The movie's at no. 7 now.
Is that an increase or decrease from its original position?

I believe it's a decrease. The film is presumably being listed on a top 10 favourites so the closer it is to 1, the more successful it would be.

I'm surprised that there's no news about the movie's collection surpassing Rtn's. It was at 1.29 billion yen after 2 weekends and Rtn's total collection was 1.48 billion.
I think even if the movie does worse than expected in the west I think SP will still probably say that how it was a major success. I don't think we'll ever get to know even if the movie hurts SP.
The Last has yet to surpass RtN. Although supposedly RtN earned roughly $18,000,000 in profit overall while The Last has only $10,000,000.

That's what I'm saying. Even if the movie does not do as good as Rtn will we ever get the facts? SP would still advertise it as the 'Epic Conclusion' to the series which had major success for DVD sales and selling of the satellite rights. If they can go as far having multiple fake reviews being posted on a review site just to inflate the ratings weeks after its release then this doesn't seem impossible for them.

It may do good in west as long as fans do not prefer pirated versionsTHE LAST -NARUTO THE MOVIE-
- 396,280 viewers (266 screens) / 515,331,800
Yen (4,312,811 USD)
- 60% men & 40% women; 36.2% in their late
teens & 23.4% in their twenties
- 39.3% went because it's the last movie
That's from the first week.

No, it made 1.48 billion yen which equals 1.24 million dollars. And that nember from The Last's profits were from two weeks ago.

So in other words, The Last is becoming the largest financially successful film in Naruto. Great! You seem to be relishing in the acknowledgement of being the bearer of bad news.

Apparently...the question is. Does it matter? None of those movies were that good anyways.

Isn't the Japanese yen worth less than the American dollar? If you convert the billion yen or whatever the Last made into dollars it probably won't be that much.
Converted into USD, that total comes out to about 12 million. RtN's box office amount was 18 million the last time I heard. It won't be too difficult for Pierrot to equal that amount by relying on foreign markets to net them an additional 6 million.

Well 12 Million still ain't jacksh*t compared to what the HP films made. You would think Kishimoto would be the Japanese equivalent of billionaire JK Rowling with all the money he's made but the guy still wants more. Naruto isn't actually that good.
I don't believe Naruto has the same momentum behind it as the Harry Potter series does. Still, I did read that Kishi is like in the top 3 or 1% bracket of income earners in Japan.
The Last garnering more revenue is my concern at the moment though. These international releases are not a coincedence, obviously.

At least, Harry did not treat his son like kitten and did not have to go trhough the station alone.

But he had an equal kitten name.

May I be so bold as to say I'd think Twilight is better and I never watched a single one. At least the love story had development.
