I'll just build a bridge to a new destination. Thank you.The bridge to Naruto can still be rebuilt. You just have to convert to NH/SS.

Ah, okay. What I mean is that for me the bridges are burned. I don't care about any token gestures or attempts at pacifying by producing a poster or a piddling AU. Not that I think they will do it, but if they did It might have meant something then, but now...it's meaningless. I don't want them to bother.

I dont need this build neither.
Their tries to make the damaged fandom go bakc to their kitten may be effective with some fans, but not with most of us. Everyone has his own limit of bs that can stand himself.

I wouldn't say meaningless....just very hard.
I mean, they really have to be serious about changing it for the right reasons. Not changing it for the sake of "we don't want to piss people off," but rather changing it because they know it isn't right.
The problem is, the deeper they keep digging this hole, the harder it is to fill it back up and redo.
I would want them to redo it and make it right, but only for the artistic and story integrity and not the lame "please the fans excuse."

Sadly I think the only reason that would compel them to change the ending would be if this new direction turns out to be unsuccesful. It's like what we're seeing with Capcom and Resident Evil. Back in 2012 when RE6 was released it was all about "We want the Call of Duty audience" and now it's all about targeting the "core audience" by remastering REmake and by making a sequel to Resident Evil Revelations.

At least Capcom learned from their mistake. They wanted to gain the attention from the COD fans but it didn't do well with the old school RE fans. They realised the hardcore fans are better than first person shooter fans. In Naruto I doubt they will change anything even if part 3 isn't successful. This is Pierot we're talking about, worshippers of the goddess Hinata. As for Kishimoto maybe in a couple years he might decide to make a NS ending, just maybe.

I mean Toriyama did it...technically, but then again he didn't end Dragonball Z on a sour note like Kishimoto did. A few mangaka have gone back and redid their endings for one reason or another so it is not impossible...just...I am not sure.

Capcom did indeed learn from their mistake and I'm cool with that. I personally loved the first Revelations. It was far from perfect, but it was a good example of what a modern RE game could be, so I'm not really complaining. The point is that their reasons for changing was most likely based on business and not integrity. I don't know. Maybe I'm just too old and too cynical.

It's not impossible, but it would require a massive amount of integrity on Kishi's part and right now, I don't know.

I have to say, I'm glad that Capcom rethought their strategy. I've been into Resident Evil since Resi 2, and although the more action-oriented games weren't necessarily bad, it seemed that the franchise was moving further and further away with each instalment from what made it Resident Evil in the first place.
SP? I don't have a clue as to whether they will alter anything. Kishimoto? Hmm...as you suggest, perhaps in a few years time he could have a change of heart. Time away from Naruto could cause him to reflect on how things went down, and he could indeed decide to change it. It's happened before with other manga ("Shaman King", from what I understand had a revised ending. Plus, I don't know how canon it was, but Rumiko Takahashi produced a special Epilogue chapter for "Inuyasha" some years after the manga concluded. True, it was for charity, but it was an epilogue nonetheless)
What I'm saying is that the idea is indeed possible. However, is it likely? I don't know. Only time will tell, in that respect.

I don't know if I'd even care then. I said before that competency and coherence were my chief concerns. When was the last time this manga consistently embodied either? Many of the endings problems would remain. The pairing was but one of them.

It's not just about the pairings. Even if Kishi changed the ending to NS, it still wouldn't matter much if Naruto is still a neglectful father and Sakura is still reduced to being a housewife.
Then There's also the fact that we never got an answer as to how Naruto would obtain peace or how he became hokage or why they are still maintaining the corrupt shinobi system.
As for competency and coherence, I think the last time was around the Pain arc. After that is when we got the "Child of Prophecy" nonsense which completely undermined the central theme of the manga which was supposed to be about hard work. Then we got the downright boring war arc and the ridiculous Kaguya arc which had "last minute decision" written all over it.
There were also good things, like the introduction of MK and a few moments here and there, but overall this series has been going downhill for years. However up until 699/700 there was at least still a chance that it could have a somewhat coherent ending.
So yeah, fixing the last two chapters isn't going to do much and like you said, most people probably wouldn't even care. It all depends on how long it takes before Kishi finally wakes up, if he ever does.

I suspected that the amount of kitten was big in the film, but i didn't expected it to be this high (i might almost call it legendary). I'm never gonna watch this movie, so i'm glad someone made a very funny summary.
P.S. Kind of disappointed that a lot of people on this forum that vowed to never watch this kitten, actually did.
