It's mostly in the West, though, if I'm not mistaken. The primary audience- the Japanese- seems to favor NS.

But it's just in the promotional material. Have we actually seen it in the footage or screenshots of the film thus far?
He's wearing it in the main poster and another huge poster... Also very clear on the website. The scarf has been made important for awhile now. We see Hinata falling with it in the movie but no shots of him wearing it yet in there. I guess we can wait for full trailer.
Whatever we have a week to go and when NS is canon in the manga this movie will look silly.

I really cannot see Hinata getting rejected in the movie...I mean, Naruto is proudly wearing that scarf made by Hinata that he will reject?

I made a thread and it got locked (I didn't use my common sense to just join this one)
I don't think the movie will be bad.
I genuinely think the movie will be about Hinata's resolved feelings/Naruto's love for Sakura.
The movie is about love.
Hinata loves Naruto
Naruto loves Sakura
Hanabi getting kidnapped? Just something convenient in order for Naruto to be with Hinata & help her resolve things.

Yes, I did. I don't know what I was thinking. Anyway, my co-workers already stole my man card over Lord of the Rings, so you can't take that away anymore.

I guess you don't know Naruto. He was proudly telling his father that Sakura, who he rejected, is his girlfriend.

Holy crap! What if Hinata realizes that Sakura has come to love Naruto and gives her the scarf to offer to him as a gift- you know, as their friend who wants to see the both of them happy together? She did smile for their hug, after the fight against Pain, so she wouldn't be entirely against their relationship. It could very well be a development point for her, in that she'll have finally moved on, but she's glad to have them in her life!

Maybe it's a Christmas gift. Friends still give each other Christmas gift platonically or romantically.

I think that would be the strangest part. Kishimoto has never changed feelings off screen. To have Naruto hold on to Sakura this long without deviation at all and then suddenly shift after the manga's conclusion seems very unlike him.

The scarf is a friendship gift.
"Yes, we may not be together, but here is a gift symbolizing our lovely friendship" type of thing.
My friend gave me a scarf for Christmas that she knitted herself, for example. It was a great gift and we're just friends.

not necessarily. It sort of gives me hope given not too much has been said about her. So far she's a mysterious. At least it isn't confirmed that she's not interested in Naruto and she's pushing Hinata toward him. If that's the case I'm gonna puke. Lmao
All we know is she's next to Naruto on the magazine showing all the characters. If she was pushed back she would be next to Kakashi or Sai but she's not. She's next to Naruto. I think they're just keeping what's going on with her a secret. If they show that Sakura reciprocates Naruto's feelings then that's game over for them. So they have to keep her a secret as much as possible.

That would be swell. It gives us NS... and allows Hinata to be classy.

Thank you. gifts don't always have to be romantic.
