Naruto has to win this fight , and not just barely , he has to win at least in the same manner in which Hashirama defeated Madara ( once Hashi entered sage mode , it was over ) . And even though he seemed uncaring of what happened to Sakura , he did give me the impression that this time he is serious about this fight and is not going to back down .

 

I basically want to see the side of Naruto that shows in this chapter . pages 5 through 8

Kishimoto took all of the development Sakura made throughout the manga and just threw it away. Didn't even care or make a blink and is constantly avoiding all the logical reasons why she should be over it by now.

In my opinion it actually does take away from Sakura's development. A lot of us thought she was moving past this part of her 12 year old counterpart. But nope. Being within distance of Sasuke has steadily brought back that low self-esteem 12 year old girl. It started with her realizing he doesn't give a kitten about her this late in the series, and then she's worrying over his opinion of her when he said she's useless. Why kitten on her development this late in the series just to build her back up? Her development doesn't need to be crapped on late in the series, it should be elevated with each passing chapter. But nope. 

 

NS is going to happen without question. But how it's pulled off will obviously be unsatisfying. Her love for Sasuke has been emphasized so much, what's worse is that it's this late in the series and when she finally picks Naruto he'll look like the rebound guy. She loves Sasuke so much that it hurts. How will Naruto ever compete with that? It's too big of a mess in the romance subplot and Kishi can't possibly mop it all up.

 

It's best to leave things open ended.

 

Hmm you know what I think? I think it's wrong to say  that just because this particular part of of her 12 year old self-i.e the one that has the wrong idea of love- still exists, as I don't think it has anything to do with the way Sakura sees herself or anything that's caused by Sasuke, actually.  Basically, unlike part 1, the problem here isn't her insecurity in her skills, which she did develop and this moment shouldn't take that away. She was able and actually stood up to try and contribute something to the war, even if her haters say it was nothing huge. She was actually able to fight along with her teammates for once, and this moment doesn't go against that part of her development.  

 

I don't think it's so much that Sasuke makes her feel insecure here. His words just hurt her because it reiterates this idea of love that she's held even in part 2 and even when it comes to the love that she has for Naruto. Remember the bridge scene? Doesn't that kind of remind you of what happened both in Sakura's first confession and this one as well? That, she believes that she needs to be able to do big things for the person that she loves. I don't think that Sakura has truly learned what Yamato was trying to teach, which we all assumed that she did correct? And I think that the fault here isn't with Kishi but with ourselves (or at least some of us who are quick to react). The wrong assumption that we made was that Kishi planned on having Sakura's development complete at an earlier point, when it has not and probably will not be complete until the end of the manga. 

 

Hmm, well I don't think I'm going to try and convince you otherwise when it comes to NS though. For me, I think we have been mostly looking at only one kind of love when Sakura's character deals with other types as well. Basically, while her love for Sasuke is a big part of her character, it's not the only part that's received focus and, again, I think all of this is our fault and not Kishi's but I'll leave it there as I know you're free to feel whatever way you want about it :).

 

Why must Naruto "compete"? Why must he be considered the "rebound" guy just because Sakura loved some other person before him, something that he's been aware of since...forever??? I really don't like that opinion...I really don't. Because it automatically makes the assumption that the only reason that anyone eventually ends up with someone in this life is because someone that they felt for before didn't return those feelings in the end, or something along those lines. It's not always that case, and I don't think it's that case here because Sakura doesn't have to be with Naruto so quickly after moving on from Sasuke. It shouldn't be wrong for her to resolve the feelings she had for someone first before actively pursuing another.

 

But hey...to each its own =/

To be honest, you guys are really looking at this all wrong. Kishimoto didn't ruined Sakura and her development. He ruined the ENTIRE MANGA STORY in just one chapter regressing everyone and everything to a time back when things were bad. Any pairing at this point would be so hard to believe whether it be NH, NS, or SS. The differences are in how much bull it would take to make it happen with NS being the least to make it bull.

Naruto is also seen a lovesick puppy over Sasuke and he doesn't shut up about it. Everyone else whether it be friend, love, etc is just second to him and always will be. It also makes him a god damn hypocrite and a liar. Didn't he say that the PoaL was no longer valid, now all of sudden it is again? What the hell? I don't even care that it is still active, but the fact that Kishi did a 180 and reversed it just when he said it is not longer about it is mind blowing.
Kakashi has turned into a senile old fool now who has no clue what the hell he is talking about and all the stuff he said earlier makes no sense.
Sasuke is the number 1 guy in this entire manga for little to no reason at all. Really, at this point, why wasn't the manga named Sasuke?
Sasuke is the ONLY one who looks good right now...and that's bad because he is supposed to be bad. He is supposed to be the bad things and his development is the only thing that looks good right now.
Ino looks like a weak tramp right now.
Hinata looks like a weak, selfish, pathetic girl who we know is not going to do anything anymore and is going to be behind the curtain because Naruto only cares about Sasuke when he is on the field
Karin looks just as pathetic as Sakura and Hinata and she has it even worse.
All the pairings? Forget it. Hardly anything will make sense IF this keeps up.
NaruSaku? You would need to make Naruto drop Sasuke, which he will never do, and you need to make Sakura drop Sasuke which Kishimoto is unwilling to do for whatever reason.
SasuSaku? You need to make Sasuke do a MASSIVE heel turn to make this even a possibility. MASSIVE. I mean so massive that it would have to break the laws of physics just even attempting it. Superman flying around the Earth to reverse time makes more sense than this.
NaruHina? Forget it, Naruto needs to make a heel turn and change who he is as a character in order for this one to occur. He needs to drop Sakura, drop Sasuke, and drop being Hokage for it and we know he is not going to do either one of those. And let's face it, if Kishimoto can't even make Sakura give up her love for Sasuke, how can he make Naruto give up his?
So much damage on a massive global scale throughout the story....so much damage in one little chapter....
I will says this. NS still has the highest chance, but it all depends on Kishimoto making that risk to change Sakura who she is. If Kishimoto doesn't have the guts to do it, then forget no pairing will ever be canon because he will never change anyone.
I am not even thinking of NaruSaku right now. I am not even worried about it. I am more worried about the entire story at this point.
This chapter made no sense. Not one bit.

