I assure you I can ignore it very easily. laugh.gif

Now, seriously. I ignored it -or I should tell disregarded- utterly before meeting fandom. I never, ever, thought NH was an issue. I guessed Hinata had a crush on Naruto... and that was it.

NH never merited one thought of mine when I was reading Part I cause the seldom appearances of Hinata, the absolute lack of interaction between them, the complete absence of scenes hinting Naruto could be falling in love with Hinata... On the other hand, I read scenes where it was clear Naruto was still in love with Sakura, and where it was clear Sakura was developing growing feelings towards Naruto whereas her relationship with Sasuke was going to nowhere... right like I thought it'd do when I read the first chapters.

I never imagined there was people seriously thought NH was the official couple, let alone a sizeable chunk of the fandom.

oh, that's fine ^^

anyways, I saw comments in facebook in narusaku club, and someone who is pro nh said that:
"I read it (MK interview, but she'he didn't say the year...) bfore the chapter 437 began..
Kishi said on his interview like this,"hinata would get her chance..and i'd love seeing this pairing be together in the end"

what should i say to him/her? is that true? i mean, the way kishi said and the interview...
coz i think it's kinda...fake...

The interview that the NH fans are always bringing up was basically just something like:

"I hope Hinata gets her chance"
Kishi: "I hope so too"

the first part is somewhat true, but the last part of what that person said is bogus. Tell him/her to either check the source before believing it, or not to make stuff up if there's proof that they're wrong.

dry.gif You know how NH fans like to make things up... Especially something as bogus as that.

Tell her to prove it, and give you the link. If she says something like, "I forgot" then you know it's fake. Their (NH) statements are always questionable, especially when they make up MK interviews.

Besides, why would Kishi say something like that to spoil the plot? I mean, that's huge. And why would he say "i'd love seeing this pairing be together in the end"? when he is the mangaka? It's up to him, and he doesn't have to wish to see it, he can do whatever the hell he wants.

So I call shenanigans on that. fu.png

I saw a comment that there seems to be a fair overlap with NaruHina and SasuSaku shippers. I'm wondering if that has to do with how much importance the reader puts on "confessions". I could see how someone, if they considered this true love, would latch onto Hina and Sakura making confessions.

For me, while it could be interpreted that way, I don't think these confessions are that meaningful. Hinata's "love" always struck me as being the fan of a rock star or sports figure. When girls shriek about how much they love the latest Hollywood teen heartthrob, while their feelings may be intense, I don't see it as a true love confession.

For Sakura, while she obviously had intense feelings, I think the confession needs to be viewed with the entire conversation. Sakura figured out that Sasuke was going to Orochimaru. So to stop him, she tried to:
1) appeal to his Team 7 camaraderie
2) appeal to reason ("Even if you get revenge though, it won't bring anyone happiness")
3) appeal to his emotions (loneliness)
4) offer to make him happy if he stayed
5) offer to go with him if he left Kohona
6) make him back down by threatening to scream

People have made a big deal about (5), but I don't see it as a betrayal of Kohona. Sasuke may have been willing to turn himself over to Oro, but at that time he wouldn't have left any of his friends around that creep. Sakura was smart enough to figure this out. If she couldn't stop Sasuke from leaving, if she was by his side, there was no way that he would go to Oro.

That's one element that I like about NaruSaku. It is affection during quiet moments, and being supportive to cheer up someone when they are down. It isn't a suicide statement (Hinata) or a desperation move to stop someone (Sakura-Sasuke).

I think chapter 450 is very clear about it. When Naruto returns, she not even tries approaching him (apparently she had reverted to her former self). And when Sakura hugged him, she was smiling, and her smile reached her eyes. If she was sad, that feeling was hidden.

And if you realize, her face was next to Lee's one. Lee also confessed his undying love to his crush and nearly got killed trying protecting her, and also was beaming at Naruto and Sakura hugging.

Therefore, Hinata won't get kitteny. She'll be happy for them.

I suppose that's a possible interpretation, but I tend to think she was grieful and despaired and wasn't thinking straight when she said that. After all, in the next instant she's menacing with shouting in order to keep him in the village. And the next day, she didn't request going along the rescue team or she stealthily followed them in order to find him. She asked Naruto bring him back in the village (although a lot of people forgets she did NOT force the promise out of him. Naruto promised her out of his free will).

Hence, I doubt she would have left the village with Sasuke. Or made that offer if she would have been thinking rationally.

I may not have been clear on what I was saying. The SasuSaku shippers seem to bring up this scene a lot, as they see it as a love confession. My interpretation was that it was meant to keep Sasuke from going to Oro, so is not much more romantic than her next action (threatening to scream to the guards). That if she left Kohona with Sasuke, she would be acting like a wet blanket ("we should go back... we should go back...") rather than celebrating a romantic getaway.

Again, this is consistent with the idea that the primary goal in her mind was to stop S from going to O. She didn't have enough power then, so she begged Naruto to stop Sasuke. If she was truly love-sick, I would think it more likely that Sakura would try to follow the rescue team, rather than meekly accept Shikamaru's decision that she stay behind.

woot.gif Oh, snap! I like that! laugh.gif

And it's totally true. Like recently, I don't know if you guys remember, but Naruto and Sakura were sitting around, and Naruto was talking about Tsunade. Sakura comforted him, saying something like "she's strong" or whatever, but inside she said "I'm the one who needs comforting... Naruto."

Dunno. Just thought that was really sweet that she knows she relies on him for comfort. It's the little moments that really count between them -Which I believe is something heronite stated - not the huge "omg" moments that the NH and SS fans are so proud of. NaruSaku is gradual.

yeah... but I don't understan why Naruto wasn't conforting her, I mean... she was right, Tsunade is he sensei not Naruto's.... I think that Sakura is closer to Tsunade than Naruto cause she spent two and a half years training under her. So, call me crazy, but in that part, I think Naruto was acting a bit selfish.

People are entitled to be a little selfish sometimes, but that's besides the point. Sakura was trying to maintain a strong air, so Naruto couldn't' tell that she needed comforting too. Also, Sakura isn't necessarily closer to Tsunade, I mean they are, but Naruto and her have like a grandchild-parent relationship, so it's debate-able on who is closer. Naruto's really close to Tsunade, and so is Sakura, they both needed comforting, only it's Naruto that let it show more.
If that's what it means to be wise... I'd be happier living as a Fool!

this is just my thought on that scene, but I think the reason Naruto was so down was likely because he had questions for Tsunade. He states this, and it likely had to do with the 4th Hokage confronting him previously, so that's my opinion behind why Naruto wasn't comforting Sakura. Both of them were close, no doubt, but Sakura is probably closer. The difference in their relationships is that it was a strict Student/Teacher relationship between Tsunade and Sakura, where as Naruto and Tsunade had a more familial bond (similar to Jiraiya and Naruto's bond).

Selfish? Look, I know it's unlike him, but Naruto is anything but selfish. He could have told Sakura long ago that he loved her, but chose not to, because she supposedly loves Sasuke. And, on top of that, he made an impossible promise, put his life on the line several times, didn't hold a grudge against the village that hated him. And you're saying he's selfish because he didn't go "There, there, Sakura, it'll be okay" and pat her on the back?
Sorry, ceci, but Naruto is not selfish.
