Toriyama himself stated in an interview that he don't know romance and is not interested in it.
and what does that tell you about how poorly Kishi is at doing it despite the fact that he loves romance

So why the kitten is The Last almost entirely linked online? With every other Naruto movie its all like "you have to wait an entire year then we'll sub it" now its just like "you have to wait an enti- oh wait Hinata Chama is in the movie I'll sub and release this hsit in less than two months!!"
may be the movie isn't well in Japan so they are milking the West

¥1.49 billion ($12.8 million), The Last: Naruto the Movie (Toho) Week 4
http://forums.boxoff...60#entry1826679
Unfortunately The Last earned in a month what it took RTN 2 months, so it's doing pretty well financially without the west.

Kishimoto concluded his story in the complete opposite way that Mr Plinkett would have told him to.

the budget has to be considered
& really, just look at its rating!

Are there any links or sources to clarify what the production value for this movie was?

Well obviously it was higher than RtN
But like I said in the other thread, nobody can say whether this movie made them money or not

Okay, but that doesn't answer the question of how much budget Pierrot used to produce "The Last" specifically.

it will be quite a kick to the balls of the studio if it doesn't havd RtN's profit..

Imdb gives this - $120,000,000 (estimated) Budget. http://m.imdb.com/title/tt3717532/ But again this is an estimated figure. Nobody seems to know for sure though.
That's not accurate. It would be absolutely impossible for the film to accrue an amount equivalent to a budget that high even if The Last were to somehow earn more than all of the previous Naruto films combined. Pierrot's net losses would be so astronomically large that they might even have to declare bankruptcy if that were true.
Edit: I believe a more accurate estimate for the film's budget would be something like 150-200% of what RtN's was, considering the increased production time and animation/artwork quality.
