Why is everyone jumping to the conclusion that the character is pregnant? Because she's washing a dish? My boyfriend did the dishes tonight -- I guess we'd better get a pregnancy test.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. There is still a plethora of subplots, character conflicts, and the falling action after this climactic battle with the evil architect to address before the manga can reasonably move forward.

Apart from what you already mentioned, Orochimaru continues to gather in strength while covertly hiding in the shadows as the people around him fight to preserve the world as they know it. He's a longstanding antagonist with a personal stake in the lives of Team 7's members. A character such as Orochimaru deserves an entire arc to himself to address his motives and provide him with resolution. That alone would require several volumes, at least (assuming it's extensive like the Sasuke Retrieval or Sasuke and Sai arcs). It would be impossible to try and compress that into less than two volumes in some half-assed jumbled mess with Kaguya, Madara, and whoever else with an unfinished subplot.

 

As far as things go Atheck, beyond sealing kagyua, we still need to see (that I know of anyways):

 

-The real purpose for Sasuke becoming Hokage, I mean after Kakashi and sakura asked him only to be interrupted by madara, something needs to be answered for this.

 

-The reaction of the alliance to sasuke, I mean sure its one thing for naruto to say go easy on him, but even then, there has to be some dissatisfaction with other people, notably Ay for when Sasuke attacked Bee.

 

-Something has to be done with the tailed beasts, beyond just releasing them, something has to occur with these guys after they are freed from kagyua.

 

-Obviously the fight with Naruto and Sasuke is the biggest one but its just mixed into everything for build up until it comes.

 

-How exactly would the hokage position be made available, I mean before 635 last year when tsunade was still only half the woman she was after facing Madara, she could have died there to make it open, but since she is still fine (well fine as in alive, not fine as in being prone to becoming a zetsu like everyone else), surely she wont die but perhaps just step down considering she in part let sasuke run free?

 

- Kabuto has some point for helping Sasuke, after Itachi, obviously Kabuto can provide some focial point with the rest of taka concerning sasukes real goal

 

-Orochimaru remains the grey area, either he really is just going to come back and follow sasuke or he is planning something, its still not entirely impossible for the theory of because he is inhabiting a white zetsu, he is technically already one so could this possibly have fooled the shinju into releasing or not effecting him?

 

-The edo hokage, obviously beyond the events with hagoromo, they need to have some farewell, mainly regarding Naruto and Minato but something with the others, notably Hashirama knowing that the future is secure.

 

- Hell freeing everyone from the genjutsu is another deal, like how will it happen, will sasuke just look at the moon and say release? How will they get back from kagyuas dimension? Will it be as simple as beating her? Most likely but something has to happen.

 

- Another has to be that conflict of naruto and sasuke for hokage, given how sasuke has his supporters, well naruto has his but its loose elements that the NS part of me says well 663 and what obito said to sakura about naruto tripping (based on going by what kakashi told obito in 655 after obito was beaten and how kakashi said the same deal of helping naruto) there has to be well, a small expansion on it. generally for anything else, yes there is that deal of sakura caught up in that prospect of the two fighting, just for general purposes not even romance related, but team 7 related.

 

- Then there is just resolution for other characters, how will the rest of the cast be after the war, is shikamaru the full fledged smart leader to advise naruto? Is Hinata the clan leader she should be from Neji's death? Is Lee able to continue on with what Guy did? How is Guy anyways, last we saw he was red as a cinder though saved by naruto, will he ever fight again? What about Sai and the deal of him getting his human side back like he had with his "brother" brother shin? Just those general developments still need to be answered.

 

Ten reasons right there, all I can actually think of that actually need to be answered, a mix of short and long term stuff that needs way more than just 18 mere chapters to resolve, likewise some also needing more buildup.

 

Its for these reasons that I have been skeptical of the movie ever since its announcement. There is a notable difference of the manga said to be ending and knowing when it will actually end. Bleach was said to be ending last year, Kubo took last years august off entirely to prep the final current arc and well its one year later, the arc is still going. Its very much the same deal here, naruto is ending, but the ending itself is still not known and not in a foreseeable sight, we know the events for the ending that must occur, but its far too much to do in such a little time. By my estimates, depending on the current kagyua fight this year, it will take at least 60 chapters to have a reasonable ending, for all things to merit an ending, should the kagyua fight end in any span of 5 to 10 chapters, then everything else could reasonably come within 50 or so chapters, give 15 or 20 for naruto vs sasuke itself, any reasonable span for the buildup to it and the manga closing after the fight for the other 30-35 chapters, everything can be done in a reasonable way to end the manga series.

Yeah I think an arc with Orochimaru's character would probably last around 4 volumes which would be the same length as The Sasuke and Sai Arc.

I don't have much to say about your list. It was spot on. Every loose end, every development with an uncertain consequence still needs light to be shed on them. There's no question that Kishi still has his work cut out for him in resolving all of these issues in the manga which continue to be the topic of discussion for many readers.

To add to what you mentioned, what I'm also hoping to see is Kishi giving Sakura the opportunity to weaponise all of the experiences, her knowledge gained, and the skills she developed over the manga in a full-fledged battle (the first she's had since Sasori at the beginning of Part 2) in order to finally cement her place as Tsunade's superior. She's made rapid advancements in this war alone which have closed the gap tremendously, but there's still a lot to be desired in her combat capabilities. For instance, will she ever develop the agility, reflexes, and raw talent that taijutsu specialists like Guy and Lee have?

I would like to see Sakura show a keener sense of adaptability and fluid arm/legwork by fighting in a close quarters exchange that requires her to follow through with her movements instead of simply rushing to attack and then suffering from an inflexible "cool down" period which leaves her unable to attack or defend (her lack of a counter-strategy or reaction to Omoi's kick while she's in mid-punch demonstrates the rigidity which she suffers from when faced with an unexpected action).

There are a few tidbits given about what Orochimaru's aims might be.

For one, he voiced his desire to possess Sasuke after being released from Anko's Cursed Seal. This shows a consistent and overzealous motive on Orochimaru's part to continue with his experimentations and achieve ultimate knowledge by learning every jutsu there is; the Sharingan being an invaulable asset in that pursuit.

Secondly, in spite of his contributions to the war effort by offering his Edo Tensei to the Alliance, he still tries to refrain from directly involving himself in the fighting unless it's insisted of him from someone else. Clearly he's motivated by self-preservation, but what if he's interested in not just defeating the enemy, but understanding the mechanics of their power also? He certainly has a keen eye for unique abilities - the fact that he recognised the chakra chains used by Karin and made the connection to Kushina, and by extension the Uzumaki Clan, proves this.

Orochimaru might be scoping out the battlefield and sizing his opponents up in an effort to use that information to his own benefit. It's obvious information, but what's also interesting is the fact that he once expressed a deep longing for Hashirama's Mokuton abilities. The answer to his question of how he should go about acquiring this very exclusive and dangerous ability falls right into his lap: Zetsu. Quite a few people are already theorising that he's capable of using DSM now. Sage mode would certainly go a long way towards raising his odds in a potential takeover of Sasuke's body. That ties into what his ultimate objective is and it could indicate what Orochimaru intends to do after Kaguya is sealed or killed.

LOL NH fans are hoping for Sasuke's feelings for Sakura to be build up on this "transitional movie towards the time-skip of the manga", so that SS will be canon, and Sakura will be out of the way of NH. But I thought Sasuke had hidden feelings for Sakura since the beginning?  Oh and something will happen with Hinata before the end of the War, it was HEAVILY foreshadowed through Hamura and Kaguya.... Sorry NH fans...
