This is not looking good guys... Kishi may have chosen to make the majority of the fan happy (NH and SS) despite ruining the love story in his manga 

 

...Have you never seen a teaser trailer with simply voiceovers? It's called editing bro. Those two sentences are likely not even in the same scene or hell even sequence. 

 

What you're doing is falling for the editing that that SP set up.

I'm not giving up, i'm just disappointed so far. This feels like reading a bad fanfiction. A really bad one.

Me and Serenity Namikaze agree with you, lady GT. This all feels like Naruto turned from a Shonen manga similar to Dragonball Z to a really bad Shojo fanfiction.

But gift-giving, especially to your romantic interest, is symbolic in Japan. It's not to be taken lightly, it seems. 

 

I still think it's possible that Hinata will want Sakura to give Naruto the scarf as a gift, since she'll want for them to be happy together. The scarf is important, but do we know the context in which it is given and by whom? Nope! 

 

 

 

 

That would be swell. It gives us NS... and allows Hinata to be classy.

 

She's that kind of girl, though. If she was happy to see them together after the fight against Pain, why not now?

OK, how about this (in accordance with ElleluvsL's theory)

 

Naruto and Sakura are dating in The Last. At the start of the film, Sakura goes shopping for presents and runs into Hinata. The two catch up. We get a flashback of Hinata watching young Naruto (he had a red scarf). Since she has always wanted to knit him a scarf, she asks Sakura if it's okay if she gives the scarf to Naruto. Sakura, not at all threatened since Naruto worships the ground she walks on, is very friendly about. The scarf that once symbolised her love for Naruto becomes a means of closure for Hinata. Later that night  Ōtsutsuki Toneri attempts to kidnap Hinata. Naruto senses something off and goes to Hinata's rescue just in time to fend Toneri off. As a meteor comes crashing towards Konoha, Toneri kidnaps Hanabi and escapes. That's when the movie really begins as Kakashi tasks Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru, Sai and Hinata with tracking down Toneri and rescuing Hanabi.

 

Follow up:

 

Throughout the rest of the movie, the NH are mostly one-sided through flashbacks of Hinata's youth and her own thoughts. As the posters would indicate, Hinata harbours a lot of self-loathing for being too "weak" to have won Naruto over. Cue a number of scenes with that sad sounding NaruHina song which is described to be about friendship and bonds. At some point in the movie Naruto's blue scarf is destroyed. Naruto and Hinata have a heartfelt talk. Naruto tells Hinata she's great. She gives him the scarf. Cue the song again. Hinata moves on. The end.

I think that would be the strangest part. Kishimoto has never changed feelings off screen. To have Naruto hold on to Sakura this long without deviation at all and then suddenly shift after the manga's conclusion seems very unlike him.

precisely what I think about it. If he does it then it'll be obvious he's simply catering to his NH fans.

We have so little on every character. All the information is all about Hinata. All of it, so far, is nothing, but Hinata this and Hinata that. Hinata and Naruto on this, but it doesn;t describe Naruto's role. It doesn't describe Naruto's feelings....nothing.

Every character, including Naruto the main character, has been shafted for Hinata.

Some complain about Sakura getting pushed aside. Now even Sakura and Sasuke, the two most important characters in this series, have been pushed aside for Hinata Hyuga. Even her sister has been pushed aside and she is apart of the main plot.

Call me crazy, but I'm still 100% confident. The lack of Sakura's presence combined with the initial trailer indicating Naruto would have some kind of reaction to her new looks, and the fact that the song for which the cover was made is melancholic and about friendship and bonds - all of this makes believe that NaruSaku is already canon and/or Hinata will find closure, and the red scarf is merely a means of her expressing that.

Don't you guys think that the info. about Sakura being withheld is a good thing, though, that they'll want to surprise us with what actually happens and her potential role in this love story?

 

By the way, I'm becoming increasingly convinced that as a part of some potential character development, Hinata will ask Sakura to present Naruto with the scarf and will cheer for them to be together. We have the precedence in the Pain arc.
