Ok, a few things I wanna hear everyones thoughts are:
How long do you think Kishi was planning NH (honestly, ignoring his previous interview)?
What do you think SP was thinking was going to happen? Do you think they expected this?
How do you think SP/Kishi are reacting right now?
Do you think the movie will flop? (the merchandise certainly will ;) )
Do you think Kishi purposely sabotaged this series w/ the last chapters, interviews and movie because he didn't get to do the ending he wanted?
Do you think the anime will have to have a different ending due to the backlash (since they want to continue it beyond the manga)?
Let's take each point and I'll give you my honest opinion
1. It's a last call. That is if that was even what he want. I believe he either sell out or was forced to do so. (CPR SCENE AND HINATA TRIP, In my head, it's still NS in his head there)
2. That one need clarification. By this you mean what. The movie contradict everything that was in the manga. (when a girl love you that long, she must have her reason, if you give up on the girl, you should give up on being hokage. You said you love me to rival Sasuke) Why can it work with a boy? He give up on Sakura so give up on the Hokage seat then. Don't put those line in the movie, it destroy even more the character. Some might pass through it, thinking, okay, feeling migh have change and those doesn't count when it come to his never give up attitude. but those 3 line KILL THE MAIN CHARACTER.
So they expect to make money out of NH fan and Naruto fan that couldn't believe the movie would be a bad shojo and expected to see Sasuke and Kakashi. Sakura heal Naruto 3 days straight up to exhaustion and what did he do, talk about Hinata WTF. They don't expected to lose money somehow.
3.If kishi is in SP team, they might begin to shake because I cannot believe they don't know about internet. Most people seem either disgusted or dissapointed because he turned into a bad shojo. It's explain NH story. THe last Naruto movie is about NH love story (that is completely made in the movie, never hinted in the manga) In the end, Hinata become like Sakura, meaning some of those Hinata fan are like no, we don't want that. So yeah, they might be a little scare. We won't know for at least 2-3 weeks, we need the number. If Kishi try to sabotage the movie ( all those interview might have been to sabotage it because he might have been forced into this, then he either laugh or hope it flop)
4. Probably. All 95% of the promotion were about Hinata the great. all the last spoiler hint toward a bad romance story( HINATA STILL BEING A STALKER) The way people react, the mouth to ear might decreased the sale, since it is disappointing. The real question is how much they expected and how deep it will sunk
5. It'S either that or he is stupid. If he really said he put all those parallel to mislead the reader, it's like insulting them to me. All those interview seems contradictory, so it's either that or he is really really dumb to promote this bull
6. Depend on how bad this movie flop. The ending was controversial. The movie sell will be a good indicator of how much the people care about an explanation for the ending. If it was a good decision or THE WORST DECISION THEY EVER MADE.
In other word, don't hope for a flop. HOpe that they sunk so bad it make history
