Who else is expecting Sakura to still be in love with Sasuke after having Nardo's kid?
Loool. Pregnant married Sakura: Sasuke-kun! If there's even a teensy teeeeeeeeeeensy bit of me in your heart...

About 675, different doesn't only have one meaning. Since she used daisuki and even had Kakashi say she loves him romantically, then yes, Kishi wants you to take that as a crush that went to 'love'. Not a crush that went away. Look at how the love is portrayed, though. It's negative and painful. It's not a positive chapter for Sakura's feelings for Sasuke, but it is romantic at this point.

The reason why I'm kinda freaking out about this a bit now is that...if almost killing her didn't change the feelings she had for him, then what is to say that a genjutsu to knock her out will? At this point, the only way I can see Sakura deciding to move on from Sasuke is if he doesn't come back to Konoha after the fight, and that way she can finally accept that team 7 can never be the old team 7 ever again. Still though...what all of this implies. The fact that threatening the lives of the people that she loves...that even then her love didn't falter. Like...I could never hate Sakura Haruno. And I don't hate Kishi for taking this path and, you know what, considering that Naruto is also just as obsessed about bringing Sasuke back, it kinda makes sense. But like...I can't help but feel so sorry for her. So sad. Of course, this will only mean that she'll have a lot of growing up to do after this and her character will go through development. Yet, if there's no part 3 for the manga, it seems sad that Kishi chose this depressing route to end Sakura's role in it....

in the chapter the the words Kakashi used described her love for him in the past tense.
There's really no other way to get around this except that Kishi is completely regretting killing SS off so soon(?)

This chapter is a big parallel. Sakura regressed back to that little girl on the night that Sasuke left. Begging and crying to Sasuke to stop while confessing, and Sasuke still saying she's annoying. It's even more obvious since we all know how Kishi loves Parallels.
Exactly.I agree to everything you said.

I think you're too hung up on the translation that fit with what you wanted. This chapter pretty much only went with the Viz translation...
The best thing to do is just accept what has happened and move past it. Narusaku is still going to be canon, even if it's not going to be very satisfactory.

Moments like these (LOI and 540) are like awkward farts in an elevator
Kishi did it he's embarrassed by it but instead of apologizing he moves on like nothing happens. Ofcourse following after this NS is going to become canon during the time in the OVA because this little confession during this chapter will be like it never happened just like the confession in the LOI arc never happened.

Anyone else with me that this is worse than 615?
Posted 26 September 2014 - 05:21 PM
has the raws come out yet?
Posted 26 September 2014 - 05:21 PM
The worst part about this is that you know Kishi is never going to address this again, its not going to be brought up.

Geez. When I translated that chapter the context was 99.999999% romantic love to Comraderie.......Without.A.Doubt.And yet Kakashi seems to give it a positive spin in both 675 and this chapter.. blech.

Kakashi just had his murdering ghost friend inside of him recently...we can just take that as the exhaustion talking
(But yes, that part is very disappointing)

The saddest part is that she regressed to that immediately after Sasuke said he was planning to kill Naruto. Just pathetic.

But now we have this....
I'm starting to doubt the ability of my own mother tongue.....
so now 675 no longer has a platonic meaning to it?

I don't think this takes away any of Sakura's development. I think all this chapter did was show that, while she did develop in some ways, there's still one more thing that needs to develop/change, which is her view of romantic love. Even though it has matured, she still has an incorrect understanding of it. Unlike her first confession, the love that she holds now is selfless, and therefore different. However, it's still wrong because it's on the extreme end of selflessness to the point where she degrades herself. And as a Sakura fan...this really upsets me :(. Not because Kishi's wrong in going about it in this way, but because it's just....sad to see her fall why she tries to find her way to becoming the strong woman that she will be in the end, you know?
It's not even that it's incorrect now to believe she's growing to see Naruto in a romantic light either, because she is. And NS's chances of happening hasn't decreased at all. In fact, I think this chapter might have increased it even more. It's just so...sigh ;-;. The best thing about it is that it shows that Kishi isn't done with her character yet. It's just frustrating that it took this long and that he chose to do it now rather than before.
