when it comes to the fanservice aspect I'm not even sure if this is true but a long time can't remember when specifically but on twitter Hiro Mashima said the fanservice aspect mainly arise from his editor.

Really? Would it be wise of him to post something like that?
All I know is that Nanatsu no Taizai and Fairy Tail are both released in the same magazine... Both have some heavy fanservice...

Nice chapter. It's a good point on why Natsu kept that secret for so long. Why not tell them in the first place? I'm not sure if we get any answer but we'll see. We got the intro to the Avatar and got some interesting type of designs. Gray is pretty much consumed by darkness. The last page is interesting take for that character. Didn't think he will be part of it, which is neat. So yeah, seems like the action will roll it in the next chapter. I hope it doesn't go that fast to deal with the problem.

It actually makes a lot of sense for Pantherlily. He was in the military in Edolas. I wouldn't be surprised if Gajeel getting involved that way as well was due to his influence.
But if I'm reading that right.... Gajeel is the one who took Makarov's place on the council?
Also, Gajeel is absolutely the best person to smack some sense into Gray. Natsu has never been on the dark side; he doesn't understand. Gajeel, on the other hand, was in the darkness for a long time, and was saved by Makarov's kindness and Levy's forgiveness. If anyone can understand what Gray has been going through for the last year, it's Gajeel.
Gajeel will also probably strangle him for making Juvia cry, but that's another story.

I actually wonder.... But if anything, it's more likely that he's a higher-ranked foot soldier like Doranbolt and Lahar was. I wonder if Gajeel also spent time training as well. 416 did seem to imply he had the same thoughts as Natsu. Who knows? maybe when the council (or specifically, Doranbolt) approached them, he agreed to join them on one condition: that he would have one of the Wizard Saints to train him aside from doing regular duties.
I could see Jura training him with how their elements have some similarity to each other. Earth is probably the primary element to Iron, so it would be a good match-up.
Another thing: I really am not sure whether Gray's putting up an act or not. Gajeel has a lot of experience in espionage, so he would know more than a few things about infiltrating and putting up a cover. Then if you add in the fact that Doranbolt is (might be) chairman as voted by the current council, then you have a council who's more than capable of running an efficient and effective spy network. I don't know, it's a bit coincidental that FT's top spy is heading there. But then again, Mashima is known for his curveballs....
P.S.: Anybody think Levy joined the council as well? maybe as Gajeel's secretary? Lucy will have a ball with that one.

The family that couldn't be.

It does work well for her. She is smart at that as well as being useful in knowledge and support. Maybe next chapter will show us that. Not sure. You do make an interesting point though. I guess we'll wait and see how he's going to handle this process.I actually wonder.... But if anything, it's more likely that he's a higher-ranked foot soldier like Doranbolt and Lahar was. So I just finished reading the chapter and I got to say I loved it. It was pretty interesting seeing the insight on The Avatar Guild and their members. This is gonna be me, but I find Mary pretty interesting out of all of them aside from Gray. I know this arc technically just started, but I can already see her potentially join Fairy Tail after they take care of all of the mess that takes place. Regarding the spy within the guild I think it's probably "Shaggy" that's my guess. Plus I know people have been going crazy with the Naruto vibes in Fairy Tail for the past 3 chapters, but unlike Sasuke I think Gray going down this path of darkness works. Also he stated that Ultear wasn't dead, what does he mean by that?

I was surprised that he corrected that part like he really needed to do that. Perhaps he was offended of that notion so there's still part of him in there and I think darkness of that power comes in when he explains his desire to get the END and destroy it. I'm sure he's well aware of his surrounding but darkness of that power makes him strongly desire over anything else.So I just finished reading the chapter and I got to say I loved it. It does work because it's the darkness power that really got his mindset shifted. Like I do think he knows his surrounding more or less, but that power is going to make him think otherwise. Sasuke was himself. Gray was still normal after darkness was getting more stronger, but it finally got him controlled. So in due time, we'll see how this plays out.

That's how Fairy Tail is going to be for the next year:
Pairing Feels!
Agnst!
Curveball!
MOAR PAIRING FEELS
MOAR ANGST
BALLS CURVING LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW
Having the group break up was a fantastic plot device to get people in weird situations without having to explain everything step by step.

Nah. I think Natsu should be the one to trash him. There's already a little bit of tension between the two, and it would set up later events really nicely. It actually makes a lot of sense for Pantherlily. He was in the military in Edolas.