Since this chapter, I find myself agreeing to every single word you're saying. Which is strange because you hate Sasuke and I like him.

But I actually agree with you. Sasuke's existence, or more likely the way Everything is centered around him damaged this manga. He shouldn't have existed for the sole reason that Kishi can't handle the characters and stories surrounding Sasuke properly.

just a random opinion..i lost all my respect for kakashi as a character..after the last chapter its clear to me that his words in 675 were positive for ss..how can he support an abusive toxic relationship, he was the one who saved sakura countless times when she could have been dead by either sasuke's actions or indiference..plus he never gave much importance or attention to sakura to teach her anything worthy..he is a kitten  sensei and he needs either to stfu or join obito and rin..who knows what would  sakura be doing if she wasnt tsunade's student. kishi must be realy tired by his own story...rant over..are the raws out?does anybody know?

I suppose we could talk about Sasuke's newly relished genjutsu skills (he might even be more impressive at illusion casting than Itachi now) and how both characters made it all the way to the border with the Land of Fire from the Lightning Country in a span of a few pages.

I suppose we could talk about Sasuke's newly relished genjutsu skills (he might even be more impressive at illusion casting than Itachi now) and how both characters made it all the way to the border with the Land of Fire from the Lightning Country in a span of a few pages.

I couldn't even tell they were running until the next page showed the final valley. Maybe Naruto & Sasuke have super ninja speed now since Hagoromo gave them their new abilities

Yes. I was curious about this too. Exactly how did this happen? Maybe its just Kishi rushing through the plot. He seems to be doing the rushing a LOT in recent chapters.

I'm not talking about the way it'll end. I'm talking about the fight itself. Kishi has the oppurtunity to make this an epic fight that could outclass any of the other fights in this manga.

 

Sasuke and Naruto have so much power, have so many skills and jutsus that this fight could be hugely entertaining. I hope he doesn't waste all the potential.

But they weren't using their Rikudou abilities. Well, Naruto wasn't using his, at least. Unless it seeped into his basic form, traversing an area of three countries shouldn't have been possible without a constant high speed movement ability like Shunshin.

Yeah, basically. In more ways than one. The only thing I can say is that as of right now things do not look good. Things look really bad for everything. Not just Sakura and NS or others. I don't what Kishi has planning, but right now it better be something really big because he really shot himself in the foot with this one. Nothing makes sense at this point in time. None of it makes sense at all and no matter how it is viewed it all seems bad.

It's really hard right now to believe that things will turn out okay in the manga sense. It really hard to try and see this as being some thing that can work out in the end in a logical way. I know people keep saying that this is a shonen manga and things happen on weird effects, but there is also a limit to how much suspension of belief there really can be before it starts to collapse on itself and ruin the story.

I am willing to wait to see where this goes, but right now I think a lot of people are shaken by this. My faith in NS has not been shaken, but my faith in Kishimoto has. My faith that Kishi could make a great ending to this and be it good writing has been shaken a lot.

-Sakura runs towards it

-Sakura:Wait Dont leave me here alone!!!

-silhouette fades away, leaving Sakura alone..

-Sakura: ... Why? After all this time...??.....

-While crying... she starts hearing creepy voices laughing

ty for the info..ive read a lot on tumblr ,nf,mangafox, a lot of people say present tense is more reliable so im realy down because of this..ns could have a tiny chance at credibility if sakura used past tense ..if sakura realy used present tense then i realy cant see ns happening at the end of the manga..without looking like a complete bullcrap and make naruto a silver medal

He really needs to call him that again , I am sick and tired of Saskue's attitude . People saying Sakura and Naruto need a reality check , but damn if Sasuke doen 't need it the most . His plan for a revolution is utter nonsense , no one will ever back him up ffs .How does he expect to do a revolution with only Orochimaru and team taka on his side  ... ?

 

As for Sakura , I think this was just like Hinata's tripping on a rock . Sadly , not only did she have to be put through this woeful chapter , but in my opinion she will remain unconscious / trapped in genjutsu and we will not see her again until the fight is done . And then in spite of everything , Naruto will confess , she will suddenly realize she loves him too , and that will be that , NS canon . I don't expect Kishi to try and fix any of the mess done with this chapter because I doubt he even realizes what this chapter does to his story .

Beautiful as this would be, I have come to accept that Kishimoto is incapable of such writing.
