I get that Rin was shocked when she was about to die, I would be too even if I took the attack on purpose. I get that she was shocked, I would be too even if I took the attack on purpose. But she had a "Kakashi, why?" expression, as in why did you betray me. She looked sad.

This expression was made at first to let the readers think " What ? Kakashi killed Rin on purpose ! ". To make things seem like that.

exactly, Kishi did it purposely... The expression of Rin just meant to express pain. He pierced her at her heart after all...

Besides, I want to remember you that Rin wanted just die for the sake of Konoha, but Kakashi refused it. Now do you get why Obito said him "It's because you LET Rin Die" ?

I liked what happened in the chapter, but the way it was executed was done poorly, in my opinion. I felt like it showed how lazy Kishimoto has gotten when it comes to this series, and that made me sad. I wrote about it in my blog:

Sakura looked like crap this chapter. That blast must have given her a lazy eye or something, cause she's looking off in two different directions at the same time. LOL. This chapter really showed just how lazy Kishimoto has gotten with this series:

1) His artwork was awful. Case and point, Sakura's panel.
2) Apparently, the Alliance now consists of 14 people. (Bottom panel: http://www.mangahere...3/c629/10.html)
3) Chouji and Hinata are the only Rookies important enough for screen time.
4) Obito already knew everything that happened to Rin, so Kakashi doesn't have to explain it to him...

It feels like Kishimoto is just going through the motions, or cutting corners, with this story in order to get to the finish line. I couldn't even enjoy the NaruSaku moment because of how badly this chapter was done. It had potential to be a great chapter, but the way Kishimoto executed it was terrible. If he was too lazy to draw the entire Alliance, why not have all of the Rookies jump in front of Naruto instead? That would go hand-in-hand with the, "Rely on your friends", theme that's been going on for the past two years - but no.

Instead, we'll have Chouji point out the obvious for one panel, shrink the Alliance to a group of 14 fodder-nin, have only Hinata and Sakura jump in to help Naruto, (which I actually really liked - but where is everyone else?), and make a bunch of fodder-nin all inspired to help save the day. Cool...

Then to top it all off, he made Obito aware of everything that happened to Rin. Wouldn't it have been more appropriate to have Kakashi explain all of that to Obito? Maybe he did it on purpose, but that's not the turn I wanted him to take with this. I'm getting really tired of unnecessary plot twists. It's just... The laziness of it all is too much for me to handle. I think I might be falling out of love with this series. I haven't been inspired to read it since Obito's flashbacks, and by "inspired", I mean excitedly seeking out the chapter to find out what happens next because I genuinely want to know. At the moment, I'm actually finding Bleach more interesting than Naruto, which is sad...

I might be falling out of love with pairings too. I'm just not as happy as I used to be looking at Naruto and Sakura together, not because I think they would be a bad couple, but because the quality of the series has plummeted. The plot, and particularly the way that Kishimoto is executing the plot, has gotten so bad that the only thing I care about is praying that nothing else will get messed up. Like this week, for example. Yeah, Sakura healing Naruto was nice, but I couldn't enjoy it because Kishimoto botched Sakura's face. And sure, he's finally letting Hinata act as a leader, but she's not even directing characters that are relevant to the story. Just fodder characters... *sigh* I just want Kishimoto to treat this series seriously until the end. Until that happens, I give up on pairings.

I partially agree with you, Slextrem. I am getting a little disappointed in the manga too because it seems like things are happening too quickly, to asspulled, or too forced. It always seems like the bad guys know everything, but the good know nothing. Plot twists are okay, but it feels like every moment is a plot twist waiting to happen. I am starting to feel like the old Batman show with Adam West with every chapter. Some are good, but the rest are just like stalling agents.

Sakura did look like crap, but so did Hinata. She looked like a female version of Mr. Popo. I am not even sure if it was Kishimoto's fault or someone is new on the job. The quality of the panels varies in this chapter and while some look great, others look sub-par. I have been inspired, but not as much as I used to. I do find myself more disappointed lately and I am not sure why. Maybe because it feels like Kishi is skipping around the problems than looking at them directly. I also worried about anti-climatic ending to this manga.

I absolutely hate what Kishimoto is doing with Hinata and Sasuke. Both of these character seem to always take center stage and get these developments out of nowhere. They also seems to shift really easy with one minor moment. It is not even about pairings either, I just can't stand seeing them anymore. I used to be eager to see the Naruto vs Sasuke fight, now I am not even sure if it is worth seeing the fight. I am personally very bored with them.

