So she lives it up as long as she can. If I was in deathly danger, I would do a lot more with a guy I liked than just hold his hand.
Edit. or is it "deadly" danger? Is there a difference?
Lives it up as long as she can? Sorry, ain't buying it. It's like in 573. She's running towards the enemy and all she can think about is holding the mans hand. I can't take her character seriously because her love is pretty much the driving force of her character.
And what do you mean "deadly danger"?

Because you are an eternal optimist, always ready to educate the uneducated?
Seriously. I did get your point. I'm sure most of us did. I just couldn't resist the joke.

Still, that kiss is history

Didn't I just show that she was thinking other things than Naruto's very manly hands? Her love really is the driving force of her character and I can see why that might bother some people. It helps, for me, that she is a side character. That is why I'm personally willing to tolerate her character centering around a man.
I mean that if I was in danger of dying, I might really want to hold my crush's hand, too, when I still had the chance. Hinata has never been able to hold Naruto's hand before. Of course she is happy that it finally happens. She might die very soon, so she might as well enjoy everything when she still can.

I think you mean to say: that kiss will go down in history.

I agree with this guy because what's annoying on Hinata is the fact that Naruto is everything for her, just look at Naruto he loves Sakura but he does not force, his not a fanboy around her, he loves her genuinely.
ANd srsly she had much more things to do, she could take Naruto's example and try to surpass Neji, she didnt, she says "that's my ninja way too" but what she did that can recall Naruto's ninja way?
She didnt become stronger than Neji, she didnt matured and take the leadership of her clan.
She was touched by Naruto's ninja way but srsly...

I'll admit, Hinata copying Naruto's nindo really bothers me. I mean...sure, never giving up is a nice nindo, but geez. At least word it differently or SOMETHING.
It's one of the first things I noticed when I began to realize that Hinata's sole, one and ONLY reason for LIVING is Naruto.

But this is the problem she didnt follow Naruto's nindo to it's best.
She just became fanservice nothing else more.

Yet she had to make a comment on Naruto's hand. That was absolutely unnecessary. The death of Neji should pretty much outweigh all romantic thoughts at this time. It's like she has permission to think about romance after she gives a pep talk. I find that reasoning inexcusable. Save that lovely dovey crap for after the war is over. Must I repeat to you that this is a war? Her cousin just died right in her face. She should be more focused on surviving and being of good use to Naruto.

For some reason kishi is delaying a Naruto/Sakura interaction.

All of her appearances have been heavily pairing-related, and that's not something I would categorize as character transformation.

Because she didnt need any more cheer-up and confidence boosts from Naruto.

I agree with this. Being inspired enough by him to follow his nindo didn't bother me. In fact, I felt indifferent about Hinata until Shippuden started. What bothered me then was that, despite saying she was going to make all of these changes for herself and get stronger, the first thing she does in Shippuden is faint. Add that she's never actually won a fight and she loses focus during her missions because of her worry for Naruto... (i.e. Tracking Itachi arc) <---- [I believe this was the only mission arc that Hinata was included in, but I could be wrong.]
Well, I didn't like that too much. So much for never going back on one's words. It's nice to see her stepping up now, but I would have preferred it if she had started acting like this years agi. Seeing some changes in her attitude directly after the time skip would have been nice. But alas, there were none, and now I really don't care for her.

I just don't see the big deal. She was all warm and fuzzy because her crush was finally holding her hand, like she has wished. She did much more than just that, though, she was being helpful and inspiring. It's not like she took the day off in the middle of serious trouble to go shopping for her wedding dress.

Hinata: My cousin died? I'm in war? Our HQ was just destroyed? The strongest man alive(who took out our 5 leaders) and his trusty insane sidekick are currently killing all of us with their insanely power beast who hasn't even reached his peak of power yet? Who cares?! Naruto held my hand! Aiiiiii!!!

Seriously though, don't you think you guys are being a little hard on Hinata?

Exactly! Her internal fangirling does nothing for her character, in fact it makes her appear shallow. Your in the middle of a war and your cousin died to protect you because he realized your pattern of obsession turned suicidal 200 chapters ago. Honestly this pattern of hers is demeaning to women ....don't get me wrong Sakuras character isn't faring much better she needs to step up and show us she's apprentice to the hokage!
It seems to me that Hinata's character is about where Sakuras character was when she openly ogled Sasuke in the beginning of the series. Remember, Sakura was very shy and Ino helped her gain confidence only then did she openly go after Sasuke.
She then turns to herself to develop true strength, to not be a burden but to help her teammates with theirs. We can only hope Sakura has realized the superficiality of her "love" and has matured enough to realize the true meaning of the word.
I don't think Hinata really knows herself yet, so it makes me angry to think she would throw herself AND her role as eventual family head away because of her Naruto infatuation. She could have been so much more but now she's simply canon fodder.

True.
Not only she has stolen Naruto's ninja way, but she also claims to be 'always going ahead and not going back on one's words', while actually there isn't any proof she keeps to these words. On the other hand, look, she said she would hold Naruto's hand and she IS holding his hand, that's because she's not going back on her words according to
