Considering how long it took to get to Doflamingo, the battle itself was anti-climatic, So far the boss battles post Time-skip have all been like that. I'm hoping the future arcs will be better. This entire arc was too crowded, honestly had no idea what was happening half the time, the battles were all M'eh. and seriously where are Nami, Chopper and Brook.

 

Edit: BTW has it been revealed was the surpise announcement was this week? Was it the movie like predicted?

I thought the end was handled well, though seems like a conclusive one is the next chapter. No, he is down and out but I just mean like a impact end, like right after Enel lost, we get an overall end of the fight. Think as ending of a fight extended edition. In this case, it seems left to the next chapter to do so.

I do agree that this arc was pretty crowded as in so many characters in this arc that I have a hard time remembering and yes, it can be confusing. Nevertheless, it's almost over battle wise (aftermath of a battle) and the arc itself. The fights were different but decent, though it was like rebound after rebound. The challenge is the arc was too long. However, I do believe in Oda to give us the satisfying ending as he always does rather than say "We did it! Let's go home. Fin." Like some series we know of, which is funny because both of them legitimately does that.

So, I'm glad it's over and honestly, have it been done in anime with really good production, this could have turn out great. Sadly as I have heard reports, they dragged greatly. Shame because in quite honestly, I can see myself liking the whole 5 minutes segments a lot if done right in the anime. The atmosphere, the mood, and so on. But oh well. It's almost time to see the new arc unfolds.

Unfortunately, with the OP anime, since Toei knows that ratings for each episode will always be good/great....they don't put much effort into the adaptation like they did between e.g. Thriller Bark to MarinFord. So, the episodes are usually really mediocre (with a few hype moments here and there). 

 

The earnings that Toei recieves from OP seems to be spent on the Merchandising or to boost other series .....(at least that's my assumption)

 

I kinda wish OP did fillers again....at least they're not as bad as Naruto Fillers

If this is all he's got he stands absolutely no chance against the emperors. I still feel like the Straw Hats are going to go through one more huge advancement in strength. The Blackbeard, Red-Haired, and Straw Hat crews all are designed similar. They all have 1 doctor, 1 cook, 1 sniper, etc. In the end I don't see the Straw Hats being as strong as Red-Haired's group unless they all got haki and get at least a little stronger. I know Sanji, Zoro, Luffy, and Usopp have Haki, but what about the rest? What could Chopper and Nami do to a Red-Haired member?

So everyone remember how Whitebeard was allies with many infamous pirates? Well, right when everyone was getting turned into dolls I said "so this is how Luffy starts making all of his". It's pretty obvious. In the end, the Straw Hats will go to war with an army of thousands, and that's when having all these allies will play a role. I don't think it'll be the marines because I don't think admirals stand any chance against emperors. I already think Luffy is stronger than Akainu.

 

Which brings me to my next topic of discussion. Since Luffy is stronger than Doflamingo, what will the next arc be about? Emperors right? Only enemy characters stronger than Doflamingo that I see Luffy going after right now would be Big Mom and Kaido. Maybe we get insight on the Revolutionary Army? Even if we do, it won't be anywhere long enough to be an entire arc. Wait a second... isn't Big Mom's ship at Dressrosa right now?

agreed. as impressive as luffy has been, i don't believe he can last more than 10 seconds against an emperor. and i kinda don't want the straw hats to be as strong as the red haired pirates because of my man crush on shanks and that i think their crew is cooler than luffy's lol. i'd be a crime if we don't see robin's display of haki considering who she was with  during the time skip.

Yes. It's not like Akainu got any stronger from aging 53 to 55 in that Fleet Admiral seat during the time skip. I've said before that Ace's 550 million bounty was mostly from being a Whitebeard crew member, and to make him appeal to the fans more. Even Ace gave him some trouble. I'm sure Akainu is very strong, but if Luffy can beat an awakened devil fruit designed to be sharp, then he can take on the man that killed his brother. Threads are faster and sharper than lava, and sharpness is Luffy's weakness. What is lava going to do to rubber covered by armament haki? In gear fourth, Luffy would send that guy flying. If Luffy fights Akainu, we'll see Akainu using someone Luffy cares about to harm him. Like he did with Squard when he tricked him into stabbing Whitebeard. That's the only way he could keep up.

I'm sure the other 3 emperors were stronger than him at that point, but no one wanted to test that theory just in case his age hadn't of caught up to him. Only people that could know for certain if their old man wasn't the strongest anymore would be his top rank crew members like Ace and Marco.

WB never turned his back from akainu, those were clean and deadly attacks he received from him. so akainu didn't need squardo's sneak attack to have a chance at severely injuring WB. also, WB was the one who snuck up on akainu to get a clean hit on him after witnessing ace's death, and akainu took the full brunt of that hit and survived. op characters are insanely durable. WB getting stab was bad, but it wasn't as sever as getting his face blown off and his insides melted. also, akainu was able to withstand momentarily a blood lusted WB after witnessing ace's death, and guess what? that was when he burned half his face off.

He didn't lose the title because only his best crew members could know he lost his strength. We've seen many marines and pirates 60+ years old not lose a step, so it isn't like people would know to take away the title from him. And he was hacking blood out while coughing with his eyes closed, and then he got shot through the stomach. When Ace died, he once again was attacked by Akainu because he was distracted.

Law already said Kaido will probably turn his anger at him and the Straw Hats. That's 3 emperors mad at Luffy. If the 4th wasn't Shanks, knowing Luffy it would be all 4 by now. Luffy has to hurry up and fight that war against Big Mom right now before they gang up on him. I'm sure Sabo's message to Burgess will keep Blackbeard away from Luffy for the time being. Big Mom is the weakest of the 4 and he already called out a war against her, so that's where are plot is probably going to next. Luffy vs an emperor.