As for falling out of the pairings: For me, it's not the story that does it, although it help add to the reason, but the fanbase are tiring me out. Everytime Hinata is on the field and makes a face I have to hear how pro-NH it is and how it is one step closer to canon even though all she did was blink. I guess the fanbase themselves tire me out to no end when it comes to this and I am exhausted from all of it. I really wish Kishi would say right now whether NH is canon or not and just get it over with.

At this point, I'm more concerned about the quality of the story, which makes me unable to focus on pairings. I've decided to stop shipping as seriously until Kishimoto stops cutting corners with his chapters. I just can't find the same passion for NaruSaku when the plot is suffering.

yeah i agree ^ i can't focus on pairing if the story telling isn't good anymore. If the quality of the story suffers then pairing suffer to.

Why did you repeat the same sentence twice?

As others have said, Rin's expression was meant to mislead us. In the end her pained expression was more of a "Kakashi, I'm sorry."

You know I'm beginning to think that 450, when Sakura hugged Naruto and Hinata had that "....." bubble, was the moment NH died even if Hinata still liked Naruto.

I just say a chapter in a manga where after the main couple has a sweet moment between them the rival girl also looks at them from a distance with the same "....." bubble. Later on, in that very chapter, she makes a comment about how that guy only has eyes for that other girl, and she even goes to indirectly encourage him to be more brave about his feelings.

To be honest I think that in 450 Hinata realized that Naruto and Sakura were growing pretty close with each other and that it wasn't going to change no matter what. But she figures that she should at least be able to be there for Naruto since otherwise she wouldn't be worthy of inheriting his nindo, ergo 615.

Geez who knew reviving 4 characters could drive so much potental forward. But as it stands, both Naruto and Sakura have a direct connection for associating with Hashirama, Naruto as the jinchurki and parallel, Sakura being Tsunades apprentice.

Yes it opened a lot of potential. Yet I don't know how all things will turn up. If anything I think all of the Hokages will acknowledge Naruto as a successor meaning that if no oposition is found after this arc he will be appointed Hokage. Of course all of this depends on what happens to Tsunade.

Yet somehow there's still a possibility that Sakura will not be that implicated in the storyline even thou so many elements converge on her. God I hope I'm not right with the previous statement. Things are just to much focused on either Naruto or Sasuke for her to be also implicated. Thing is about either Naruto or Sasuke you know what to expect but from Sakura you don't really know where the story will take her. Right now if the juubi or Madara attacks Naruto she can get severely wounded, with the rest of the alliance ( if that is truly whats left of the fighting force).

Right now Kishi still makes space for others characters development or at least for them to be featured, even thou the main players right now are Obito and Kakashi and Madara and Naruto with the Juubi are secondary, so things will seem as asspulls because I don't see the alliance able to organize itself to attack after the kages arrive.

I agree with previous statements we just don't know what exactly will happen in the future.
Which of this will fight/TNJ Madara? Hashirama, Tobirama, Naruto, Sasuke?
Who will fight/TNJ Obito? Naruto, Kakashi, Minato?

There's are so many connections and possibilities and ultimately it will lead to some disappointment in the fandom.

Yeah, right? I bet you if Naruto accidentally sneezes on Hinata they think it is some kind of connection....which is my point. Not everything that Hinata or Sakura does is "pro-," some might be "anti-" or even be no moment at all. Maybe I am just exhauted from trying to explain why such moments don't make such and such pairing canon and why I feel people jump the gun.

Perhaps. It was done in FF8 and it seemed to work fine. Quitis herself even pondered o the idea of her love being mistaken.

I really hope we don't get Fruits Basket thing where Naruto sees Hinata as a mother. I still can't get my head around that logic.

I viewed Hinata as the little sister Naruto had to encourage all the time, so she would not fall behind. Not as close as a sister, but still ^^ I too have a big brother who I admire and look up to. I don't get that vibe anymore because she wants to be equal to him(573) and that she has somehow has become one who protects instead of one who needs to be protected(maybe). I hope that Naruto and that Hyuuga guy doesn't need to be her guardian anymore. Can't remember the Hyuuga's name, but he was with her in Naruto's fight with Pain.

It's possible since she's not trying to push her feelings into Naruto, 615 she could have given a romantic speech one for Naruto saying she was at her side it was on her character on Pain's arc and also on her selfish desire on 579 and the whole thing during the arc, that did surprised me she doing a speech that has nothing to do with romance.

I think Hinata should just stay away from Naruto and Sakura's lovelife. If anyone's gonna push NS, it should be Sai. He knows their connection, and his whole character is about bonds.
