Me: So basically... we're just too Rural for your corporate monopoly?
Company Employee: Yes.
NOTE: the conversation above did not actually occur.. but many of the ISPs around here are kinda implying that statement.

I actually have nothing to say, but I wanted to have post 2002 all to myself. I like pallindromes, you see.
I am not the person to talk to if you like Shikamaru. I am not the author to read if you want to see more Shikamaru. End of Story.
I have fanart... kind of... so there, punks.

That's a little hard to do when you have post 2003. If someone deletes one of their earlier posts though...

This is really random, but I just cleared 500 posts at the same time this thread cleared 2000 posts/100 pages... Sweet!! We should party or something!
I agree, Smiter, we have to do something for Valentine's day! I was going to spend everyone cards, but that would probably take forever... But what can we do? a bake sale? :/

Sori, I put up an idea for Valentine's in the board and site thread.
We've had quite a few numerical celebrations recently, lol. 88 members reached, number of replies in certain threads, birthdays and now Sori's 500th post!

DVD player is here! I'm going to download the latest firmware for it, and hopefully I will have Naruto playing on my TV. It's a Yamada DVX 6700, and it even supports QPEL in DivX (I think ANBU/Aone use it). It's said to be one of the best DivX players you can get, and it's fairly cheap too!
One day, I'm going to use VirtualDub and string together a NaruSaku video with all the canon and anime fillers.
EDIT:
I just spent the last hour watching Naruto episodes. XD
Here's my thoughts on the player and how it deals with fansubs:
Popping in a DVD of Divx files results in the player opening a menu and asking you to choose a file to play. The only niggle I have at this moment is that the file window is quite short (need to see if I can make it longer) so the filenames get cut off a little. They read like:
"Naruto001 - En.."
when it's really "Naruto001 - Enter Uzumaki Naruto"
So, you either need a very good memory, or a list of episode titles on the inside of the DVD case.
The playback is smoother and crisper than on my PC! The colours really stand out and the lines look very sharp (I used RGB scart), and the only time there were any visual glitches was when I was on fastforward - and even those were quite rare.
The ease of reading subtitles really depends on which subbing house you try. I watched both Toriyama's World and ANBU/Aone. Because the videos are on 640x480, you will get a little trimming when watching on a TV, but it's quite slight and only noticeable when you have the karaoke subtitles (the ones that play at the top). They do show in widescreen mode though.
In normal speech/thoughts, the Toriyama subtitles are perfectly placed with only a little trimming when you have a really long single line. The ANBU/Aone subtitles are skirting the bottom edge - anything below the fullstop (such as the tails of the letters p and q) will be cut off, but you can still easily tell what the words are. There's no trimming of long lines because ANBU use double lines for long subtitles.
But all episodes are quite perfectly watchable. There is NO juddering, you can still understand all the lines (only with the loss of the karaoke, which can be fixed if you have a widescreen TV or hit the letterbox mode on your TV), and the audio is perfect!
Upgrading the firmware is very easy, you just need to go to the Yamada website, download the upgrade, burn the file to CD and play the CD in the player! Yamada even tell you how to unlock the region code in the player.

I was waiting for Episode 125 before burning 101 and onwards to DVD... but I so badly want to watch 101 on my TV...

I know! I miss it so much too! I kept skipping to NaruSaku moments and watching them on TV, lol. I put up a small review of the player in my previous post. I really recommend that player!
Congratulations in advance on post 700! I'm sure you'll hit it while I'm on my way to work, hehe.
