[NaruSaku fan in Kentucky]

Just because a movie is successful doesn't mean it's good. Doesn't this movie mostly get negative reception?

Like Michael Bay's Transformers. The movies made money but his movies are crap.

Artistically from an animation standpoint, sure the movie is great... but you don't go to a movie to see animation unless it's a silent film, you go to a movie because you wanna see a well told story or action. From most of the summaries told, neither are provided

I like Transformers, the first one is the best, the second and third we're good but can't out best the first one. Haven't seen the fourth one yet though.

LOL somebody changed The Last's box office collection from 1.29 billion yen (10.7 million$) to 10 billion yen(82.9 million$) on wikipedia. In like 2 weeks how can a film earn this much and that too 3 weeks after its release. Couldn't they at least come up with a more reasonable figure?

It's full of shiny screentones like in a shoujo manga. It won't surprised me anymore if there would be flowers everywhere.

I have no idea why non-Naruto readers would go see the final Naruto movie... but I suppose that's possibly. Those are probably the only people spared of not having to cope with the ending, because they probably just assume Naruto was suppose to end up with Hinata.

Honestly, these pics of Naruhina in the movie are laughable...

 

Its like crazy otakus were writing this kitten. Its so contrived and ridiculous that I have not seen such an obvious love story since cliche love stories. Its so not subtle its hilarious.

 

 

If I wanted to make NH canon I would have made a story about Hinata overcoming her own self esteem and clan issues with Naruto encouraging and understanding her. That would have made more sense.

They changed it back to 1.29 billion yen. I don't think think this movie will even come close to 2 billion yen as was predicted. Maybe 1.75 billion yen at the most? Still more than Rtn but it not by much.I hope this happens anyway.

Actually, when you factor the disparity in production value between RtN and The Last, their overall net profit may come out to about even.

Assuming that the production value for The Last is twice as that of Rtn and that The Last somehow manages to earn more than 2 billion yen even then the profit percent for Rtn remains greater doesn't it? Because the disparity between the box-office collections remains at about 500 million yen.
Even if the net profit comes out to be the same it would remain less than what SP was hoping for.The quality of the animation, the extensive promotion makes me believe that they had really high expectations of this movie.
But then the problem is that the DVD sales and the market in the west and the merchandise compensates for this.Which I think SP was hoping for.And if the net profit for this film is greater just in Japan and the market in the west further helps then idk. But then the costs for dubbing and more international screens would have to be added( because its going to be released in countries Rtn wasn't) so that further increases the budget.
Anyways we'll see.
