If you looked at it in hindsight, it just shows how paranoid they were. It's understandable, but after 10 years we still see paranoia towards Muslims and terrorism. Basically, paranoia is now deeply rooted in American culture. And it all started from a terrorist attack, which is rather understandable but my point is, it's about time you guys moved beyond that and realize that you've created a culture of paranoia. That's what the hindsight view is supposed to be.

You miss my point. You were laughing at them for being paranoid. When that happen, they did NOT have the benefit of being ten years removed from the attack nor knowledge of how it would end. It was days after an attack with at least one plane had been on a course with the Whitehouse before it was taken down. And then Whitehouse detectors initially detect a deadly poison? They were justified in being worried at that point.

I call you post a cheap shot because you're using your hindsight knowledge to laugh and call them paranoid based on things they didn't have the luxury of having.

HELRHO!!!!!

I have a series of New Topics for us today!

http://www.thedailyb...o-firebombing.h

A French Satirical Magazine publishes picture of Muhammad declaring, "100 lashes if you don't die laughing". Needless to say the following night their offices were firebombed and destroyed. Charlie Hebdo is not new to criticism for outrageousness (as seen here:http://www.thedailyb...ers-photos.html but firebombing institutes a whole new level of violent reprisal.

Next we have the Eurozone crisis:

http://www.msnbc.msn...ld_news-europe/

QUOTE
Greece will receive no more European bailout aid until it has put an end to uncertainty and agreed to meet its commitments to the eurozone, the leaders of France and Germany said on Wednesday after heaping pressure on Greece's prime minister at emergency talks.

European leaders were angered by George Papandreou's surprise unilateral announcement on Monday of a referendum on a bailout deal reached with eurozone leaders at a summit last week.

"The referendum ... in essence is about nothing else but the question, does Greece want to stay in the eurozone, yes or no?" said German Chancellor Angela Merkel at a press conference.

The statement, echoed by French President Nicolas Sarkozy at her side, was the clearest acknowledgement to date that pulling out of the eurozone is a possible outcome.

As stated before if Greece goes, others go, if others go then Spain goes, Spain Goes, Italy Goes, Italy goes, France, then Germany. No Germany, US Go Bye Bye.

Another: Julian Assange to be extradited to Sweden on Sex Charges.

Another: Herman Cain sexual harrasment scandal. Will this become a firestorm that derails his campaign thus leaving the Republicans to find another NOT-Mitt Romney or Will we accept that politicians and sex are as American as Apple Pie?

Extra Topic: The Occupy Movement seems to be growing. Occupy Oakland shutting down banks today and calling for a general strike. Oh and they shut down the Port. This in response to the earlier crackdown that injures an Iraq War Vet. Causing some people at OWS to call for reprisal if he dies, to others saying that the movement will stay on course and was just an apparition. There are more movements but now that the establishment is starting to get involved will this become the Left Version of the Right Wing Tea Party?

That is all.

Late-night liberal comics spend more time making fun of Republicans than Obama.

In other news, water is wet.

It's amazing the AP actually sent a reporter to write about this.

Nah, they have their own share of jabs at Obama. So you really can't say they're biased.

I can. It took them more than half of his administration before they started consistently making fun of him. Even the link you gave says they "mostly sparing Obama."

That said, I don't even care if they are. None of them are straight news, they can make fun of who they want.

I just can't believe AP would waste resources on a story like this.

David Frum discusses the current GOP.

I've mentioned him before and I usually disagree with him, but it's more on matters of position than tactics. He gets a biweekly segment on NPR which I used to listen to (until my schedule conflicted) and he reminds me of the sort of Republicans that were more visible in the late 80s and 90s (although the Congressional Republicans obsession with Clinton offset that a bit). I don't like his positions and he usually doesn't like mine, but he sounds willing to compromise for what he can get and that doesn't always mean meeting in the middle.

Unfortunately, he's basically been kicked out of the big tent along with Bartlett.

So anyone remember when Congress failed to do anything about the Debt when the Debt Ceiling Fail happened? They made that supercommitee that everyone agreed would fail, that said failure wasn't an option but if it failed there would be 1.2 trillion in domestic and non-domestic (defense) cuts. Then everyone believed they would fail and then forgot about it because they didn't want to think about the consequences of failure. So when the issue came back up that they were going to fail Congress tried to remove the trigger it had placed for itself if it failed?

Hehe, Funny Story:

Turns out the Deadline was Today and SURPRISE IT FAILED!!!

Hey, At Least They'll try to get rid of the trigger to remove responsibility from themselves again, RIGHT?

Well, I guess it'd be more accurate to say he quoted a song featured in the dubbed version of the movie, but it's still pretty funny. tongue.gif

Guys are quick to bash the GOP for being too extreme, but they forget that in the primaries you run as an extreme, and on the election you move towards the middle. When you become president, then you can betray your middle and extreme voters and go suck it up to the corporations. Considering that they pay 35% of taxes, which pays for ten times the more roads, ten times the more schools, ten times the more wars, ten times the more research.

I think what this country needs, is to encourage people to become rich, and not to resent them. Which is the opposite of what the Occupy Movement has become. A movement hijacked by extremes that go as far as vandalizing common stores, who had nothing to do with the economic recession that the country faced. Instead of resenting materialism we need to encourage materialism, we need to encourage greed. Cause in the end of the day you want the greediest of the greedy to get things done.

To put it in a phrase. Money talks, BS walks. Funny...if everything in the world was free, how long do guys and girls think our natural resources would last. Knowing people we would consume the world, until there is nothing left.
