he's lost millions of dollars because of this. Regardless of if you think it was a "childish" mistake or not.

He done it and he apologized, yet he has to accept the consequences of his actions. Because of that day he used drugs and the picture was captured by the media, his reputation is now ruined.

It may be ruined with Kellogs, but he's still a national hero, and in time most will just look back on this and say, "well, he was still a young adult, and sometimes they do irresponsible things." So, I think that he'll learn from this, grow, and we'll all move on
Especially if he brings home more Olympic gold in 2012, people will be very quick to forget all about this period in his life

Yeah, that's true. They did forget about his car accident back around 2004.

He only earned the world records he set in Sydney. All of his current records are only because of his Laser.
Plus hes an arrogant jerk.
